Larry’s design is so smart. His suit looks plain and normal at a glance, but looking closer there’s also a lot of flying-type details. Besides his cloud pattern tie, he also has stuff like windswept hair and feather-shaped lapels.
Coupled with the fact that his only weakness before was Fighting type, and now he trounces Fighting types, catches everyone off guard.
The funny thing about the guy guarding the door: He lets you in no matter how many badges you have.
I thought you have to glitch in but the question stop you from getting in
@@galonski64 you can get in at any time and take the interview portion. You just can’t pass the interview until you have 8 badges.
@@chrayez I never tried, and maybe it was mis information I read. I just remember reading someone talking about, it easy to glitch in, but yeah, can't do the battle, cause of the interview.
16:35 Yeah I totally agree. As cool and unsettling as the clean, simple, sterile rooms are, the super fancy type themed rooms were always super cool. I think the high mark was X and Y. Seeing the fire blaring from the sconces in Malva’s chamber was so epic.
And with that amazing elite 4 music? Absolutely
and walking across a giant dragon? 10/10 no comments
Ah, the most terrifying part of the Elite Four: The oral exam part.
Funnily enough, you *CAN* fail the interview, the fact it's possible to happen is hilarious
And it gets even funnier when you realize that Rika mumbles under their breath, "I wonder why you fumbled last time." Or something like that.

35:14 my favorite part about the Larry reveal is thathe never said what his other job is besides being a gym leader, but because most people were distracted by him being an actual salary man, it slipped under the radar
Poppy aside, this Elite Four group is a personal favorite. Rika is very pretty, Hassel is my favorite teacher, and Larry is Larry. I do think the environment was boring, but as another commenter pointed out, the Elite Four and Champion thing doesn't seem to be as much of a big deal as it is in other regions, so it kinda makes sense. Just be glad y'all didn't get the music glitch
The music glitch was patched some time ago. If they have the DLC icon on the menu (which they do) then they do not have the music glitch.
He has three jobs his day job is being a businessman for the Paldea Pokémon League (website character bio and gym description)
I kinda like the more sterile, professional environment the League has this time around. I prefer the super needlessly extravagant rooms they had in previous gens, but I think they tried something new and it works pretty well. Especially with the E4 members they actually have this time around, and then Poppy just to bring a bit of contrast and remind you that literal children are competing here
This singular boring room for the elite 4 is interesting because it's so actually realistic. If something like this were real, they would 100% have a just boring gymnasium with rubber walls for safety or otherwise made of something easy to clean.
Larry is hilarious. He very much doesn't want to be here lol
Apparently the reason they yell at each other to come in for challengers is because the bell they usually use has been broken for months and management couldn't get anyone to fix it.

21:00 Elite Four actually uses the types of all the titans. Including Geeta covering for the Rock type with her Tera (ironically also Tyme was originally Rock Gym Leader).

Paldea's League being kinda lame reflects that battling isn't really priority there. It's just something people can do if they feel like it. Like compare it to Galar where it's like, their whole economy to a random building in a field of uncut grass.
Lame? I thought it was fun. Different type, some humor and the battele was a bit challenging with the level I enter

I can tell you who would pick that they don't like pokemon in the interview, Alpharad. Granted he did it because he thought it would say "because I LOVE pokemon." but it does kick you out for saying no. Also I thought Poppy would be ghost because I think she looks like a drifloon. As far as the elite 4 room itself it definitely feels like it was supposed to change with each member even if it was just the color that changed. Also, sadly, you missed that you can go talk to each of the elite 4 in between the fights.
This is personally one of my favorite Elite Fours character-wise, but I have to admit that the battle arena is a bit underwhelming.
I like to think that La Primera decided to put the funding into the academy instead of making huge, personalized, and possibly construction violating rooms for each member of the Elite Four.

It’s kind of fun to watch this RIGHT after getting to the credits for the first time in a long session that started with the elite four because I’m noting things about the animations and designs for them
Funnily enough, if you fail the test and then come back, Rika mumbles under their breath questioning why you fumbled the test the last time.
Only reason I failed was because I couldn't remember which gym Larry was in.

8:20 when I first did the interview I answered "no" because I thought it'd be funny and I failed the exam because of it hahah
you are right, there is a rematch but its a gym leader rematch also a mode where you do random exspert level battles
Fun fact: Some versions of Scarlet and Violet had a glitch where the Elite four and champion themes would loop the first 10 seconds of the song indefinitely. This can be fixed by saving and quitting, but it seems to have been fixed in later patches.

Oh man I hate the job interview questions where they ask the same question in a different way, although I hate the job finding process in general it requires you develop a very specific set of skills that is often not transferable to your actual career.
While I do agree that the room is a bit boring, I do think it makes *some* sense as the Pokémon League generally seems to be less of a big deal in this region

I definitely appreciate the corporate feel of the elite 4 but I agree they could've been more creative with the room design

Rikas a woman, they identified as such with their first appearance. how they look isnt gender neutral either, they have a feminine face but dress for business, simple as that.

@@galonski64 compared to everything else I've seen for Elite 4 rooms, its the most boring as hell out of all of them, heck even Gen 6 elite 4's rooms were awesome.

@@galonski64 That's the only thing I'll give it, would've been cool to see the panels be like tvs which broadcast different environments with each Elite 4 member, the canyons for Rika, Iono's City for Poppy since its the place with the most steel (a bit of a stretch), Just clouds (but only went you start the battle do the clouds come in so that way Larry keeps his secret of using a different type a thing), and Hassel I guess an art room full of statues could work because he's the art teacher.
