    I have been using the Hollyland Lark Max since launch and it has been great so far. Gonna be doing a review video on it soon too. Thank you for the heads-up on the sync issue but I probably won't have any issues with it as of now unless I have to shoot really long form video like long speeches or presentations, even then a slight cut in the audio during quiet periods will fix it. BTW, I have also tested it working as a portable recorder by plugging one of the TX modules into a mixing console via AUX out; worked great, didn't introduce or pick up any interference.

      Awesome. I did manage to introduce some audio artifacts. With enough 2.4Ghz interference what happens it the audio quality drops and feels like the resolution drops giving that old school internet audio sound. It took a lot of devices, 4 of my RGB lights are all wifi & Bluetooth 2.4Ghz, my key light is 2.4Ghz wifi controlled, my phone enabled wifi and bluetooth, My computer has a wireless 2.4Ghz mouse and Keyboard, camera wireless remote is 2.4Ghz bluetooth and when it was close to the mic with everything going at the same time it reduced clarity without buzz or hum in the audio.

      Wow, that is crazy. You're not the first comment saying about their Rode failing, in the other users case they had a different problem. You are the second commenter sharing this experience. I don't intend to really use the Rode Wireless II much, I mistakenly remove the one mic and had to re add it while testing. Was a bit annoying and a little too easy to happen by mistake. First time ever I mistakenly removed a mic by mistake on any wireless system, and I test A LOT of microphones.

      Do you think you will get a service with Hollyland? In India, if i am not mistaken. I look at reviews on amazon and some failed after three months as well. People say there is no service. I don’t know if it is true or not. But i doubt on the service. Personally i will go with Dji more accessible and known in case of issues. And i can buy it in official retailer like Henry’s in Canada. So i get a point of service.

      And in case you didn't know I talk about the Rode Wireless Go on my latest video. The Rode Pro sounds the same as the Go II. Man, I really appreciate such thoughtful and thorough reviews like this. I don’t know about y’all but $300 is a lot of money and videos like this are confidence inspiring when it comes to shelling out my hard earned dough. One thing I would like to see is if the internal recording takes place whether the receiver is plugged in to a camera or not. Or is that only in “safety track” mode in the “REC mode” menu?

    • @sparketech
      @sparketech Год назад +1

      Thank you. All these internal recording mics that I reviewed so far work independently without the need for a receiver. without the reciever even if I set safety channel the internal recording came out even levels. I use Hollyland for movie making, I have my 2 channels but another creator came to me for video and audio and editing. The Hollyland Lark Max works great BUT I do not use the fur muffler ever. I tuck it in clothing, better sound quality that way. On my other channel I have a short video clip from one of the movies on my long term review of the Fujifilm X-S20 camera. I also found in a very crowded place with a lot of interference the audio quality drops off a bit, almost like an older RUclips video has lower audio quality. I reviewed a lot of microphones with internal recording on this channel. And I mean, a lot, spent way too much personal income 😅

    Interesting. My Rode Wireless Go II failed after 3 months, 2 transmitters got locked onto the same channel somehow. After spending some time with Rode support, they asked me to send the mic back. While support was great and they sent me a new kit, it shook my confidence a bit and I sold it on eBay. This looks like a good alternative. Saying that, the DJI looks so slick with the more compact transmitters and smaller case.

    after sales service is probably nowhere visible with Hollyland. And the price is not budget. I would like to know if people have issues with it, can they get a service? I look on amazon reviews and it seems that my concerns could be justified.

    • @sparkestudio
      @sparkestudio  4 месяца назад

      I wrote Hollyland support before, one issue would be how slow they are to respond. If you want to know bad service you should check out Gigabyte and their cracked GPU PCB's being big on certain high end GPUs and they deny warranty. Asus and the huge issue of trying to charge customers for unrelated stuff. Gamers Nexus has done videos on both. Companies are getting away with ridiculous things these days.
      Back to Hollyland, the major issue I have seen is the units not turning off when placed in the charging case, it's not everyone but some people. For me an issue I had which I state on my part 2 long term experience video on the Lark Max is both mics turning on when the one only is removed BUT for me is fixed in the newest firmware.
      Sony, check out all the issues and complains and lack of support in the new cameras and what Sony has done with the latest firmware and the battery warning and how it knocks out peoples recordings. Tech companies are getting away with things they shouldn't and it's got stop or it'll only get worse.

      I discuss that in my other Sennheiser MKH50 review where I test several different options compared and end with what mic for what.
      This Hollyland isn't bad for an untreated room with the Environmental Noise Cancellation. It is one of the best options in an untreated room for a wireless microphone. The Deity v mic D4 I review here only $99 USD is a good affordable option. For the D4 in an untreated room speak with a distance from the wall and angle the mic just as I show to do in my review where I tested in an untreated room.

      I use a Azden smx-30 mono/stereo it is very good inside/outside if you use your camera handheld. The mono shotgun remove some side sound. It gives accurate sound. It is bigger 145g and more comparable to a big rode but it has stereo and full range 40hz-20khz to record concerts and events. I don’t remember recording echo with it. It is a pro shotgun mono and pro 120 degrees stereo with +20/0/-10 gain, low cut filter, auto On/off, works with two batteries AA, it has foam studio and the windscreen fur as well, can be mounted on hot shoe or boompole 1/4-20.
      But on a gimbal i recommend a dji mic2 for the ability to balance easily your camera and no wire at all with the new Sony camera adapter hot shoe.

    Would recommend those or the Fulaim X5 for the DJI action 3 ?

    • @sparkestudio
      @sparkestudio  Год назад +1

      I only wish I knew something about the DJI Action 3.
      What I do know is that Lark Max is higher quality build that is more durable and has better quality of noise removal
      The Lark Max is 128 SPL and the Fulaim is likely to distort at lower volumes but I can at least shout with the Fulaim as well.
      Fulaim X5 is cheaper and also sounds better than the Rode Wireless. Fulaim has a short little adapter connector which for a small action cam "could" be something you want rather than a cable. Both have good audio, for internal audio the 24bit of the Lark Max is a better option which prevents audio hiss if the audio has to be boosted much.
      Lark Max has more reliable range as can be heard in the outside testing, especially around the same apartment outside test if that matters to you.
      "specific concerns" would be what can make the answer easier. Cost Benefit to you would be your answer.
      Fun Fact, the Fulaim and the Rode Wireless Me \ Go II uses the same fur muff. I literally tested this right now while writing.

    • @sparkestudio
      @sparkestudio  Год назад +2

      Unless the mic is upgraded this time is the same blah audio with nice to have specs. The wireless Go II should have had the gain assist shouldn't have been wireless ME exclusive. And yes I reviewed the ME and purchased it out of pocket just like the GO II, just like the almost every mic I have ever tested. The pro adds 32bit float, which is great for those that somehow clip their internal audio from being too loud and it is very unlikely anyone would ever record with volumes too low to add hiss to 24bit audio. If the mic can't take the loud sound pressure (SPL) nothing is going to save it from distorted audio, not even 32bit float. There is zero audio quality improvement otherwise. Timecodes are great when making a movie to sync the audio between internal camera and recorded internal mic recording especially when recording with multiple mics. I've always synced by wave form but times codes organizes clutter of tracks of internal mic recording far easier. Being the "Pro" does cater to the pro spec wise and not the average, Joe. Basically for time codes your one side like the right (or left) side channel is destroyed with time code to align the 32but float time code personally have zero need for the wireless pro and neither do most RUclipsrs but the mic quality has always been just "ok". Useful tool for the pro, yes it does a fine job of replacing the tentacle track E, which I personally have zero to use for. For my 32bit float I use the Zoom F3 field recorder, mostly when out in the middle of nowhere cause it is small and can be used to power my actual pro level microphones. Sennheiser MKH50 a $1200 mic I can take outside with me on the go. The Rode Wireless Pro is likely till I find out otherwise a Wireless GO II and ME painted with nice specs. So to sum this up the Pro needs to have a better microphone or it just sounds like the same "it's okay".

      The point of that long message was "don't fall for the hype". I started buying mics to review because of how upset reviewers made me not being fully honest but hyping to make you buy from their affiliate links. If the reviewers aren't fully honest the companies send you more to review unless they seek out an honest Reviewer to show that their product actually is better. The GO II was also great for not being disturbed be interference and the longer range is not internal audio but is a nice to have for someone that does not plan to use internal audio.

      Fall for the hype you spend stupid money for nothing. 32bit float internal recording good on Rode for going all out. Timecodes this looks to only be good for one camera almost all programs line up audio by wave form. Sadly I am sick from co workers coming in sick or I would give my take on this. These specs are impressive from a going all out point of view but the DJI mic still sounds way better than a mic that has a slight nasal tone to it. Also keep in mind up to 7hours of battery life... Minus how much battery life is lost thru the internal recording and maybe we get 4.5 hours of battery life. I heard Rodes actual testing video. It sounds like it always sounded... Okay, not premium.

      @@Hikingjoe383 Best volume levels is partly personal choice. I show in my review what happens when you turn up just the mic and the receiver BUT I never recommend max on anything since that would introduce more hiss. For recording look that none of your levels are clipping to the device looking at the receiver and the camera. Camera input volume levels should always be set low to avoid hiss. My Sony ZV1 I had at 1 out of 30 volume gave me the best sound quality but often was 5 out of 30. On my current Fujifilm X-S20 I always use -30Db lowest possible volume on the camera. However I almost exclusively use the Tascam on camera audio interface since it's simply superior audio to camera mic in. If you used the Tascam on camera interface you set the Tascam ATT to -20Db.
