    Nice one mate- it is top quality gear.
    I went up to their place in Doncaster and got measured up for my jacket- as I'm a big bloke and I wanted it done right-they were very helpful and it arrived a few weeks later by post. I went for the longer jacket to stop draughts up the back when I'm sitting out on a cold windy day.
    Very happy with it. Keep the vids coming mate 👍

      Cheers Paul, that’s helpful info for other anglers! The longer jacket is a good shout, and will certainly stop the drafts! Will have another video soon 👍🏻

    Very entertaining.
    The boss is ladie is x World champion.
    Even though the Top Anglers wear there companies make of clothing If you look carefully you spot the Halkan Hunt badge. Jamie Hughes is Matrix but it's not Matric clothing it's Hakan Hunt.
    Fantastic review.

    Great review, never tried that gear myself, just use basic long John's and layers. My son was clearing out somethings for the bin,he was chucking out a back protector for snowboarding, I kept for myself although I had to add extra velcro for the waist he's skinny and I'm not. I thought if it keeps your back warm up a mountain it'll keep me warm on the beach and it keeps me very warm you can feel the heat build up.it doesn't get in the way you can bend down/pick things up.he said there about £20-25 .Stops the wind and cold getting to my back

      Hi Mark, it’s a great point… my Dad suffered with exactly the same thing… have you watched my Zerofit Baselayer review… as we go into detail with the problem… think you’ll find it interesting! Thanks for the comment and the support 👍🏻 BB

      @@FirstTimeFishing yes that's what I watching 1st. Its important to wear warm clothes when it's cold. In my wet weather gear the bib and brace and jacket aren't lined and feel cold and a northerly wind can be excruciatingly painful, that's what the back protector stops, it's still freezing but at least my back is warmer

      @@TAMMYSTACKER you’re absolutely right, sorry mate, the comment popped up in the Halkon Hunt review, then I saw you’d already commented and said you’d heard from the angling4u boys… so thought that might be the case… you’re absolutely right, the waterproofs do the job, but can make it freezing underneath, cheers mate 👍🏻 BB

    Very nice review, what is your pole jacket and bib and brace size? XXL or XXXL? Sadly I can't found chart size guide anywhere.. :(

      @FirstTimeFishing  2 года назад +1

      It’s custom made Tamas, you send your sizes to HH and they make it to your size 👍🏻 BB

    Great review as a larger guy my self its so hard to find stuff that fits, bought the largest matrix wind stopper hoodie and the sizes are so small, Drennan seams the only other option

      Great advice Darren! My local tackle shop, W. H. Lanes in Coventry were able to point me in the direction of some manufacturers that fit the ‘larger’ fisherman, but I opted for the Halkon Hunt range as it was bespoke, rave reviews and was very impressed with reviews on their customer service! I know they’re expensive, but these items are going to last me years! Thanks for following the channel! 👍🏻 BB

    I think you’ve convinced me to go for the Guru branding, it’s a shame they can’t do all the order manufacturers.
    Out of interest how much did you pay for pole jacket/ Bib & brace..?
    Was it 260 for jacket and 260 brace, I see you have order embroidered logos added was that expensive..?
    Going to put in my order in the next couple of weeks just getting my head round measuring..🧐
    Thanks great video..👍

      Hi Ken, thanks for the message! Guru have an affiliation with some of the best manufacturers eg HH with clothing and Rive with their seat boxes, they’ve opted to try and make it a real premium brand... the other brands ie Preston/Matrix/MAP/Maver etc, all make their own hard weather gear, but Guru simply decided to link up with HH... which in all honesty has been a fantastic partnership from my experience with the clothing... you can’t get your hardcore clothing range wrong when it’s made by the country’s finest bespoke angling clothing company. Thinking about what you’ve said, if you wanted to go for a different colour setup, I’m sure they could embroider any logo you wanted... I know they will put any custom logos on for about £8 each, but I don’t know where they stand from another angling brand? But ask the question to them if that’s of interest to you! Pole jacket is £295, soft shell jacket is £208 and bib and brace is £275 with 10% surcharge for XXL sizes or above. Don’t over measure yourself, as HH will add the extra required to wear the item over other clothes when on the bank! Hope this helps mate 👍🏻

      Thanks for all the information Big Bird, I had hoped to go with Rive HH gore-Tex, but HH said I would have to buy directly from Rive, and if they were to make it for me I would need permission from Rive.🤦🏻‍♂️
      I will see if HH will do the Rive colour combo in the suit without the Rive logo and I’ll add my own custom logos.
      If that doesn’t work out will definitely go with the Guru option.
      Was just wondering about the labels/ logos which is stitched into the garment, does this affect the waterproofing in anyway..?
      As the Guru suit seems to have logos absolutely everywhere..!
      Thanks appreciate all the information👍

    • @FirstTimeFishing
      @FirstTimeFishing  3 года назад +2

      It doesn’t affect the waterproofing at all I believe Ken... Goretex is made of 3 layers, and the stitching is to one layer... I thought there may be a slight issue with other angling manufacturers logos... but I’ve always found them happy to give out all the advice of what they can and cannot do... it’s great you can customise the colours to match the majority of your kit 👍🏻 you’ll have to let me know what it looks like when you’ve designed it and had it delivered 👍🏻 BB

    How do you find the guru versions how do you or the guru version

      Hi Adam, simply phone or email Halkon Hunt and specify that you wish to have the Guru themed clothing item of choice... from my experience, they’ll be more than happy to sort your request. If you just want to have a look at the styles, if you google “Halkon Hunt Guru” and then select images, they are all to view there. Hope this helps 👍🏻

    I dont doubt its quality gear,i checked some out at wickersley angling its top stuff,but think its a bit over priced,i ended up getting a gore tex berghaus coat and berghaus gore tex trousers for £10 less than just the HH bib and brace..HH great clothing but i think its over priced

    • @FirstTimeFishing
      @FirstTimeFishing  3 года назад

      That’s a good alternative option Mr B, welcome to the channel, unfortunately companies like Berghaus don’t do sizes that fit me, so although HH are expensive, it’s guaranteed to be a perfect fit 👍🏻 BB
