Love Hux and love Millicent. Honestly i started liking Hux and Kylux because i love Domhnall Gleeson, but i prefer way more the fandom version Hux than the movies, it's way more fun.
I'm pretty deep into the Kylux fandom and I love Millicent. She is useful to humanize him even in AU fics because he's a pretty uptight character even when he isn't hellbent on domination of the galaxy. I never really noticed the smoking or tea thing.
I found millicent in fanfics and hadn't no idea where it came from but I loved it. Hux seems like a cat person and I love Kylux fics where millicent hates everyone but Hux and when she meets him, kylo. I love your channel especially as I keep to a couple of social media things and often find things that I have no idea about until you do a video on it. I can't wait to see what you will cover next, from legends of tomorrow, to IT, to Voltron, I just know whatever kind of show or movie you cover, and whatever ships from it or headcanons, it will be amazing and beautifully explained
As a German, the Nazi parallels were more than obvious and it almost hurt watching this speech scene. He is an interesting character and I like him for that, but I could never ship him.
My favourite fanon phanomenon will forever be the Sherlock fandom's creation of a modern-day Sebastian Moran. It's kinda amazing how we managed to build a ship around a character that didn't even exist in the show.
0:59 It's perfectly fine to like the villain in a story, or even for them to be your favorite character. To me, it only becomes a "problem" when people start making excuses for them/trying to claim they aren't the villain. FTR I'm not referring to badly written works where the person who's supposed to be the villain clearly has a point. Looking at you Ayn Rand. Hux is a great character not because of what he does, but because of how brilliantly his actor plays him. Hux is basically the archetype of the British Imperialist. His actor is Irish. And there's an old saying that goes "Nobody hates the British like the Irish." QED. :)
Totally agree. Whenever someone gives me a hard time about liking a problematic SW character or ship, I just respond with Oscar's "it's fake and it's in space" quote. Obviously, the whole fake bit works for all fandoms, but that particular quote is a great riposte in the SW fandom. :)
I LOVE HUX! Is My favorite character in Star Wars 7 and 8! He is so.... powerful....so elegant with his nature..!! I absolutely love him!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I enjoy Hux's character in both canon and fandom, and the pairing Kylux (And the talented artists who make it amazing). Millicent is a great addition, like smoking (Unhealthy, do NOT do it !!) both seem to be a stress relief. like the yoga stuff.... which is hilarious and understandable at the same time. Imagine being a CEO of an establishment as big as Starkiller... and your company being exploded? poor boi ... (as a manager & economics major I would love to avoid the explosion part xd but yeah smikong and a furry being + yoga is stress relief at its finest *speaks from experience*)
I have come to stan Hux for some weird reason? Maybe kylux. Probably Kylux. Thats where all the new infos on hux were posted anyways, all headcanons, aus, ideas...
I love Hux, and I really felt a bit bad for him being choked and thrown around in the last Jedi... But it also seems pretty in-character to me. Millicent is always such a sweet addition to fics!
I love how much you discussed about the conception of fanon about Hux. It's such a cool phenomenon that loads of people look at fan art of him smoking or drinking tea and say "Hmmm... Yep! That totally makes sense. Let's make more of that." What a lovely world.
I don't really care about Hux apart from Kylux stuff, but I do love Millicent. ^_^ And you for talking about her for nine minutes! This channel ROCKS! :D
Even though I am a subscriber and Kylux shipper, I almost skipped this video. I'm glad I didn't. I hated the treatment of Hux in TLJ, but the fact that he still lives gives me hope. I personally hate cats and am not that into Millicent in Kylux fics, but it is very interesting to find out where she came from and learn about the other things that have been used to humanize Hux for people. Keep up the good work, SGG!
I remember in my early days in the MCU fandom back in 2013 feeling a bit uncomfortable with the general large amount of positive headcannons of Loki and at the time I felt it undermined all the bad things he did as a villan. I am now much wiser and can more easily separate works in fandom and the source material. I realised that I generalised and assumed alot about the people making headcannons and having discussions in general. Just because someone gave Loki a redemtion arc in their fic doesn't mean they condone his actions and often work hard to address all the bad things he did within the work. I know it's a bit different with Huxley especially with all the Nazi symbolism surrounding his character but making assumptions about a person based on what they headcannon is unfair. I do think it's possible for positive discourse to be had about fandom's relationship with its villainous characters but shaming and judging people for wanting to give Hux a cat isn't fair and we should all be able to have fun in fandom
I think Hux's characterization in TLJ was an expansion of his characterization in TFA. At first he was introduced as a capable, passionate, yet sensible general of the First Order. All of the successful strategies and technological development can be accredited to him. His first failure - which isn't even technically his but once again Kylo's - is the loss of the Starkiller base. Some time after this event, in the second movie we get to see a much more disheveled, sickly, irritable version of him Which is, psychologically a very accurate reaction of a person with his past. According to canon materials and background info, he was raised to be a military officer form a young age by a strict, abusive father. He was frequently overcriticized and humiliated, but sometimes overpraised with promises of great power. He grew up to be a maladaptive perfectionist (such a trait develops when a child's every small mistake is treated as a catastrophe) who couldn't cope with his first great loss. In the second movie, he looks seriously sleep-deprived, loses his temper at personal insults, his fear of authority is re-ignited by Kylo and Snoke, his sense of control is slipping and can't fully focus during battles, leading to even more losses. He's kind of a mentally fragile genius. But he did contribute to the First Order greatly between the two movies: The development of hyperspace tracking. The fact that this didn't elate his mood at all just proves how poor his self esteem really is. All this fleshed-out realistic, relatable characterization made Hux so popular I think. And in the situation he grew up in, he really had no other choice. He has always just wanted to be respected and appreciated. Personal, loving bonds have never been encouraged in the First Order, so it's easy, even encouraged for him to not care about all the destruction he does. Not extraordinarily heroic, not right, but very human. ...And I think this is how his nazi parallels and the humanizing elements can coexist. Since it's too far in history, we often forget that the scariest thing about nazism was how evil can become so normalized. That nazis came in all flavors; sadistic, deeply hateful, loyal to the country, "just doing their job", brainwashed, doing it for community approval... They were people, not some irredeemable evil. Knowing this is human nature is too horrible to be true ...right? (No.) So after writing this huge... uh... text, I just wanna say I'm unapologetically rooting Hux and want him to reach his goals and be happy. Cats, tea yoga, smokes and world domination. :D
Millicent!!! ^^ Thank you so much for explaining it! You are the best! I loved the idea of Hux having a ginger cat, the art and the fanfiction that included her, but had no clue about where the kitty came from!! It's so great to see that some of the people behind the production of these movies still have so much talent and sense of humor that they can even create such things for the fandom (consciously or not ^^). And regarding Hux in the movies... I have to admit that I actually started liking the character THROUGH the fanfiction and fanart, because on Ep.VII... Let's just say that he wasn't my favorite. I liked him faaaaar more in TLJ and I enjoyed that they kept on working on the rivalry-complicity(?) of he and Kylo (Kylux foreva, in case it wasn't clear). But... I'm preeeeety sure that in Ep.IX his story and his relationship with Kylo are going to be resolved super duper poorly TT_TT I really hope I'm wrong, though... ¡Muchas gracias por tus videos!! Sobre todo los que tratan de Kylux me dan la vida ^^
I kinda like Hux's angry twerp charecterization in the last jedi. Especially after the controversial Snoke twist basically leaves the first order "up the creek without a pattle" in the hands of two unhinged directionless maniacs.
I honestly forgot Hux was first introduced in TFA and had mistaken him for one of the new faces in TLJ. I didn't have much of an interest in his character but I quite like this headcanon as it gives him more of a personality as you said than simply being the "power-hungry, kind of Snoke's chew toy, Nazi-ish bad guy."
I love it. It just shows that even though his background is pretty dark and not much people like him that he's still a human being. It just makes my heart Happy that he loves his cat, Millicent.
I'm fine with Hux in TLJ, he didn't get far in the FO due to his skill, he got there through backstabbing and murder, even the most loyal troops had issues with him, save Phasma unless she had to kill him to save her skin, Hux not being the best tactician is understandable, he underestimated his enemy and was not the best to begin with Also now I wonder how Phasma would treat Milicent, not gonna lie
If your looking for THE best example of fanon, please do video a on Hamilton! It has one of the most deep level and widely accepted fanons there is. In particular, the Liberty Bros. Two characters you can really emphasis are Hercules Mulligan and Thomas Jefferson. Hercules is merely a badass tailor helping the resistance, but in fanon he's an amazing softy who is shipped across the board. And Thomas is a politically ambiguous slave owner, but fanon has created him into a work a holic fashion icon determined to annoy Hamilton. A ship you could also point out is the *iconic* Lams. Laurens and Hamilton, which, has a high probability of being HISTORICALLY ACCURATE. and how that affects our fanon. There's a lot to talk about
Other Hux fanon I've encountered with unclear origin: -Hux is a trained long-distance sniper. This matches his strategic mind but also complements Kylo Ren as a melee fighter. -Hux has a preference for expensive wines and liquor alternatively Hux drinks too much or even ends up an alcoholic (possibly due to guilt from that genocide…). This is comparable with Ren who's mostly depicted as teetotal.
I didn't know about the tweet until after I read a fanfic in which Hux has both a cat and cigarette and was immensely confused (about the cat, not the cigar, I just thought that was very fitting and looked over it). Then I saw the tweet and now am obsessed with the fan art.
I don't know why... but I fucking loooove hux, dunno if it is what some people write about him or what. (Had a mini heart attack when I saw the tittle of the video)
pablo says it, so it goes in my book. i didnt necessarily have any opinion on hux upon initial viewing of TFA, seeing how i was MUCH more attracted to kylo ren and his character, but considering how hux is a part of kylo rens whole arc, ive come to rly enjoy him. hes such a sniveling little weasel, and frankly a raging asshole, and i LOVE him for it. him and ren are very good counterparts to the hero characters, it wouldnt be star wars without kickass villains. i love him, i love ren, and i love millicent and the fact that shes not been declawed and she shits in kylos weird ashbox, and that hux lets her.
I don't mind Millicent, though I don't like it that much when he's smoking since I don't like smoking generally. In the last Jedi I felt that he was potrayed a bit weak, though I liked to see his sadistic side shine through more (in that scene with Finn). Now I'm dreading his death in the next movie, it feels inevitable... but he'll always live in the fandom, always something.
Belive it or not I`ve neverd about Millicent, but now that I have I will certainly be looking for fics and fan art involving her. I just love cats so much!!!!!! As for Hux himself, I`m not a big fan of the character, but I do like the actor.
I am not a regular of teh Star Wars fandom but there is a trope of giving a humanising feature to a Bad Guy character to put their bad characteristics in stark relief. I don't recall the name but it is something like "Pet the Dog" or "Pet the Cat" because one of the easiest to pinpoint version of it is the Bad Guy with a pet that he cares about (while coldly murdering humans offhand). I feel Hux having a cat is exactly that trope.
Hux has become my favourite Star Wars character and I hope that he gets a lot of screen time in the next movie, or a prequel movie of his teen life. I can't imagine not seeing any more of Hux after the next movie. That would be devistating. And I love the idea of Millicent being his cat.
A popular head canon for the Pjo fandom is that everyone from the 7 plus Nico, Will, and Charisse would name there child or children after fallen heroes, specially Nico and Will naming their daughter Bianca is almost always there and Charisse naming her daughter Salina is just as popular. Another popular head cannon regards Jason beings a big shipper of Solangelo and Will or Nico calling the other sunshine.
I don't know if you would have seen it, but you should really check out the Norwegian show "Skam." It's really good and also ships galore :) I think a video on it besides just a me and a few friends fangirling would be awesome.
I don't know if you're done with this ship or not, but I have encountered something in it ihave not seen much in other ships. We call them Adjacent ships. We take other roles played by the actors and ship those two characters together. They're diverse and crazy and there has been some bleed into and from other ships. In Kylux the biggest is Techienician, making Matt the Radar Technician into his own distinct separate character from Kylo Ren and pairing him with Domhnall Gleeson's role in Dredd as The "Clan Techie" who was later named in Dredd Canon as Bill Huxley, believed to be a direct reference to the actor's other roles. We also have Clydesland, Clyde Logan from Logan Lucky, and Stensland from Crash Pad. And many other characters and combinations. I saw some in the Newmann Pacific Rim ship, using for example Owen from Torchwood and Charlie Kelly from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I have heard that this was a common phenomenon in a previous ship fandom, but I have not seen it before or elsewhere.
Omg he looks like his cat... Dawww!!!!! Ps shippersguidetothegalaxy sorry about my comment on the kylux vid I won’t ship bash anymore Also I ship kylux now in fanon if that makes sense like I don’t want it to be canon but I enjoy it
I never especially cared for Hux -- he was kind of nameless space villain #37 for me -- and I hadn't heard of this before now, but I already love Millicent. Can Huxicent be my new BrOTP? I'm here for this :)
I didn’t like how Hux was always getting beat up in TLJ, (although it was strangely adorable) like all his plans where really good and kylo was just a stupid emotional idiot. If they listened to Hux the empire would have a chance. #Hux4SupremeLeader
Talking about headcanons, I wonder about nicknames in Harry Potter. Why is Hermione called Hermy in fanfics? I know in Order if the Phoenix, she got called Herm, but that was sort of a one-time thing. And the same with Voldemort! Who was the first to give him the nickname Voldy? Speaking of him, have you seen the fan movie? What do you think of it? Will you do a video about it?
I'm a simple person if someone has a cat he can't be evil. Never liked Hux, now I think that he probably has many childhood traumas as Kylo Ren. I'm seriously rooting more for the dark side because everyone seems so needy for a hug.
Love your vids! I was wondering when some of your Femslash vids were coming, I don't mean to be impatient sorry but I just love your videos sooo much😄😄😄 😍😍
As a (soon to be) Hux cosplayer, who usually takes a more humorous approach to his character, how could I not love Millicent? Besides, he owns a cat and he's ginger. That's all the relatability that I need. Though as a long-time follower of Pablo Hidalgo, I think we can take the #canon with a grain of salt... He loves being a troll (and I love that too). I love this concept of fanons that become so popular that some just accepts them as basically canon - even if I don't love all of them. As for ones to see covered... Idk, but it would be fun to see a video about 00Q that blossomed forth big time after Skyfall, with James Bond and Q, even if it's rather small and old now, where basically 75% of all fics could be summarized by "Q has a cat and drinks tea. Bond breaks into his apartment after missions. Hijinks ensues" - and I have no idea how that started! (Funnily enough though, in Spectre, Q does mention having cats! Did someone on the script team read fanfiction?)
Oh and for "well-accepted fanons", I think the fandom with the most ones that I've personally encountered was in the Les Amis de l'ABC sub-fandom of the Les Mis fandom (even though I was more into the Javert and Valjean dynamic, I spent a lot of time with Les Amis). There are such specific ideas about how these characters should be written and drawn (or namned! Because Victor Hugo wanted us all to suffer. They're all called Jean now, okay?), that there was sometimes infighting because people deviated from the standard headcanons.

Btw its also Cannon the millicent chases mouse droids 😄
I love your videos and how you explain things, also if I may ask have you watch stranger things? If so have you hear from the couple of steve/billy? (Sorry for bad English ) truly love your videos they are amazing
I love the idea of a sadist like Hux relaxing in his quarters with a cat named Millicent. He would probably appreciate the killer instinct in his small companion and marvel at the evolutionary perfection that produced such a perfect hunter, from protractable claws and daggers for her teeth to eyes which see in extremely low light and ears that can hear well beyond human range. Her intelligence and cunning would create in his mind a diversion from the grind of his daily life, and she would no doubt hunt and kill anything she found and bring it to her human as a gift. She's probably witnessed many executions, all with the detached gaze of a soul who cares little for human life. In short, Hux's character wouldn't actually have to change to accommodate a cat in cano. Powermad megalomaniacs have had cats before, from Ernst Blofeldt to Vito Corleone to Gargamel. Somehow the sight of an imperious Hux holding his ginger tabby lovingly while sentencing some hapless soul to death would be even scarier than if she wasn't there.
Ah thank you I was wondering where Millicent came from! I both love and hate Hux to be honest and reading fiction with him having a cat just made me laugh, because I could see him being a cat person XD
I’m a bit new to the fandom (joined when TFA was released) but can anyone explain who those people in 3:20 is?? And what did they do to the fans? (In terms of attitude I presume) I know Pablo is the go to person. Whenever u have questions?????????????
I have mixed feelings about Hux in TLJ I didn't really liked the fact that he was mocked too much I hope he will tzke his revenge on Kylo after the look he gave him at the end
I believe Millicent exists, and I love her.
heirhelle i want a cat and name her millie !
Yeah i love her to and my father mr ten wants to kill her but got it
Millie the cocker spaniel (or ruby cavalier king charles spaniel) that's my take on it!
Love Hux and love Millicent. Honestly i started liking Hux and Kylux because i love Domhnall Gleeson, but i prefer way more the fandom version Hux than the movies, it's way more fun.
I agree

I never really noticed the smoking or tea thing.
Ok, but what if Millie was a dog? Domhnall doesn't like cats so.. it'd make more sense for her to be a dog
@@elenacarin9153 Hux is way too uptight and seems like he'd be too much of a neat freak for a dog. A cat makes more sense for Hux.
I love Hux!!! I love Millicent!!!!! I love Kylux!!!😍😍😍😍

Ben Welsh Nazis own Catzis

Well, considering the cat, he must also spend an awful lot of time cleaning the cat hairs from that all black uniform xD
The running joke is that you sometimes can't tell if the orange hair on the uniform belongs to the cat or the owner.

I love Millicent, she is such an awesome detail and I love to know where it comes from.
I’m total Kylux trash and I love stupid fake details like this. Great video, *snaps of appreciation*

I love General Hux. And his cat
I love Hux and his cat ❤️
Hux has become my favourite Star Wars character and I hope that he gets a lot of screen time in the next movie, or a prequel movie of his teen life. I can't imagine not seeing any more of Hux after the next movie. That would be devistating. And I love the idea of Millicent being his cat.
#millicentforprez2k20
I made my sister a General Hux figure and made a Millicent out of orange felt to go with him.
Awwww cute ! ☺️
Always a sucker for cats
Make cats look less like they're from earth but still are reminiscent of cats and I'm sold on Millicent.
Yes!!! Thank you for this, I love Millicent!
Hux doing yoga?OMG I LOVE THIS IDEA SO MUCHHHHH
I love stories about men and their cats.
WHOA. Thank you so much for the fic shoutout!! Hux smoking is love, Hux smoking is life.
Love Millicent , love hux !
I love how Stephen Moffat is included in 'those who say nothing'.
Lol he was included in those who don't have a great fandom rep :)
I'm just crazy about the general. But hey, the cat's cool too.
Loving that look, dude. That 'For Da Club' look suits you plenty.
I ship Hux and his cat.
Omg he looks like his cat...
Dawww!!!!!
Ps shippersguidetothegalaxy sorry about my comment on the kylux vid I won’t ship bash anymore
Also I ship kylux now in fanon if that makes sense like I don’t want it to be canon but I enjoy it
The cat is the only reason I care about Hux
Awww...I honestly don't like Hux, but I can't hate a man who loves cats completely.
I never especially cared for Hux -- he was kind of nameless space villain #37 for me -- and I hadn't heard of this before now, but I already love Millicent. Can Huxicent be my new BrOTP? I'm here for this :)
Last night I found a cat collar with the name Millicent
thanks for uploading this!
All remaining systems will BOW to the first order!!!!
The beginning of my love.
I didn’t like how Hux was always getting beat up in TLJ, (although it was strangely adorable) like all his plans where really good and kylo was just a stupid emotional idiot. If they listened to Hux the empire would have a chance. #Hux4SupremeLeader
Hahahh I’m glad to know where this originated from!!! Because this is in almost every fic I read from this pairing 💕
I didn't know about the cat, thank you.
This is my new favorite video ever😍
Borderline sadistic? One of our shared traits. Love the Kylux vid.
i love all of your kylux videos
Oh god the things I'd let General Hux do to me!
Will you do a video about it?
millicent is my god!!! ^, ,^
Then you're a heathen
I loooooove hux!!!
I'm a simple person if someone has a cat he can't be evil. Never liked Hux, now I think that he probably has many childhood traumas as Kylo Ren. I'm seriously rooting more for the dark side because everyone seems so needy for a hug.
I would like an episode about the very polemical Snamione ship, one day ;)
Tempted to write a fic giving him a dog name kiladollar...
Not even into Star Wars lately but simply this good characters have layers. Especially villians. All One Piece fans know this.
Creek from South Park, please!

I would love to see a video on the pro's and con's between Doujin and fan fic
Have you read the Kylux AU Fanfiction "Flyboys" ? It's amazing, 10/10 would recommend haha
I didn't like how abused Hux was in The Last Jedi 😅
i love both of them!!!!
I love your videos and how you explain things, also if I may ask have you watch stranger things? If so have you hear from the couple of steve/billy? (Sorry for bad English ) truly love your videos they are amazing
Clint Barton and Vents - so fanon I honestly thought it was Canon for years
I love the idea of a sadist like Hux relaxing in his quarters with a cat named Millicent. Somehow the sight of an imperious Hux holding his ginger tabby lovingly while sentencing some hapless soul to death would be even scarier than if she wasn't there.
do a video on the red pants monday in the johnlock fandom of sherlock
Hey! Your videos are always amazing! Can you a video discussing original/fan characters in fandom?
Pfft great job on the speech
Ah thank you I was wondering where Millicent came from! I both love and hate Hux to be honest and reading fiction with him having a cat just made me laugh, because I could see him being a cat person XD
I’m a bit new to the fandom (joined when TFA was released) but can anyone explain who those people in 3:20 is?? And what did they do to the fans? (In terms of attitude I presume) I know Pablo is the go to person. Whenever u have questions?????????????
I like the smoking detail
I have mixed feelings about Hux in TLJ I didn't really liked the fact that he was mocked too much I hope he will tzke his revenge on Kylo after the look he gave him at the end
Still waiting for a Degrassi ship like.....
AWWWWWWWWWWWW
Agggghhhhhhh yes i just discovered your channel and im in love can you tell by all my comments haha
