Luka Mijatovic Just Broke a 23 Year Old Record

- Luka Mijatovic just CAN'T seem to stop generating INSANELY fast swims lately. A month ago he obliterated his best time in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 4:08.57, he’s still only 16 years old and yet that time would currently rank first in the NCAA this year and would have finished 4th at last year’s NCAA championships. But of course many see a swimmer’s REAL test as what they can do in long course, but thankfully Mijatovic was competing at the US Open where he was about to put his speed on full display, beating some of the fastest swimmers in the world and breaking a 23 year old record in the process.

A 16 year old being faster than anyone in the NCAA is absurd. I can’t imagine what’ll happen when he goes to Texas
if he continues on this trajectory, he's gonna reshape what we thought was possible in mid-distance to distance freestyle.
I legitimately believe he can go 1:27/3:59/8:2x/14:0x in yards
I don’t watch much distance but this kid is insane
Dude needs some underwater kicks and he’s at 3:41
yes, his underwaters can get better. if he trains with Leon in Texas, he could become just as good.
luka is giving me dejavu to how popovici showed up and started destroying junior records in the 100 and 200 out of nowhere.
That’s actually a very interesting comparison. I feel like most people look back on his 2022 season the most but in the lead up to the Tokyo Olympics he was making a ton of noise and dropping absurd amounts of time
MAAAANNNN I LOVE THIS VIDEOSSS
where can we watch the 800 free race from US Open?
On USA swimming network app
He needs to swim the 1500 free and become the first 16 and under American under 15:00
Also I think if he breaks the 800 free WJR he could take it under 7:40 and break Thorpe’s true WJR
