  • One of the rarest and most obscure of the early country blues recordings. The mysterious Freezone left behind only one number, and this is it. The other side of the issued 78 featured a piano solo by Raymond Barrow.

Gran blues. De este hombre, "Freezone", sabemos que se levantó un mañana y le dolía la cabeza, que quería irse a Oklahoma a pillar una india por banda... y bien poco más. :-)
    "Si alguien te pregunta
    quién escribió esta canción
    díles que fue "Freezone"
que estuvo aquí y se marchó."
    ¡Bien! :-)

To the people who think Robert Johnson is super mysterious; I say, meet Freezone. We don't even know his legal name.

Very good indeed; but I wish I could understand what he is actually singing.

The combination of older dialects with primitive recording technologies often makes it difficult to understand lyrics. I noticed that after my ears became "tuned" I had little difficulty with it. Keep listening to various recordings and it'll seem easy.

If somebody should ask you who composed this song...I heard Lead Belly sing the same thing. I wonder where that part originated from

I know that line from a Carter Family song: worried man blues. It goes 'If anyone should ask you who composed this song. Tell 'em it was I and I sing it all day long.' Great line.
