I am working on this same technique finished 6 backgrounds last night. Tim Holtz mentioned this technique during his live today. Funny how ideas pop up in 3 different corners of the stamping world. Love yours.
Oooh! Aaaahhh! Such fun!! Using the different coloured cardstock really adds to the surprise impact! I love your pink trees and that cog card is absolutely stellar!
I honestly could have kept going but then it would have been another week until i shared it with you ha ha. I got so into it, and the ideas kept coming
These are awesome backgrounds. It’s amazing how they change with just a little color. I really love the cog background. It would make a great masculine card. Thanks Sasha
Yet another great video to watch with my morning coffee! And thanks for leaving in your oops at the beginning - always good to know these tips. I'm off to dig out my Christmas tree embossing folder and black cardstock!
Oh yay, pleased i got to start your day off! Im so excited for you to have a go with this technique it's really satisfying. Thanks for hanging out with me Julie
Ty for your inspirational ideas. Loved the metallic on top of the cog embossing folder. Fingers definitely better than using the pad imo lol. I loved the embossing lime green and ice blue hexagon embossing on the right side of the two you done. Would have loved to see the process involved as am not sure how you get the effect x
They are both on black card, same as the leaves(which was on dark purple) . I used my finger, rubbed on white ink, then applied yellow ink over the white. The hexagon embossing folder is the same for both cards, i just did the white ink on each side. Same technique as the purple card. I used Hexagon dies to cut the card base and the layers for the card. Is that helpful at all? Sasha
What a fabulous technique. Those backgrounds are so striking, and the finished cards are beautiful, especially the masculine grungy cog card - love it🤗
Hi. Thank you for sharing your lovely cards and talents. August isn't really late for Christmas cards in the scheme of things unless you're going to need over five hundred of them. I started mine very early accidentally some years ago by being slightly late with mine on one occasion so since then I've carried on doing them throughout January, February and March. I find it helpful when the weather is still wintery to do Christmas cards.😂 Thanks again and have a wonderful day.😊
i do really need to get cracking with some more of them for sure, i was so late starting them last year and then never made enough :( but yes bit weird making them when the weather is nice
@@SashaReade Honestly, give making extra Christmas cards a try directly after the event while you're still in the Christmas spirit. It really makes it so much easier than trying to get back into the swing of it out of season and even if you do end up still do the July Christmas thing it means that you're already ahead of the game. That's my secret to a chilled out run-up to Christmas and to each his own though. ☺️
Sasha, yesterday I used a Sizzix textured impressions folder with black card rubbing over with the very same white ink pad. No colour transferred to my ink pad. This makes me think it may be the type of card you used. Only trying to be helpful. Love your makes particularly those using the tree embossing folder. Thank you. x
Ive linked the one i used in the description box. The link is for an online shop in the USA, they ship world wide. But if you use that link you can then find the name of it and search where you are? :)
Fantastic idea and beautiful backgrounds. I want to try this but the Hero Arts white pigment ink never dries completely for me, regardless of heat setting or letting it air dry for days. Any tips on getting it completely dry so it doesn't rub off on fingers?
oh how odd! ive never had that happen, mine always dries like all my other pigment inks. Might be worth emailing them to ask if others have the same problem and what they've done? I wonder if it could be a climate thing or maybe you got a dodgy pad? Sorry to hear that
If you don't have one of those big flat makeup brushes try using an recycled mayo or peanut butter jar lid with felt glued to it.
I loved all of these, but my absolute favorite was the gears background.
Thank you so much Clara, I was so happy with how it turned out as well
Omg Sasha I just love the colour of the wheels and cogs, also the leaf the ones. Just love theses ideas thank you ❤ xx
That would be an awesome Dads birthday card !! Thanks Sasha
Gorgeous cards!❤ Thanks for sharing what looks like an easy & fun technique😊
OMG. The "fern" backgrounds are astonishing. I thought they were striking enough in white. But when you added the colours, I nearly swooned!
I know i got so side tracked and loved that so much more than what i started with
Really cool effects on these cards! So awesome!

Yes i liked that version more as well
I am not a cardmaker....yet.
But these are just beautiful ❤ Sandy
Oh i hope you start, but be warned it's addictive and relaxing!(sometimes a little stressful, but in a good way!)
Can you create a video on how you incorporate your cricut. I struggle to use it for sentiments!
Oh i could, i dont use it often, but it really does save my butt when i need shapes or words i dont have in my stash!
Love it
Thank you Sandra
Where does one find the gears background? I love it. My son is a total gear-head!

Will definitely email Hero Arts to inquire about it - thanks for that suggestion. It could also be humidity as I live in the South.@@SashaReade
I like using a finger and sponges
The weather feels like Christmas right now. Lol
ha ha are you in the UK as well?? What a miserable horrible non summer summer :(
Wowwwww
Thank you
😊😅🎉😂❤
Have a small suggestion Luster Waz by Sizzix - comes in copper, silver, gold easy to use would look lovely on the gears!
yes those would work great as well :)
