We're finally here with Tokyo Autumn Session! It's been a few years since our last "tokyo session" collab and I know of lot of people were hoping for this one since it's rarely covered, hopefully the wait worth it! This was a really tough song to adapt coherently because of the rigid scenes and ages in the source material, but I love that this song covers more mature topics bc let's be frank, we can't always be in high school forever (me and my cast sure aren't, we're all working adults now lol)! Speaking of, thanks to my cast for reprising their roles yet again and just doing their thing (it's like they're on autopilot at this point). As the released off-vocal still including the seiyuu's in the source track, it was also refreshing recreating the original video's audio design during the voice acting intro using mixing techniques I rarely use these days (please enjoy Angela, Nabi and my amusing VAing). This made my freakin' day!! I've been waiting for years for this Eng cover, and the wait is worth it!! This song is very dear to my heart because it solidified my love for HoneyWorks and it's the first song to be released when I got to know them! The cover is very wonderful and I'm glad to hear you all again!! Thank you for doing the voice acting too!! The change in "I want to touch you like before" lyrics compared to the original's simple "I want to touch you" is a great decision! It makes the meaning more deeper (and not sound cheesy) because they long for those simple days.. I love it!! Somehow, now that it's covered in a language I speak, the meaning of the song gets deeper to me.
I love that this song portrayed a more mature side to the first generation, and it emphasized on their own stuggles like real people do. The callbacks from the previous mvs and the novels are just on the right feels with nostalgia for the viewers who practically grew up with them.
Anyway, again.. Thank you so much!! I literally rolled on the floor out of fangirling and excitement when I saw this lol. My family thought I'm crazy XD. I mean, it makes me excited everytime you upload a HoneyWorks cover!
Late but thanks for all the nice compliments and in-depth analysis. There was something midly creepy sounding about just leaving it as "I want to touch you" so I opted for something a little more meaningful, glad to har hear it worked out alright!
