As someone who was an addict for nearly a decade, I can tell you that NO ONE is getting through withdrawals in one night, without Ibogaine. It’s the only thing that can give you relief without being sick, and without it being a maintenance drug like Suboxone or Methadone. But man, looking at him sweat in that bed, made me feel AWFUL lol. I know exactly what that feels like, but worse than the sweats and tossing and turning, is the feeling in your head. It’s like a feeling of impending doom. Like everything is terrible and never going to get better. It’s the worst feeling ever. I don’t miss it one bit lol
I've had a sense of impending doom as a side effect from a medication before. That was seriously the worst. I was very thankful the doctors recognized it as a known but rare side effect and gave me a counteracting medication. I didn't realize that was something people experiencing withdraw might go through. Damn.

I’ve always explained that addiction is like drowning. It’s like treading water in a storm, and you’re fighting to just get your head above water long enough to get a breath. That “breath”, is your hit of the drug. When you’re not breathing (using), you’re drowning. It’s the worst feeling in the world, and like drowning, it’s all consuming. It’s as real as drowning to the addict too. That’s why and how addicts will do crazy things to get their fix. Because to them, they literally feel like they’re dying. Obviously some drugs are worse than others when it comes to withdrawal, but if you’ve experienced Benzo or Opiate withdrawal, that’s exactly what it’s like.
i had that feeling when i accidentally took a second antidepressant pill for smoking cessation one night. amazing to me that an antidepressant can make you so depressed. I had never experienced depression before so it was quite a surprise and even though I understood it wasn't a real feeling I still felt the impending doom and had to call someone to get through it.
This show is one of the most amazing things I have ever watched. If you're watching the recap thinking it wouldn't be worth it to watch the show after hearing all the spoilers, you'll be missing out.
