This is how you hurt scammers the most, not by deleting files or infecting their PC's with trojans or viruses, hitting them in their pockets is the most sensible and destructive method you can use.

I found scambait videos not long ago and have been addicted since! I truly cannot thank you all enough for what you do (Lewis, you're actively *SAVING* people.. makes your channel absolutely my favorite, to be fair JimBrowning and you both! You're heroes!) I was a victim of an IRS- and then (not giftcards likely because I was younger) western union. I was a single mom of a newborn with no support, and emotionally vulnerable.. I was deathly afraid of being taken away for some IRS bs unpaid taxes or whatever- I didn't know. I thought it was possible some mistake happened- I'd moved 2 states and from Europe < ex military family at the time>- bc of all the moves. I was terrified my baby would be put into foster or something if I went to jail, and as I said emotionally a wreck (thanks post-preg hormones!😣) And these disgusting parasites, even after telling them I needed that money for food and rent for myself and my 2mo old baby... pushed me until I broke.. They didn't care whether they made a mother and child homeless and starving (I did find help afterward, unfortunately pushing me into a living situation with an abusive @ss- I got out ASAP, but these cockroaches ruin lives) I was lucky in the end, more than some, but they need to all go down. I'm sorry for the long life story there, but as a former victim, I just want to thank you for what you do. You'll always have a fan. And again please know you're literally saving lives. (And I'll shut up now! 😄)

FYI People; Taking three years of data into account, the average number of people getting scammed in Britain is 5.6 million. Visiting a fraudulent website or a website that's a copy of a real one

I made sure a few years back to prime my family and warn them thoroughly about how these scams work, but not *everyone* knows, so the world is lucky to have people like you around. I tell you, I’m about at the point where I think adult children of elderly parents who could fall for a scam consider deleting their online banking app or taking them to their bank to have the manager warn them about scams. The general rule of not letting anyone they don’t know connect to their computer can be forgotten, or they could be coerced by a scammer. I don’t think a lot of people realize just how often scams are attempted on the elderly. My mother receives robocalls on practically a daily basis, sometimes more than one.
You are doing absolutely great man. Even I hate these scammers from whichever part of India they belong to. They always target people with less technological background. This type of content is my favourite in RUclips now, looking for more. Looking at scammers failing without knowing what happened gives me so much satisfaction. Maybe next time you can try to capture that and share in video for us.

I'm guessing they transferred that $35000 from her savings account into her checking account in order to trick her, so she might have lost everything without your help.
The scambaiters all support to each other, they seem to communiate to each other the father of this community is Jim Browning. These scam baiters they all have a different talent and inteligent to save all the victims by all this scambugs. I wish each one of them the very best, please, do support them so, they can help more people and to tackle these scammers.
I wish people would let all their older family and friends not to fall for all these scammers and not let them access their computers at any cost and to hang up the phone when anyone offers them money of any sort.
I feel horrible for these victims, but I just can’t BELIEVE that people fall for this scam! I was getting these calls from scammers back in 2010, when there was ZERO public awareness about tech scams, but even back then on the very first call there were alarm bells going off in my head to not let these creeps even connect to my PC let ALONE connect to my bank and all the other shenanigans they pull. These scammers are so gross.

I'm still amazed that people actually fall for this. Love calling these fools and messing with them. I had the dopiest scammer ever on the phone the other day. The opener was on the line for 30 minutes alone (instead of the usual 14 - 16 minutes) When they are coaching me on what to say I always make sure I act in a way to justify their coaching (just to waste time) Yes, turn off the router first. That will fix wifi or ethernet connection. I'm glad you caught this as she might have lost $30,000.

Calling people and then telling them to type seemingly cryptic things into a run dialog is just reinforcing the idea that scammers doing weird things is normal. In future it might take longer, but opening control panel and clicking "add/remove programs or features" is a much smarter idea because it makes it much clearer what is being done and establishes an idea that legit people aren't going to be asking them to type random things into run dialogues.
That was an incredible job, thank you for saving her. keep doing what are you doing. So, the scammers will get their own medicine. Another amazing job Lewis.

In the US..... any transfer over $10,000 requires huge amounts of scrutiny. And also requires several IRS forms to be submitted.
