I actually just finished a mix using smart limit on the stereo bus. I'm now on a lunch break now. I'm eating my favorite food, spaghetti while watching this video.
Happy Sunday, to my favorite channel about mixing... talking about my favorite plug-ins FOR mixing! Sonible absolutely ROCKS!!! 🌞 As for what I am doing while watching this video? Well... something that is very unpopular days, of course.... *PAYING ATTTENTION!!!* 😎😎🙊🙊🎼🎼
This is all great-these reference plugins are super useful. However, I rarely see videos explaining how to actually fix the issues detected with the plugin and reference track in a practical way. If you’ve already made a video like this, or if anyone knows of one, please share the link in a reply! I’d love to see a tutorial focused on how to use these tools to improve our mix and bring it closer to the sound of the chosen reference mix, from a practical, problem-solving perspective. A hands-on guide on addressing these issues would be incredibly valuable!
While watching this video I was mixing, and actually thinking about how I could improve my room / monitoring (it is not ideal). Reading my thoughts, David :) Thank you!
You can also compare your mix balance to a selection of the tracks that are loaded into the right side. But I would appreciate if you could load the tracks that you added in one plugin and saved as a preset also as a preset in the other plugin. But afaik you have to load them again and save the preset in every plugin independently. Makes sense for the settings of the different meters but would be nice to have different presets for your reference tracks so you can use them in both tracks from the drop down selection.
Love using Sonible! Are usually listen to your videos in the car on the way to/from work. The speaker system is decent and I’m very familiar with the way my mixes/music translate.
I really can't understand what is wrong with True Balance. If I trust it for matching my track with my reference, I have to apply almost +12dB in my low end (below 500hz), my track sounds like shit this way and completely different than the reference. If I instead use (as usual) Izotope Tonal Balance Control to do the matching, my track sound amazing and almost identical to the reference. Is it me or this plugin has a big issue? Looking for your opinions.
@BERT for me i prefer TBC and ADPTR Metric AB (that i forgot to mention). I wanna know if one of those new plugins brings some new feature to the game.
I totally agrre with You, I bough the Smart bundle and Metering bundle as well, fantastic. Fast Bundle of Focusrite is the same sw, I remember Sonible collaborated with Focusrite ti develop this bundle, isn't It ?
I used it, but didnt really see much utility when Tonal balance control2 has been out for so long now. Sure it has some niceties on it, but its not that much of a large departure in my opinion. I was hoping for a lot more from the plugin.
It's Sunday night in San Diego after a brutal run around the lagoon, and I'm stretched out on the couch with my cat (named Dude) waiting for food to be delivered. I'm a big fan of Tonal Balance Control. It really seems to help my mixes (mostly weird electronic dark pop, you might call it) translate better. Cheers and thanks for all you do. Five years I've been watching and learning from the best. 🙏🏻
Yooo!!! with all these wonderful plugins that Sonible are making just makes me wonder what's the next Fabfilter bundle is gunna be like "This is good for the audio engineering space ......
I think when I had no synths and worse plugs I made better music LOL made me work/create/improvise more :) For mastering seems just need perfect tools to stop suffering while mastering. Need to stop on something reliable. TNX!

Not a fan of these plugins whatsoever. It's A.I generated. Do you really think this plugin couldn't auto adjust Dynamic range and peak/loudness on it's own. It's directly designed to give you those hints to make you feel somewhat in "control". We need to keep creativity and full control alive! Or it wouldn't be called Audio Engineering if you let the A.I do the work for you. This is not Productive
@@mixbustv The next version of this plugin will automatically adjust your dynamic range, peak and loudness. This plugin already has built in A.I programing to generate and processes these lvls on it's own. It's concerning because these are AI-powered algorithms that are used to personalize recommendations and preferences.

I appreciate how you showed how these meters respond to audio and to reference the values with a grain of salt.

I am totally digging spectral balance, it’s becoming part of my template. I am hoping that this can talk to smart eq in the future…

❤️
Great as always David! I’m watching the F1 race while watching this 😁
Sonible's really a powerhouse. They seem to get how to make good tools with a capital "T".
A must have. Love Sonible
Just evolve from Tone balance from Izotope
Thanks for the review...cheers

How they compare to “Balance” from Mastering the Mix and “Tonal Balance Control” from Izotope?
@BERT for me i prefer TBC and ADPTR Metric AB (that i forgot to mention). I wanna know if one of those new plugins brings some new feature to the game.
In my opinion true balance works better than both. It has more options and flexibility
Also paying 200 just for isotopes tonal balance is such a rip off
@@queenpurple8433 I personally find all of iZotope's products to be more resource hungry than all of Sonible's, period...
I do not like anything izotope, interface, sound and results. Izotope are becoming like waves, quantity over quality, not to mention the yearly drama…
I ended my day from mastering music, and am now watching your video!

Is the Sonible one good?? What do you think?
Thanks for the quick walkthrough
What am I doing? Wachting F1 of course. I just bought the bundle this afternoon, so the video is right on time.
Thaaaaanks, David!! 💪💪
