Mike is without a doubt the greatest kid singer/talent ever. I've never heard a kid with this kind of vocal power, control, and delivery. He was truly amazing.
Come on Markey let's not get beside ourselves 🙂 Michael and his brothers did a great job with Ready Or Not. But no version and I repeat NO version tops the original version of this song sang by The Delfonics.
@@drock6966 That's right, Michael didn't sing it better than the original or the Stylistics version of "People Make The World Go Round" and "La-La (Means I Love You)" However, "Who's Lovin You" , I Hear A Symphony,"Rockin' Robin", and one of my favorite a Supreme song... Michael Jackson - Love Is Here and Now You're Gone. He killed it or match the original on both of the Supreme songs.
@@Kemet3.0 I agree!! ESPECIALLY the Jackson 5's version of "Who's Loving You". Even Smokey said that song no longer belonged to him Mike sang it so good 🙂
I was born in 1970 but I wonder want it was like to be a teenager during this time. The music , afro, clothes and the bondness that black people shared. The music was about love and soul , wooing that girl not treating her with disrespect. It was so soulfoul.
The Way The Delfonics And The Jackson 5 Did It Was Very Good I Like It Better And The Way They did It I Was almost 13 When Their Third Album Came Out And It Was The Best Version Of Ready Or Not I Have Ever Heard Back Then Here I Am 55 Years Old And That Song Is Now Done By That Actress On Good Luck Charlie.Everytime I Good Song Comes Along Someone Come Along And Ruins It Is Bad Enough That The Fugees Did And Now This They Need To Get Good Songwriters And Leave The Songs By Artist of The 60's Be.
Young Michael was the game, he sounded “cross over” and “pop” without trying to. That made virtually the J5 and MJ catalogs universally appealing. You can play nearly any selection at any time and not offend anyone
Man why does this song make me sad...I used to listen to the Jackson 5 and Michael everyday and now I never do anymore and have been listening to Kpop now specifically BTS or GOT7 and seventeen....I’m even a trainee waiting for a label to pick me so I practice everyday and it’s all kpop and now coming back to this it makes me so hurt it reminds me of how I used to be...with an Afro and learning Michaels moves and where he got his inspiration it was amazing but I put it all to rest now I’m 19 and I have to say thank you Jackson 5 you guys always were there with your music for me during 3rd grade to 12th grade now the scary adulthood starts thank you for being there when I’d have my bad days you gave me life. Goodnight
Joseph and Katherine made some beautiful children.I love seeing old pics of the brothers Jackson. When I think I've seen every old pic....another one comes up.DAMN!!! They must've taken thousands of pics in the 70's
It is terrible to waste this space on anyone who would dare to choose "dislike" for this clip, but it's a free country for ignorant ones too I guess. I am so grateful & thankful to be a kid of the 70s and to listen to this brilliant song with the same love for it as back then. Those amazing voices, the driving force of The Funk Bros, and also that flute near the end. I wish I knew who's excellent idea is was to include it there, but it definitely captures the sound of that time in music. J-5 forever!!!!!
Now I know why I like that Missy Elliot song Sockit To Me. It was sampled from this J5 classic. Along with the melody that was also used by Lauren Hill. Great music never dies...it just keeps getting reborn. A work of art is what this is...J5
You're right, growing up Motown living in Detroit was special; but think about, compared to today's music, you guys in the 80's and early 90's didn't have it too bad. Compare New Jack Swing to today's music. I still love the New Jack Swing! lol.
One thing growin up we had that 2 days kids cant say is we had the jackson five...they really were special always givin sum natural high vibes 2 the world...with micheal and jermaine. Leadin...these boys..were. Pop royalty
@Joyce Patrick My mom did too. She has pics with The Jackson 5 and Ms. Jackson. She was such a big fan Joe Jackson picked her up in a limo while in Kansas City, Missouri to go to their concert. She is still proud to this day to show her pictures with them.
My uncle went to high school with rebbie. My dad was too young to go to school with them and they moved to California too quickly. I visit their house sometimes

Wow! Beautiful job of putting this together and perfect song choice. I haven't heard this one in a long time. Brought back a lot of good memories. Thank you!!
I had a friend who knew Jackie Jackson, he's said so many times that Jackie's sex exploits are truly legendary! My friend has sinced passed but everytime I hear this song, I laugh and think about him talking about Jackie Jackson! He also told of Jackson either laughing or with a smile.
Smokey Robinson ( who has seen every RELEVANT performer) says Michael Jackson is the greatest performer he's ever seen. That includes James Brown, Sammy Davis Jr, The Nicholas Brothers you name them.
Yeah dont ever compare Prince To Michael Jackson again. Mike is just on another level that will never be met. Greatest Child star of all time. greatest entertainer that ever lived

I totally agree. But check out that Phiily sound...Motown producers had recorded that Philly sound on three of the Jackson 5 Albums. (Particularly Thr Delphonics)...The J5's first album "Can you remember"...The second album, "La LA means I love you" The Third album, " Ready or not" So give credit to those beautiful string arrangements that came out of Philadelphia...
Philly Groove and Motown were contemporaries. And yes, Thom Bell was a genius of geniuses. But don't act as if Motown copied Philly Groove. Both companies listened to each other and fed off of one another's creativity.
