Mint dump find right there. A few years ago I found a old stihl 025 chainsaw in the dump. It didn't have a recoil on it so I turned the flywheel by hand it had pretty good compression so I tossed it in the back of my truck and fixed it up damn near replaced every soft part on it. And now it's my go to chainsaw. And iv used that saw for clear cutting land and cutting cords of firewood. Definitely one of the best saws iv ever owned.
We were just talking about this. Almost identical to the Snapper SP80 left out for the trash I found 3 weeks ago. Looks like only difference mine is 7.25 engine. 0 issues took it home cleaned off and it fired right up using it today 👍🏽
@@HomeGaragechannel yes great find. I found a Troy Bolt similar to that snapper.. I thought the engine was " stuck" at first.. but it was the pull rope starter Mechanism..it has come apart
this trimmer only requires the universal fuel lines a filter, these don't require anything specific to that mode. Go to your local Ace hardware, Lowes, or Home Depot and they carry universal fuel line/filter kits.
It looked like you didn't have enough reach with the bottle jack and piece of wood. Just in case you don't know, the top of the bottle jack ram should unscrew, giving you an additional 4 to 6 inches of reach.
You're underthinking it. When I see people on a dump run, they have dead mowers... & about 770lbs of other waste products along with it. Even saw a mouse once, running back & forth on the rear bumper of old Ford pick up, looking to bail as it rolled through the outward-bound scales... He decided to remain onboard. lol. (it was about 18 inches to the ground). Smart Mouse! Dumping stuff feels so GOOOOOD.
A story, took the 30 year topping off my deck to revitalize it (75 16x5's mostly in decent shape). WM said it was to large as you are allowed to throw two large items out per week. I had my daughter put in an ad in some online site and the next day we received a call to come and pick it up and it was used to make a wheel chair ramp; the guy was grateful as the expense to buy new was prohibitive. Did the same with 30 year old laminate flooring 600 square feet worth; next day someone wanted it for their basement project. As the old saying goes, someones junk is another's gold. Didn't know you had a second channel.
I have thrown one trimmer away because it was an older Ryobi that I took the shaft off of to put on a different trimmer. My cub cadet ran and needed a straight shaft (it was a curve shaft, but the parts weren't worth buying to fix it, so I swapped it). I used that trimmer yesterday to clean up an overgrown yard, it doesn't have the power of my 2620 echo, but it ran well.
which one, the recent on, or the video from a few years ago? The recent one is doing good. I did replace the camshaft with one with a working compression release. The one from a few years ago, I gave to a coworker and they're using it as back up mower. As far as I know it's still running strong.
I have picked up mowers from the dump but the local one charges you depending on what u have , if its a few bags usually free, it's been awhile since I've been to the dumpster pick up one in the last time I did that guy there asked me just a few dollars to take it out of the trash dumpster they threw it in
That's a shame. Snappers are well built. Kudos for saving it. I go the dump at least once a week to dispose of trash and yard waste. I never see anything like mowers there.
Hi Home Garage, I recently got me an Echo PB 755 ST backpack blower, & I noticed it needed new fuel lines & air filter so I ordered the kit with the carburetor, & I put the new carburetor on & it was running fine until I noticed there was a leak & I started losing power, do u have any tips on how to fix a leak on a carburetor? I had to put the old one back & doesn’t leak like the new one, which I find really odd, I was scared the blower wasn’t gonna start back up, i put the old carb & started back up right away
A few things I have found from being discarded have been when the owner has paid to get a place cleaned up thinking $500/ $1000 to tidy up means $10000 more on the sale of the house. So its a plus for them, and a plus for you.
Thats a great find! And an easy fix! I have a question for you, what are the signs that a carburetor needs cleaned or replaced on a stihl weedeater? Will it bog down when you try to rev it up or will it not start at all? I had messaged you some on Sunday and Monday and you told me to check the exhaust port and it seems to be functioning properly so I just wonder if my problem is just a carb problem, and by the way is a Stihl FS90R that I have
I had 2 dead mowers & a mower engine in a pile in my yard. The woman was dong sping cleaning and she asked me if I was going to keep the engine. I said yes. But, she threw both my mowers away. I was saving them for the recycle value. But, I was in no hurry to get the money, so I was just sitting on them. And, I was in no hurry to tear them apart, and make them into smaller piles. I felt like they were easier to deal with whole. She got rid of them because she didn't see the value in them that I did. The engines were bad, but they were mostly complete.
You got LUCKY! My last 2 mowers were "throw a ways". Fixes: #1) Someone was using 2 cycle gas in a 4 cycle mower #2 The carburetor Float needle was stuck in the seat. P.S. I think the oil had never been changed in either mower.
Is it just me or is the design of the two-section handle incorrect ? I acquired a similar mower and noticed that in the lower section of the handle there are plastic knobs with a shouldered carriage bolt as well as a short nut & bolt at the area where the handle can be FOLDED to minimize LENGTH. I took a hacksaw and cut a slot on each lower section tip instead of just a hole for the bolt above the plastic knobs. This way, I can loosen the plastic knobs partially and pull the top handle out about half an inch so that the short bolts can be slid out of the notch, and the top longer section can be folded over the motor. . Much easier than twisting the knobs off completely for folding and storage.
not to my mind but yeah if i pick up something that looks good from the dump or whatever or wherever i fancy and i say it,s got all that they say from compression spark and good combustion pop well it,s worth fixing up etc and the times i have gotten stuff i have fixed it up and it works for sure the next.
