Looks good! Probably would be/would have been easier to mount the pings actually in the rock if the holes/rock were a little bigger, as in the size of the ping or more, that way the moss wouldn't take up the whole hole and you could actually sink the ping into the hole, but I'm guessing they will eventually grow on anyway!
@@NateK-MN thanks for watching my vid on mounting pings. Agreed, probably would have been just fine mounting on top of rock, however I wanted to try to drill holes and try the sphagnum moss route. Now, I have options. Still on the look out for larger lava rocks. Went to pet stores, but nothing that I liked.
Appreciate all your kind words. Ping collection is a work in progress and I need to do a mid year update very soon. I don't have a ping rock update as I took these pings off the rocks. They were kind of small for my first time doing this. Just wanted to try. What I plan for in the future is a bigger pingscape that I want to put together plus bigger rocks.
nice! i don't have any pups yet but i do have lava rock, so i'll try this when i see some pop up! also love the beer in the shot, lol! drinking and plant experiments is the best
I just ordered some seeds and I'm sure your viewers would love to see an update on how these guys are doing. And what you've been doing to care for them. I don't see much about pings on lava rocks. And that's what I'm hoping to set up myself! Informative video. A bit long though.
Thanks for watching. Agree a bit long and working on better editing to cut down the time. I’ll do a follow up soon on them, as I’ve kept them in the same glass container and just watering for now.
Thanks for watching and thanks for the offer. Currently not doing ping rocks anymore. Just an experiment. Though I’ll reach out if I change my mind. If you are looking to sell to others. I suggest FB group: Pinguicula Plantation has decent amount of ppl showing off their ping rocks.
Lava rock is porous, but need sphagnum moss to help keep the moisture. Also, just looks cool when you have a bigger lava rock in a terrarium. This one was just experimenting how to get the pings attached.

Thanks for sharing, I hope to do this soon once my pings grow in a little more.
Welcome and thanks for watching. Pings are resilient and do pretty well in most conditions.
Greetings, I’ve seen several of your videos and very impressed with your collection. I was wondering have posted a updated version of ping rocks?

Thanks, appreciate it. They turned out pretty good and haven’t fallen off the rocks. Gotta have a beer while planting and experimenting.
Very cool! Would be fun to see an update!
Thanks. Still growing well. I got another pumice rock, larger that I would like to put together with these two smaller rocks.
Luv it man!
Thank you. Appreciate it.

How’d they fair?
They grew just fine, but I no longer have these rocks. However, I have another ping project I’m working on that involves a larger rock. More to come.
@@mypingtopia looking forward to it
If your still on the hunt for lava rocks I live by fields of it, and lots of huge pieces 😂 I wouldn’t mind shipping some

Why lava rock?
