I noticed that, too. KCD1 is my favorite game of all time, and I haven't watched anything but the trailers, and this, because I want to be surprised. I'm glad I watched this, though, because this looks AWESOME! I spent hours crafting potions in the first one, it was really fun and kind of relaxing to do (unless you had Mutt with you, and he'd howl all night long, haha, I finally sent him home every time i started an alchemy session after that). I'm going to spend so much time making weapons to sell. THIS GAME IS GOING TO BE PERFECT (for me).
This game like the last one is continuing to push gaming to higher and better heights. Lately games have been pretty stagnant on their in game interactions and activities. I cant wait till the 4th.
A tip I used in KCD 1 was to use a torch while sharpening. This is because the torch light would highlights the edge so you can see the sharpening progress. With this new system, which I really like, I don't know useful light will be, but it might be worth trying.
another tip for KCD 1 is use the cheapest weapon you got (butcher knife or carpentry axe) and make it blunt on the grindstone and then repair it with the repair kit then make it blunt again and repair it again because the weapons are very cheap it takes almost nothing from your repair kit so you will be level 20 in 10 minutes
This is pretty cool. its clear the people who made this actually have some knowledge of blacksmithing. One of the obvious signs that you have started to burn your steel is when it starts throwing sparks like that. Unless you are forge welding, then its a sign that your piece of hot enough that it has a sticky surface and will tack together. But fully capturing the process of shaping a sword would be near impossible without becoming tedious and complicated. This is far more than any other game has ever tried before.
@@liamwalsh3925 yeah burning your piece is a pain in the neck and one of the reasons why I switched from coal to gas despite really liking the smell of the coal forge. @chaitanyagupta6668 cyberpunk blatantly kept any review copies from showing gameplay ahead of its release, only released pc copies for testing and held back information in regard to how well it ran on the ps4 and xbox hardware ahead of the current gen we have now. Warhorse studios have proudly allowed many reviewers and game channels full access to the game, and have allowed them to showcase massive chunks of gameplay, and they pulled their release forward from its original window because of its level of polish and the fact warhorse know the game is ready for release. I'm all for being cautious, but I can tell you right now that kc2 and cyberpunk 2077 are two worlds apart when you look at the lead up to the initial release.
@@chaitanyagupta6668 You're mindset is correct, but applied to the wrong place. This game's been extensively shown and reviewed. Lot's of gameplay available even before release. Hell, this guy's showing off a mechanic I thought we wouldn't see until release!
In the first game there was a side quest where you hear about a "spell casting blacksmith" and his swords are basically unbreakable, he was really just singing nursery rhymes for his timing, but he tells you about a method where you quench the sword twice so its even more durable, i wonder if that applies here.
I’m so glad they are adding full on smithing to the game. That was one of my biggest things, as Henry was a smithy. One thing I also hope is that they do another Pribyslavitz type DLC and expand that. Hopefully by the third game it will be so expansive you could build your own in universe city. Let me make a place as legendary as Prague itself. Or maybe it’s not a DLC at all and affects the outcome of my gameplay and endgame
Since the game is historical they won't let you do major things like building a new city that doesn't exist I'm afraid :( even Pribyslavice was a real place
I always felt weird that we can't actually do any smithing, given that we Henry was raised an a blacksmith's apprentice. But it's excelent that we can in this second game!
During a time when AAA companies seem to be hellbent on making mid and bad games that force messaging down your throat, this seems like such a refreshing RPG experience that stays true to historical accuracy and seems honoring of the culture and time. I'm stoked for this.
I wouldn't say any game forces anything down your throat, cause you know, it's entirely and completely your decision to buy or play something. However, I am glad to see an AAA game releasing in a polished state for once. (hopefully)
I don’t care about messaging. There are highly political fantastic games like MGS. Polish, quality and story can be accompanied by heavy messaging. Constantly alluding to a game’s agenda only shows insecurity.
The improvements on the first game is the crazy part. The first game was janky but extremely fun. A polished version with way more content. Gonna be an exceptional game
You can actually make a whole sword in one go, what I would recommend would go from the fire: So while in the fire go to the top part of the sword, use the bellow 3 times, go to the middle and again for 3 times, and the bottom 3 times, now while still at the bottom go another 2, then back to the middle for 2 times, and the top 2 times. :now you go to hammerin’ what you wanna do is raise the hammer till It’s out of the screen POV, (make sure it’s lined up with the blade so you don’t miss) and then release and let it strike, then you wanna just barely flick the thumb stick upwards to move up the sword, then you just move up and then repeat 2-3 (passes on that side of the sword up and down) times on one side and then flip, again 2-3 times on that side, and so long as you did it well (and hit it fast enough while the sword was hot) you can then finish the sword.
Yes, it probably has much better immersive gameplay. Like crafting, skill learning etc. I expect elder scrolls 6 to be just as dumbed down as skyrim. Love skyrim but it's very basic in terms of gameplay.
Yep the first was better than skyrim to me as well, the lack of loading screen when entering basically any building is really nice and I also love how the story plays as well compared to skyrim but skyrim is from 2011 so not fair to compare, maybe fallout 76 but that still is not fair. Better not to compare anyways
@AdoAdo-y1e yes the kcd world feels alive when your in it. This next installment looks fucking amazing. Let warhorse cook. It's better than most other games out today by far.
If the metal starts sparking it’s at the point where any more heat will melt the iron, so when it’s sparkling it’s perfectly hot and easy to hammer. To hot is only when it melts into the coal

I really hope that people will come to commission weapons and tools and that you can run it as a business. It will be fun to become a renowned swordsmith much like your father.
I like they changed the economy of traders/craftsmen to make it so the more you sell one thing the less you get. It use to be way to op to sell meat to the huntsmen at Talmberg in the first game. Considering you could walk 100 yards into the woods shoot 5 deer and ride back and make 1k-2k in 5min. This change will be a welcome one that will help the longevity of the game.
