The original machine shown on Barraud's painting was a cylinder phonograph, but when the Gramophone Co purchased it, they asked him to replace it with a gramophone.
I WOULD DIE OR KILL FOR ONE OF THESE! I Made a Gramophone when I was 15 Years Old! It Looks a lot like this! But under My nickname at the time "Roy Boy Talking Machine"! I will post it soon Playing! Is it Playing a Little Victory Record "Nobody`s Fault But Your Own"?
I found that one thirty one years ago in a flea market in London England. They are not easy to find but do come around once a while. Search eBay and all phonograph auctions and be prepared to part with a lot of money for an original one. It is worth mentioning that there are some exact reproductions also.
This was the same phonograph that inspired the logo with Nipper as the company's mascot for Victor, later became RCA.
Yes indeed.

Most welcome.
All 78's of suitable size
Nice!... thank you for sharing, grikor1
Which labels are safe to play on That?
I would say any acoustic 78's of the right size.
@@grikor1 the right size is still 10 inches right?
@@CPorter no it will only play 7" or smaller
Wonderful machine but please play a record from the time the machine was made! Not an electrical record...
Unfortunately I do not have any Berliner's that are of a condition that would produce acceptable sound.
Are you selling?
Please see comments above.
looked great till you played that record
LOL, well even brand new and with a brand new record they were not Hi Fidelity,
