Lol don't hype yourself. I live here and we have gotten food from here....all I'm going to say is if you want those same portions and food you better show up with JL and these cameras. It's OK bc it's local but I worked in Phillu and you'd be better off staying in the city

Highlights: Black rice, Snapper looking gorgeous, & Ox Tail needs NO introduction. Pineapple ginger soda is a must. Haitian food is FAR too slept on, & more extensive than its Dominican neighbor imo. Loaded with dif flavor profiles from sweet to savory. 👍

yes so happens that he put a lot of gravy on the rice and once thats done its actually soupy and requires to be eaten at a faster pace , happens to me all the time I make a dish soupy with an extreme amount of gravy any food with mucho gravy. on rice, bet it was good.

That Black Haitian rice is called Djon-Djon; it’s cooked with black mushroom concentrate and spices ! Next time, ask if they have Djon Djon w/shrimp cooked in it. That food looks really GOOD !
I had it with crab and shrimp and it was amazing, but you and I both know that's only for special events like parties weddings ..😂😂 etc

I just ate at Shasha’s Creole kitchen this past Saturday and I have found a new fave Carribean food spot! The food was absolutely amazing. Oxtails were fall off the bone tender, Rice was delish and that pumpkin seafood soup was beyond words. Give this restaurant a try! Al was extremely charismatic and welcoming. If you like Caribbean food this place will not disappoint. 😋

The food and the restaurant itself look clean and appetizing. My family is Jamaican though I was born and grew up in Canada, those oxtails and rice and peas and mac and cheese look as good as it get. Not saying it's the greatest, but I would never pass that up.

That’s the funny part about Haitian restaurants, that they’re not known for oxtail, but they’re on the menu.
And most importantly, most oxtail in a Haitian restaurant are bussin’!! It’s like the best-kept secret of Haitian restaurants.
Most people are ordering griot, turkey, or fish in the Haitian restaurants. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menus.
