    I prefer a quiet exhaust for sneaking up on employees, but otherwise I prefer a slightly louder bike, so the deer can hear me coming. Because I live in the Sierra Mountains, I have hit 3 deer with my car, and thankfully none on a bike…

    Great video as usual!
    SV 650 is a great custom choice and something normal people can buy unlike the MV, but ye I would have one!
    On the electric bikes issue, I worked in China for a while about 8 yrs ago and there were
    electric scooters /everywhere!!!!
    Unbelievable, method of choice for the commute and I don’t mean stand on variants, proper motor cycles

    In the real world more simple, less ecotic bikes like moto guzzi, triumph, norton suzuki sv650 make sense as servicing, spares and using as everyday transport doesnt suit bikes like ducatis or mv agusta. In my opinion theyre for car drivers who want to pose on sunday runs. In the real world the norton 961 commando is beautiful, great fun with basic design thats so practical even for the home mechanic but even at £17k its still a bike with such great build quality in fit and finish on another level to any other manufacturer. The suzuki sv650 and v strom are such practical, well priced and great bikes, proven over 20 plus years and the sv650 is a true bargain. With speed cameras everywhdre and such high costs to run big bikes especially KTM and MV and harleys they make a lot of sense. Big adventurs bikes like shaft drive triumph 1200 explorers are a lot of bike for the price and are very good for touring 2 up or even yamaha supertenere1200. Ztill its all subjective and the choice, tech and quality nowadays with ABS, rider aids and great design is amazing and maybe im getting old and a bit out of touch.

    It's a grab handle to pull it out of a hedge. And for most beautiful bikes I'd go back further into Ducati's history and pick the bevel 900ss in black and gold from the late 70's. For current bikes, the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello S in Verde ( mine arrives 1st March).

      The 900ss ducati had crankshaft issues and my cousin who had a motorcycle dealership and a mate who owned 900ss confirmed this even though they sere so nice to ride and handling and torque was huge for its day out of those desmo motors.

    I'd take the Superveloce 800 over the 1000, which I think is a bit overstyled. I don't care for the wing on the tail/seat cowl, for example. Sometimes it's time to put down the pencil.
    Great sportbike designs, IMO: Ducati 916-998, MV F4 1000, 2006-2012 Triumph Daytona 675, MV F3, Ducati 1098-1199, Honda VFR 750F (RC 36), Honda VFR 750R. (RC 30), 2004-2006 Yamaha R1, Kawasaki ZX-7R, Moto Guzzi Le Mans to name a few.

    Honda "copying" the Royal Enfield design would certainly be a surprise but I am sure the end product will be of much higher quality/reliability than the Himalayan so consumers win.

    Not really surprised about Cake. More of a lifestyle brand. The future of electric motorcycles still is sure though. But first we need a next generation of affordable, recyclable, sustainable, light weight battery technology. And they are on the horizon. Solid state probably. In the mean time I am working on my own project. Chassis wise I am almost ready but the cost for the electric stuff is still prohibitive. Which brings us back to the previous point.

    • @marcbrasse747
      @marcbrasse747 5 месяцев назад

      @@houseofroos Assuming that is a question: The investment in batteries, controllers and electric motor will already be about Eu 5000 to 6000. One can buy a complete ICE bike for that sort of money. And that is still without a guarantee I’ll ever get it road legal. Then there is battery weight. Like I said: A next generation battery technology is needed. Until that time medium to high performance electric motorcycles will stay expensive.
