I just loved Barry's teaching (as always)! Something Barry said at the end just before Q&A began was about abiding in the Vine from John 15. This has been a study and meditation of my heart going into a third year-God is really working to show me how to ABIDE in Him. We're so gungho to get our lives going and our plans and feel the tick of time and our impatience to be somewhere and be out of a mess, but I'm learning that God is much more interested in my growth process day to day-even on my way to be somewhere that He's leading. I'm learning to let go of my own way and walk in His. Walk in His timetable. Walk in His wisdom and not my bright ideas. Walk in His strength, not trying to push through in my own limited strength. He's my SOURCE for ALL things. I'm joined to Him. I move when He moves. In ALL my ways (even the little bitty stuff), I'm talking to Him and asking Him how to do it or whether to do something or when to do it. I'm asking and expecting Him to flow. To put right people in my path and being the words in my mouth for them. Everything I do, I'm inviting Him into it. We're talking and walking through life together. I don't have to be the smart one because HE is and He doesn't have opinions like I do, He KNOWS the answer I need. He gave me a brilliant business idea that just lights me up because it's so right for me, but that was over three years ago and I keep daily thinking about it and doing some legwork and getting prepared, but the time hasn't opened up that I can really get very far and I don't feel Him telling me to quit my other work. I'm learning to settle down when I feel frustrated or like time is passing and I'm not moving on this...I am realizing that He knows ALL things here too. I can't do that business without Him, and one thing I'm learning in the meantime is how to ABIDE. How to flow with Him, letting Him lead and not me. If that sounds like dullsville or like you're letting go of who you are, it couldn't be further from the truth. God isn't trying to mute who He made us to be, but show us how to live that John 10:10 "life, and life more abundant" through this close, intimate walk with Him. Talk about exciting!! I have my lows and challenges, and some pretty long, dark valleys I've been walking through with circumstances, but I'm learning that He is with me and I'm ABIDING, I'm connected and fused and flowing with Him; and because of that, I can come through victoriously at some later date. In my growth, I've become more and more comfortable with not knowing what's ahead even for shorter-term things that need an answer. I have symptoms, but I know I'm healed. I have a oppressed, often angry loved one under my roof, but I know God is working in them and me in ways that are impossible without Him. I'm diverting my attention away from the concerns of the circumstance and ABIDING. Walking one step with Him at a time, day by day, moment by moment. I truly believe that's what we were made for. I see that in the way Jesus walked with His Father and ABIDED in Him in all things. Anyway, do not be impatient about your destiny or plans. Invite Him into your everything and walk with Him. Daily, He will put before you just what you need or use you to be what someone else needs that He puts in your path. That's exciting, peace-filled, growth-filled, freedom-filled life in Him!!

I had to remind myself of the very things I wrote here because I'm having a low moment where I'm tired and sick of being in the valley. But it goes back to ABIDING and flowing with Him and trusting Him to show me what I need and provide for me what I need. That's life. Sometimes we feel the mountaintops and sometimes we feel a deep, dark valley, but when the roots are growing deeper in my heart to commune with Him, even in the dark valley when I'm tired and my emotions don't feel like I can take any more, I still find myself returning that focus on Him even when I don't have the answers that I want or things still feel or look dim. We're growing and He's with us through the mess, loving us and lifting us up. Blessings to you, Rani! You're going to have victory too-just don't give up!
Wonderful teaching, Barry. An answer that many of us have needed confirmation on. First we live in eternity-knowing Him, loving Him. Loving others, being salt and light. As we build our foundation we fulfill His plans. It’s never too late - think of the criminal hanging next to Jesus on the cross . . . there was time for him.
Stay close to God.

Great and awesome teaching on God's Purposes for us. As mentioned, many of us were taught and shaped by destiny teaching and inclined towards a narrow focus. God's purposes has many facets. He created all of us in His image and has put eternity in our hearts. Thank you Ps Barry for reminding us that all other God's purposes for our lives flow from our fellowship with Him, which is the primary purpose. Greetings and love from Singapore.

If you ask a plant what it wants. It would state things like water, humus, health body etc. The surprising thing is its all 4 the purpose of growth & fruit. Growth & Fruit 4 the gardener.

How should you approach those who take scripture out of context...? Jeremiah 29:11 is taken out of context very often..
