It is incredible to think that this is the voice that Anne Frank heard, and took such a joy and comfort Inn, and that now as a totally blind person, who cannot read the subtitles of these broadcasts, I can understand exactly how she sounded.
It is nice to see some national pride. The Netherlands is one of those nations with an outsized impact for its size. Most people think of windmills when they think of the Netherlands, but I think of Euronext and ASML.
You're welcome, and that is very true. With the world becoming more and more digital. Resources are becoming less scarce and physical location less important. The ability to find, sort, organize, and apply data/knowledge will become the primary differenciator. Thanks for watching. 🙂
I am so happy you any everyone seemed to enjoy this. I was afraid no one would give this one a chance, but you all did not disappoint. Thanks for watching. 👍
I am so glad you enjoyed that. I knew this one would not get that many views as it is a smaller part of history. However people like you enjoying it makes it worth all the effort. Thanks for giving it a chance. 👍
I remember watching the fighting in Kosovo as a child. It was probably the awakening to the importance of geopolitics. I will look into it. Thanks for the suggestion. 👍
Nederlands & Nederlands Indië Are So Special For Queen Wilhelmina, It is said that Queen Wilhelmina's health condition worsened after Indonesia proclaimed independence and she lost the Nederlands Indië forever.
A good idea, and thanks for throwing in a specific speech. It makes it easier to narrow in on what people want. I feel like I naturally am drawn to the random and the obscure. It is nice to have some direction. 🙂
And GUESS WHERE they all ran? Australia. She is talking about current day Indonesia. A whole bunch of dutch turned up in Darwin. And AFTER all this was over, a independence movement formed, they fought against it then gave up and at home PRETENDED they always wanted Indonesia to have independence. It went thru communist rule for 20 or 30 years before becoming capitalist again.
🤔I would agree that most nations formed at this time came from the breaking of empires not from a love of their right to independence. Still some I think were honestly recognized as brothers by their ruling nation. I am thinking of nations like the Philippines 🇵🇭. The USA was at its peak power, but it still came to recognize them. Maybe I am wrong. 🤔
@@TimeUnveiled_ I believe the United States had been an imperial power in the Philippines since 1898, and we have not been so kind to them historically. They had to change the methods of resource exploitation to maintain control over the wealth of nations. IMF, ICJ, permanent security member status in the United Nations, etc.
@@roccos2311I agree that the United States has done some bad things. And I agree that we have used imperialist strategies at times. However I think the Philippines is an example of where the United States did the right thing. The Filipino people deserved their independence and the United States at the peak of its power welcomed them as a brother nation. We may do wrong, but also do good. Could you please do a video of 2 AI Tranlated Speeches Vladimir Lenin gave? Lenin's speech: The Middle Peasants ☭ Ленин: О крестьянах-середняках Voice of the Past: Vladimir Lenin
I keep putting him on a vote, and he keeps getting beat out. I might just have to sneak him in there because I would love to hear him speak as well. Thanks for the suggestion. 👍
This is an incredible and useful channel. If it gets removed it will be due to the toxic comments! I had no idea there was so much outright hate in the world, hiding in plain sight
Imagine being an ocean away and caring about WW2 as a crown colony. Imagine being a Crown and still talking about wild places instead of just the war on your front. If you don’t know, European countries are WILD.
how do these work by the way? It seems that the ai just sustains the same tone/cadence from the sample for the entire speech making it sound unnatural (lol). I will listen but the appeal of their voice in english fades after a few minutes.
🤔 Ya without enormous manual effort I don't think I can get it to do much better. Speech is actually really nuanced and difficult to make seem completely natural. If I switched to 1 video a week, and focused on shorter videos I could probably make it completely natural. However I am looking at these more like an audible audiobook to some degree. It being read by the original is mostly a bonus. 🤔 Still Thanks for the feedback. I will consider new ways to make it better in the future. 🙂
This is about the Japanese invasion of what's now Indonesia. A whole ton of Dutch turned up in Darwin in the north of Australia and we took them in during the war. After that, in the 50s they had a fight for independence against the Dutch for a few years and got it.
You did. Many did fight though, far more than the establishment wants you to think. demonization is legitimization for them, just keep this in mind when dealing with them.
🤔 Fair. Anyone in mind? I have been thinking of grace hoper, Ada Lovelace, India Gandhi, Florence nightingale, and mother Teresa. But other suggestions are welcomed. 🙂
People of Indonesia must have ben on a tough stop, on one side the Japanese colonisers or the other the Dutch colonisers, I'm glad they managed to defeat both at the end.

My Dutch great uncle was a member of the Dutch resistance who was hanged in the Netherlands in 1943. God Bless the Orange.
