“For Moses from ancient generations has had in every city those who proclaim him, since he is read in all the synagogues every Shabbat.”” Acts 15:21
“Take them, and purify yourself along with them and pay their expenses, so that they may shave their heads. That way, all will realize there is nothing to the things they have been told about you, but that you yourself walk in an orderly manner, keeping the Torah. “As for Gentiles who have believed, however, we have written by letter what we decided-for them to abstain from what is offered to idols, and from blood, and from what is strangled, and from immorality.” The next day Paul took the men, purifying himself along with them. He went into the Temple, announcing when the days of purification would be completed and the sacrifice would be offered for each one of them.” Acts 21:24-26
As someone else has already mentioned about Noah And before as it involves Sabbath as it involves clean and unclean animals these things were already established, And so much more within the Book of Genesis as it involves those who are not Israelites But are essentially protoforms of laws that we see put down in Torah. The distinction Between Tour Commandments that are specific to physical Israelites and those that for the gentiles Isn't as much as I think y'all would make it seem period Don't get me wrong there are definitely specific Commandments that are specific to physical Israelites Blood descendants of Abraham. But I'm not sure I can count those in more than my 10 fingers. It would seem obvious to me that within the apostles they did not want to put an expectation on those coming in that they had to adjust to essentially It completely a different culture Right away There are more important things If they had to adjust first the rest would come later They would have a whole lifetime to do it they would be meeting weekly at the synagogues where Moses was taught on a weekly basis. But there was obviously weightier Commandments in which the apostles wanted to focus on for those Coming from complete Pagan backgrounds. But yeah even making it sound like the Shabbat isn't meant for the Gentile Well outside of the fact that the Gentiles are mentioned in the Commandment given There is also The words of God himself in Isaiah 56 who literally says the exact opposite as it involves Gentiles in Shabbat Or any of those who would want to call him Lord....
@nathanieldiaz2845 I see it more of an issue with Jewish HalakHa of being stuck on the whole Noahide concepts. Between the sheer volume of 'one torah for jew and gentile' in addition to 'the use of diverse weights and measures are as an abomination', the simplest reading is the receive ALL APPLICABLE (man vs woman, non levite vs levite, etc...) instructions for a set apart life - which we are ALL to strive to live. I see Sabbath given at creation and applicable to ALL of mankind, a sign to those who claim covenant with YHWH. While it is not expressed as a Mitzvah, it is obvious (to me) once you know more of YHWH's nature as gleaned from the rest of the Torah, TanakH and apostolic letters. We learn that He hates hypocrisy, preferential treatment, and requires the same standard for ALL. Below is a short text I use for expressing what I see in Genesis. שבת שלום ויברכך יהוה וישמרך. ----------- Showing us the end from the beginning, He is speaking to ALL of mankind. His Set Apart and Sanctified Sabbath was from the beginning and without end, as he did not close it out with "...and the evening and the morning were the nth day...". As all scripture shows us that YHWH examples behavior for us, having just "labored" and "rested" as our example, he places Adam in the Garden to dress/keep (labor) and would apply the "resting" requirement also. Being made in His 'image' and that image being immutable, we would be blessed in observing His Set Apart Rest. Gen 2:15 And יהוה Elohim took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. dress: (serve as in Joshua 24:15) H5647 aw-bad' A primitive root; to work (in any sense); by implication to serve till (causatively) enslave etc.: - × be keep in bondage be bondmen bond-service compel do dress ear execute husbandman keep labour (-ing man) bring to pass (cause to make to) serve (-ing self) (be become) servant (-s) do (use) service till (-er) transgress [from margin] (set a) work be wrought worshipper. Gen 1:25 expresses how Elohim made the beasts, et al to be after their own kind. Gen 1:26-27 shows how we are made in His image, to be and do after our own kind (work 6 days and rest the 7th) Our Father in heaven and our Messiah do by example. Gen 1:28 as Elohim is a creator, we are to "create" through being fruitful/multiplying and has put the desire/need to be very creative in some aspect of our life or personality; to subdue and have dominion over the earth; as Messiah Yahshuah will have or really, already has, in that what Elohim speaks, He does! (the 2nd Adam) Genesis 1: 25 And Elohim made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and Elohim saw that it was good. 26 And Elohim said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So Elohim created man in his own image, in the image of Elohim created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And Elohim blessed them, and Elohim said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
As a convert to Judaism our tradition teaches that some of those, like myself, who were at Sinai were not born Jewish but we have made the journey back home to our people. In some synagogues converts are looked down on as second class citizens but in my shul I am celebrated because I found my way back. If I even hint that I am a second-class citizen, the rabbis will tell me how much my journey inspires them to see what they were born with through new / fresh eyes. They deeply appreciate gentiles among them. Believers in Yeshua? If they are hungry for Torah and keep Shabbat (Isa 56:6-7) and are respectful with those who do not believe in Yeshua, they are welcomed and blessed.
Not at all. Theocratickingdom30’s comment really speaks to the point. We are different and have different roles like a husband and wife. It doesn’t make one less than the other. It does, however, place more responsibility on one more than the other, just as in a marriage.
What do you think of the idea that true repentance and faith in trust in Yahweh and Yeshua makes us "SPIRITUAL ISRAEL" and therefore grafted in. My understanding is the even Israelites by blood must also become Spiritual Israel to obtain eternal life. Romans 9:6-8 NLT [6] Well then, has God failed to fulfill his promise to Israel? No, for not all who are born into the nation of Israel are truly members of God’s people! [7] Being descendants of Abraham doesn’t make them truly Abraham’s children. For the Scriptures say, “Isaac is the son through whom your descendants will be counted,” though Abraham had other children, too. [8] This means that Abraham’s physical descendants are not necessarily children of God. Only the children of the promise are considered to be Abraham’s children.
Great question. While I do believe one has to be “born again” per Yeshua’s conversation with Nicodemus in John 3 (probably not the definition most people think of), the term “Spiritual Israel” is not biblical and one that people have used to use unknowingly supports anti-Semitic theologies. Physical Jews are God’s chosen people. Period. But that’s not a guarantee of one’s place in the Kingdom. And in the same way, even though we have been grafted in, this doesn’t make us a Jew and therefore doesn’t automatically create equal obligation in regards to the Torah. Hope that helps! Shabbat shalom!
So-called Noahide laws for God's people who are not Jewish are false. For example, clean/unclean animals was already established pre-flood (Gen 7), Sabbath at creation (Gen 1) etc. God has ONE law for his people, not two laws (Exodus 12:49, Leviticus 24:22, Numbers 15:15-16). Acts 15 was only the start related to pagan temple worship, new believers were supposed to learn more at synagogue each Sabbath Acts 15:21. UNSUBSCRIBED
You are very much correct, however I wouldn't unsubscribe from this group because of that they have a lot that they get right in comparison to other groups or videos out there, there's still much that can be learned and gleaned from this congregation. This is one of those cases where I would encourage you to just realize where the bones are in the meat and take them out before you try to swallow.
You are misinformed. The Noahide laws are biblical. I have playlists on it. Acts 15 lays out Noahide laws for Gentile converts, and the lost sheep of Israel. We learn of the Torah whats relevant to these laws, and anything else we do is an addition, not obligation. The distinction is for ease, not a hierarchy. If you look at the NT, some pharisees thought new converts should circumcise. The Apostles decided against it - noahides arent required to circumcise. Yet later Paul circumcises Timothy (his mother was a Jew) We shouldn't judaize either, so Gentiles should do this with guidance from a hakham.
@@Stardust475 some Pharisees taught that because in the first century some camps of oral tradition taught that Gentiles had no place in the world to come without circumcision which we know is unbiblical this is why Paul and others were against it because not even the Torah required Gentiles who came into Israel to become circumcised. The Taurus specifically states of Gentiles want to become circumcised they can but it never says it's a requirement for them that's a requirement that is specific to the physical descendants of Abraham. And it's one of the very few laws within Torah that is Specific to physical Israel.
