Visanni 52 bottle wine cooler. Home Depot.. i purchased mine for 199.00 ..with a coupon added on top. I usually set it for around 50-60
OH MY GOODNESS!!....when I saw your collection, I immediately said WOOOOWWWW!!!! You must smell great every day....FANTASTIC!!
The best content on fragrance storage ever , in depth , to the point , well done
Thanks man, I really appreciate you taking the time to make this. This is really helpful and informative. Thanks.
This video actually helped me a lot. I used to store mine in the bathroom above the sink. No cupboards no nothing and they were pretty exposed to temp fluctuations. From now on, I'll store them in a drawer in my room which is dark, cool and no sunlight can get to it.
Thanks man!
tupacole Glad to help!
You shouldve thrown them all out and started again hahahah
I am so glad that I'm not the only one with a store size collection of fragrances!! Love your collection!!
Guys it's not that hard! Just keep your fragrances at room temperature in a dark cupboard (most cupboards unless they have lights inside). I keep my fragrances in their original boxes and just take them out when I want to use them. That way not much heat or air can get to them. On top of that, always keep the cap on and you will see your perfumes lasting until they run out!
If you must display them (which I do not recommend), keep them in a room with a temperature between 45 and 65 degree F. Make sure there is very little to no fluctuation of the temperature. Make sure all of the fragrances on display have their caps on and keep them away from sunlight. The room must not be humid and avoid having much water vapor in the air. As well as this, keep the fragrances at a constant temperature. Therefore, no one should store fragrances at all in the bathroom. I still do not recommend this but it should help preserve the life of your fragrances if you do choose to display them.
Solid advice
Thanks :D Great video too!
The best reviewer on RUclips. So informative. Also, what an amazing collection !
I've kept my fragrances in a closed dresser in my bedroom with blackout curtains, where in the summer I'm using AC set at 80-82, rest of the year, and winter, 72-78 (I prefer to be a little warm than a little cold) and Ive never had an issue in the last 8 years Ive been collecting, with my temps fluctuating between seasons, from mid 70s to low 80s. Never had one go bad yet, and my oldest 3 are now 8 years old.
Thank you for making this video!! I know the basic things to do to store fragrances but you pointed out some things I didn't know. Keep it up!
Cody, great video as always. Enjoy these information type videos
Great video man. Lots of good info.
Great video Doc, as always! Love your reviews. I keep my frags in a file cabinet in the boxes where the direct sunlight never hits the room. The temp in the room stays about 68 degrees year round, never had a frag go bad. Keep up the good work.
This is a good video for my mom and for any casual person who has fragrances.
Great video as always doc. Keep of the great informative vids.
Thanks for the video ! Answered my question from the other video !!
@dracdoc, I have a question, live in Texas and I leave the air on in the summer months and i have a walk in closet but it tends to get a little warm in there. I am starting my collection back when I just to know where would be a good place. Right now I have them on my dresser in their original boxes and room is pretty much dark but in a minute I won't be able to store on my dresser, what suggestions do you have for me. And by the way I say your video review on the Terre D'Hermes and I went out and got a bottle and I must say that I was very impressed.
Excellent video, Cody. This is a TOP 5 fragrance video in my opinion. It took me years of damaging my fragrances before figuring this out. Thanks for bringing this topic to light... LOL!!
Great tips!
Great tips. And I love how you have the topics listed and the time in which you speak on them listed in the show more info area. If all videos had that we can get right to the information and learn a lot quicker lol. Big up. Never thought I'd be so interested in cologne / fragrance after having just started lol
Great video. Thank you.
Excellent video bro! I watched the complete thing and agree with everything you mentioned! Really important aspect for us, the collectors
fantastic video fella. just what i was looking for!
Very nice and informative video. One question though. Can the lED light in the fridge/cooler or in your closest damage the fragrances?
Great video man! What temp do you keep your wine cooler at?
Hey Cody what do you think about the Montale bottles? I just purchased red oud for 160.00. Sure wish it had a cap lol.
Thank you for advice
@dracdoc hey around what humidity percentage does your wine cooler stay at. I'm curious because mine stays around 55% and every time I grab a cologne the bottle is usually covered in condensation. I keep it at 54°F but am wondering if I'm doing more damage then good to my collection because of the humidity level. Would really appreciate it if you could help me out.
Just an update, I have a bottle of Guerlain Heritage which is too tall to fit in either of the coolers so I got a ceramic cookie jar that has a lid with a rubberized seal. I was going to put a towel down inside and then put 3- 4 bottles inside. As a kid I kept going to the cookie jar so now I can continue as an adult :-)
two spots i been known to put colognes is in a backpack when walking to work and medicine cabinet in the bathroom but in the box both cases is that a something i shouldn't do and why?
Nice video Drac :) What temperature do you keep your more expensive fragrances? Thank You!
What brand is that cooler?
Amazingly useful information. Thanks for sharing. I am so envious of your collection. Do you have EDT's dating back to 10+ years? Just want to know the longevity of EDT's in case they are stored they way you've mentioned.
i loved this video !!!
Really great collection bro. some good tips as well. you've really grown as a reviewer and I look forward to all your vids and new material that you'll bring to the fragcomm
Great subject for discussion. I own over 600 fragrances and I take every precaution with regards to their upkeep. I store mine in my bedroom which has blackout curtains that are always closed. I keep the room at 70 degrees year round, and I always have a fan on. I always keep my fragrances in their boxes. I like your idea of a wine refrigerator, I am going to have to look into that. Great video.
Awesome! Very informative, and appreciated!
it's easy througout the winter but how about the summer when it's hot? i don't have air conditioner and it can sometimes get like 20-25 degrees celsius inside?
Planning to buy a wine cooler for my frags. Is it ok to store the frags in the box inside thhe wine cooler?
Hey dracdoc I have light that goes in my room but not direct light on my bottles is that okay , is it light in general or just as long as it’s not direct ? I love ur vids appreciate a response back ty
Thank you just got into collecting fragrances, have to say Chanel Bleu is my favorite. Still have a soft spot for Givenchy pi.
What are the fragrances in boxes on the black shelf? Also which fragrance is on the far left next to the Chanel's in the cooler?
I don't think I'm ready to make the leap to a $200 wine cooler frig but I do keep mine in non-electric plastic picnic coolers. I have a Coleman 24 Can Party Stacker™ Cooler for most of them plus keep them in their boxes and then a smaller plastic 6-can cooler for the dozen that I'm currently using and then I rotate them every couple of weeks. Does that sound like a good way to keep them?
Great video! Informative and well done.
is light then Ok for then ie not sunlight but just lcd lights?...i know at the retail stores they have lights overhead and those seem fine...mine r stored in their original boxes in my draw atm...
i just keep mine in my cupboard and the heat in my room is never on so would that be alright to store them cody?
Hey Cody, if i can buy a good mini fridge that can be changed from 36 to 65 fahrenheit, is it a good alternative instead of investing in a wine cooler?
perfect .i got all the all the info that i needed.
what brand and model is your wine cooler cody?
what temperature is too hot or too cold? How do you buy from online when they are shipping in the summer or winter?
What kind of fragrance cooler is that? And Where can I purchase one? Also, do you have that cooler plugged in? And what temperature do you set it at?
After seeing your video I took all my stash OUT of the bathroom and into my dresser. Thank you so much for your helpful advice, Cody.
Nice! A fragrance collection saved!
Very useful and interesting video, thanks.
A wine seller told me a way they keep oxygen out of wine is to lay them flat so the wine blocks air from getting in thru the cork, I think this can work with colognes as well if you lay them flat the cologne will prevent air from getting in from the top if you don't have a cap or have a tester, Closet is a bad place to store if you live in hot climates. It gets very hot in there.
What if you purchase during summer and they deliver ground in hot weather in a hot truck for a few days?
Very well organize good advice love the videos
does carrying your cologne like everywhere with you through out the week of school in my book bag effect destroying the cologne?
hello Dracdoc, was wondering how much you paid for your fragrance cooler and where to find it? as of now they are displayed in the bathroom but I just realized that's not a good idea. and I do have a cheap Cuba gold in my car that I keep for emergencies. not really worried about that, whatever $5.
Is it a good idea to buy a small fan that keeps the temperature around the bottles cool?
I really hope you can answer me since I am one step away from ordering a fan on amazon.
Thanks,
Awesome video!!!,I watch it twice already Lol,great Collection too
Great and informative. Thanks!
Where did you get your oils from, if you don't mind me asking? Also, would you recommend a newer person to pick them up for note detecting/testing?
I show off my boxes, the bottles stay in the dark :)
lol nice
I just got UltraMale for Christmas. It was inna guest bedroom and it was around 8 - 10 degrees Celsius in there and the fragrance box is an Aluminum Can and the bottle is glass (Jean Paul Gaultier). I'm worried I ruined it and when I get back home from my family gathering I plan to exchange it for another bottle. Is this unnecessary?
Excellent video! Thanks for all the help. Could you PM me the make and model of the fridge you have. Or any suggestions of where to buy a good fridge for a fairly good price.
thanks for the tips just wondering what wine cooler is that ?
Great info and very nice collection !! That wine cooler is like a treasure chest
which would be a great all round fragrance with projection, longevity, sillage at a great price???
Very good information!
Do recommend shaking up the fragrance bottles if it sits for a while or will it effect the fragrance?
Absolutely! It's a good spot
I agree with the point about the refrigeration of fragrance you mention in the video. I once bought a refrigerated fragrance (XS by Paco Rabanne), after about a month at my house which is not refrigerated. The scent went bad.
Very useful tips Cody. Are you going to do a collection video?
What's the cooler called?
Do you think changing the temperature from 68.36 F to 66.56 F concider as a bad temperature fluctuation for my fragrances storage?
It doesn't happen very offen but the temperature changes 1 to 2 degrees fahrenheit.
I wonder if i should be concerned or am fine with this fluctuation.
Happy New Year! 🎄
My greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪
i put mine in my parent's wine cooler on the bottom rack, its 61 F in there do you think that's alright?
thank you sir!
Hi, i store my perfumes in a dark cabinet, but i don't keep the boxes. I am from Bulgaria, we have here hot summer and cold winters. I store my them in my room where i don't use air conditioner a lot in winter time. So is this gonna ruin my perfumes? Thanks
Hey so with Versace the Dreamer, if I leave it out in the sun it will take away the horrible opening and leave the beautiful dry down??? Lol
I keep my Frags in a Treasure Chest style box in my closet. I keep my closet door open so it never gets hot. Is that a good way, or should i remove them from the chest ???
thank you man, all my fragrances went bad today. I should have known better. This was enlightening.
Hey Cody, where did you get your wine cooler at? Can you please put a link to where I can buy it and thank you.
JAMES JACKSON Home depot. Check my collection video, exact model is there (forgot what it is offhand)
where did u get the wine cooler at looks nice
I live in canada B.C. and keep all my fragrances in the original boxes they came in. In a drawr and I keep my thermostat at 0 all year round. I like cold. Is this ideal. Please let me know other than that. Love your vids. 👍
Question. Do you keep your frags in any type of order? I see people keeping there houses with each other. And others with what type of frag like ouds, sports, aquatic, ect. Ect.
What is the temperature of your wine cooler?
What temp should you put your wine cooler at?
Do you have a review of it? If not, can you make one?
I keep my fragrances in a 3x10 closet. Its always cool because i dont heat it during the winter. My questions is, since i have to turn on the light everytime, will the light from the bulb cause any fragrances to go bad?
hey i love the videos dracdoc keep em coming! i am writing to ask about creed fragrances in particular however I'm sure it will encompass many other niche houses. essentially my question is about how long creed lasts. i understand that they use all natural ingredients and i was just wondering if that at at leads to a quick break down of the fragrance. i just bought the aventus 75ml and plan on using it conservatively; will it keep for while if i am not using it regularly? I'm just venturing into niche houses. i have about 21botttles now. most all are designer fragrances but i just recently purchased tuscan leather and aventus as my niche cherry poppers aha. my collection is nothing like yours but at what point would you recommend the investment of the modified wine cooler?
Tonnis Kooi As long as you store it properly, it will last as long as you need it.
dracdoc what temp do you keep your wine cooler at? what is your personal preference for temp?
dracdoc also what is the ideal humidity? right now my fragrances are stored at 12.5degrees celcius or 54.5degrees fahrenheit. and between 35-40% humidity... is this ok??
Sir, I saw on kirill19902's chanel that he uses a fridge that remains unplug. Is this okay?
I have a fragrance collection as well that I keep safe in my closet. However, I would like to know how you feel about keeping them in their original gift sets box.
When I researched this in the past, I read on multiple sites that sprayers are air tight, that a cap doesn't make a difference. I'm not saying that you're incorrect, but who knows if this has actually been tested or whatnot.
good job and great video
Thanks for another great review. Any particular reason you do not keep your fragrances in their original boxes? thanks again. Appreciate all the invaluable insights.
no.. shouldn't be a big deal when shipping. However no idea of shipping conditions but for the most part you don't have to worry about that.
Awesome video👍👍👍👍
I'm glad, I came across this video.
I left my bleu de Chanel in my car for 3 days, is it enough to get chemical reaction to spoil the perfume? It was pretty sunny outside around 80 degrees. Ouch...
how about handbags? is that a do or a dont when it comes to storing my fragrance of the day?
