  • In this (4 min) video, I show how you can perform some quick surface analysis in Civil 3D using the AECCCREATEQUICKCROSSSECTIONS command. In short, this is a non-destructive form of analysis in that when the command is complete all geometry generated by the command is removed. (Very similar in concept to the Quick Profile command)

well done! I DO like this! Wondering if you can select multiple surfaces within the AECCREATEQUICKCROSSSECTIONS command. I will give this command a look-see when I strap back in to the command station HQ. Thanks so much, you have great delivery and confidence in your tutorials, really enjoy! Mike

That's really good, how can slopes be added to cross sections created from a single surface where there is no corridor?

Hi - thanks for the video. Could you share the "road section" style?

I thought the same thing. 4 years later and maybe you figured this out already, Did you? My guess is that I will be taking screen snapshots when I try this out on my own. Hope you are well!

When you save CIVIL 3D DWG file quick section / profile view disappear. Don't save CIVIL 3D dwg file and use _EXPORTC3DDRAWING command. Then open the "flat" exported DWG, copy and paste the section/profile view into CIVIL 3D DWG file. Now save CIVIL 3D DWG file.
