I feel like they are so open, honest, and comfortable in this interview. The most real and raw kpop group interview I’ve seen in ages. Giselle is so eloquent and well spoken. I really enjoyed listening to her in this

I get so emotional when Giselle starts talking about the hate she's getting. @@dangzitspro I was actually surprised the others didn't speak English! All of them speak perfectly from what I've seen in RUclips. Gisele is lovely though, never seen a proper interview from them as they are always doing games and silly stuff for teen shows. Here she seems like such a clever girl with great energy. I like Ningning energy too, they both seem like cool fun girls!
Giselle is the only one that is fluent in English while the other members knows how to speak English but they aren't that fluent and I think in those RUclips videos it was scripted? I'm not sure but that's how I think it is.

Giselle's answers are delivered perfectly - almost like they're rehearsed but actually, she delivers them so naturally they don't feel it - like its coming from the top of her head. She's very good at adding personal comments in to make it relatable. I love the way she said 'we've said this many times in interviews before' about her first impressions of the members and how she gave us new information - this is honestly why I MUST always tune into aespa interviews cos we truly always get new information about the girls. the iPad thing is such a good idea and I've always wondered do the girls film things personally on their phones and send it to SM but I was so intrigued. Thank you for this interview girlies! Thank you for showing the girls lots of respect too Zach Sang & co.

u described it very well: she like adds more comments to each of her statements that makes her sound very genuine and thought out with each response, unlike some who just simply answer the question. It's like we could almost see her thought-process. Kudos to her...I'm a newer MY I didn't even know she spoke English so well, I was beyond impressed and instantly loved her personality (along with ningning, she's adorable)

Whenever aespa does interviews it's really commendable the level of honesty and vulnerability they share. Being a pre-debut MY and experiencing all those things then formed a different level of loyalty to these 4 girls. aespa are so lucky because there is Jimin, Aeri, Minjeong and Ningning in aespa and above all they have each other. Their bond is so special.

Isn't it better and progressive if we hold people accountable, educate them, and let them learn, reflect, be better when they make mistakes instead of just simply hating on them and bullying them dragging every single thing you see/think that is bad about them. It’s nice to see Giselle getting love here… She’s made mistakes, she isn’t perfect (like all humans) but she tries her best, claims responsibility for her actions and constantly shows that she’s ready to learn, and accept that she can always improve, be it in her performance or just becoming more aware as a person.
Giselle really worked hard at promoting in the US. I love to hear her speak in english for hours
I love the way this interview gave us an insight on their training process, recording process, etc. The aespa girls have worked so hard for their career guys! Let's give them our support and love these girls til the end
Without Giselle being part of the group, I would never watching the interviews. She is just so calming and interesting, she gives to the interview a smooth and cool vibe, i feel like her personnality is fluid, not forced and that’s why she is charming

this is so interesting especially with people saying 'aespa had no stage presence before coachella' and hearing that they didn't perform in front of a live audience UNTIL Coachella.. it really shows how different it is performing in front of people versus almost no people at all. i think I understand why they slowly faded in energy back then, because they were basically just performing the same songs every single day to NOBODY, hearing your fans online all the time, but knowing you won't get to see them live. that would drain me too. i do understand that part, but from another perspective, having energy on stage no matter what is kind of their job. I'm glad that Coachella and the performances in front of MY's were able to energize them and teach them new things. They definitely improved a lot.
also i love the part of the interview where it goes:
Zach: "You control the effort, not the outcome?"
Giselle: "We can only control the effort."
It's so true and good to keep in mind when you're a perfectionist. You can't control if it comes out perfect, but you sure can TRY. Working hard doesn't guarantee success but it's the only thing you can do to ensure good results.
In the end though, a job is just a job. Even if you love it, there's going to be times when you don't perform your best or when you feel drained doing the same thing all the time. I think especially as an idol when the whole point is to be able to perform to people, it would be incredibly demoralising to just be performing to cameras and not even getting to sing live either when you'd been training for so many years. Also they're young, they were receiving a lot of completely unjustified hate (mostly from psycho Blonks), and COVID took its toll on everyone. I can only imagine how challenging it would have been.
But props to them that they kept at it and now look where they are! They're so good live and can't wait to see how much further they can go!
It's true they seem really different from each other individually but they create a great chemistry as a group.

Giselle is the cutest human alive, definitely the best personality and attitude she is so effortlessy charming and kind, she doesn’t act. In every interview I need to look and her and to listen to her. Giselle knows how to present herself publicly. Its in her genes and upbringing. Giselle's family is very rich and her aunt is a reporter for ABC News... and the bureau chief for ABC News in Seoul (Joo Hee Cho is her name). Joo Hee Cho actually dated the CEO of SM. That probably helped Giselle get into Aespa. And Giselle gets a lot of hate for that.

I've noticed alot that SM artists are starting to just say what's on their mind more. Exo is famous for calling out how they feel about certain things.
companies should've realized sooner that talking about the downs as well as the ups makes the artists more relatable to us fans... it's so refreshing hearing it really
SM idols talks about these things a lot and it's crazy how other companies stans want to call them fake and robotic when SM idols are the most open and sincere. EXO, SHINee, SNSD, Super Junior, Red Velvet, even NCT are all very open and down to earth. They've all discussed their hardships and burdens but people still hate on them because they are SM. I love aespa and their mindset.

They've never shied away from talking about the struggles they've had with each other and the company, and it's one of the things that made me fall in love with them back during 2nd gen era. Also they're literally not afraid to call SM out on it's BS, like Heechul saying that their album cover for Magic looked like someone made it in f*ing Paint hahaha

Am I the only one to have Ningning in bias but can’t take my eyes out of Giselle ? I don’t know that’s weird I think that when one of this two is you’re bias , the other is also you’re bias, I think this is because they are so interesting and charming .. even if they are different, for me they forming a kind of charming duo in the group. This is probably the best Zach Sang Kpop interview I watched. Giselle is so eloquent and chill. She really went into details and didn’t end her sentences quickly so they can move on to the next question. It actually feels like a conversation and not an interview. Even the other members gave us detailed, honest, and new information in the language they’re comfortable in. This was very interesting to watch and wasn’t boring or awkward. I also love the fact that Zach even stated that he GENUINELY enjoyed their company. Stan aespa

ive never fully gotten into aespa, i ult NCT and stan red velvet and always listened to the girls music in support, but usually nothing past title tracks. but I've seen all the hate these girls get, sometimes for the tiniest of things.
but i feel like you showed another side of the girls, Zach. they all kind of got the chance to show other sides to their personalities, and they seemed so comfortable that they felt safe doing that. and i thank you, this video finally pushed me into stanning aespa.

I think she meant lime vocal over dance. She more comfortable with the musical aspect then the performance part and that ok because she was the perfect fit to join only training 10 months.

Winter is so SHY and I love that because she isn't forcing herself to be loud and smiling all the time. When I started listening kpop (2009) that was considerated as negative, disrespectful. I love that at least in that aspect introverts can be themselves. I don't know if she was forcing herself to answer some questions but from my point of view she seemed really interested in the questions she answered. From an introvert I got that vibe from her.

actually one of the most enjoyable and comfortable interviews i’ve watched. i love seeing karina trying to speak in english. hoping to see more of it in the future and giselle did such an amazing job at facilitating the whole interview & maintaining the vibe, and the interviewer was so good. he asks really great questions and responds to the answers so well it makes it really feel like a conversation and not a one-way interview
This interview is really cool and thanks Zach for sharing this great interview. Now I get to understand how they built sisterhood among the members with diverse background and why they are performing so hard at the stage. They keep improving everyday and they definitely demonstrate their message through their songs and performances. I’m so glad that they were able to meet Mys in person and able to experience the love and support from their fans.

How is Giselle this good at speaking English despite never having lived in an English speaking country? I'm American and she sounds more American than I do. Incredible.
I’m not so sure, but she went to an International School back in Japan-
she went to an international school in japan - its common for international school students to have english as one of their first/most fluent languages
She practised alot and she grew up watching disney channel and listening to eng songs and i also think she had friends who she conversed with

I love seeing interviews where one member has to take control who you doesn’t usually have to. I’ve learned more about Giselle here than I have anywhere else, not just because she’s speaking the same language as I do, but because she fielded most of the questions. Interesting interview by Zach as always. Even if it covers some basic things, there’s always the potential for them to delve deeper because of the setting. edit: bruh when Karina says she’s cool then kicks her feet like she’s about to fly away I freaking died 😭
This interview shows their dynamic as a group. It's obvious that they are really close with each other they have inside jokes and same wavelength, they are pleasing to watch.
