So As a kid I grew up with mostly M.A.S.K. Dino-Riders Sky commanders, when Computer Warriors started to come out I didn't even know it existed, until one day my grandmother took me to a toy liquidation store, if you don't know what that is, think Toys R Us where over stock toys or brands like the Computer Warriors went since they where so far into production before they got the Ax go, find some pretty interesting toy lines there, I stumbled across Computer warriors, marked down from retail, and I loved the ideas, the design and my Grandmother let me pick out a few pieces, they where about 5 buck a pop for each vehicle, so I got the Flashlight, alarm clock, and Calculator. Once I got them back to my grandparents place my grandmother helped me put them together, and put stickers on them, and then we played a little joke on my grandfather, he actually used the flashlight for a week before he realized it was a toy, to be honest I think he was just playing a long with the gag, but that Christmas I was surprised with the rest of the collection, and the first episode on VHS, I played that tape so many times, the tune is stuck in my head like Duck tales, and M.A.S.K. opening. Loved the line concept, had a lot of fun growing up with the toys because it kind of worked with my M.A.S.K. collection, Illusion is the ultimate weapon as it was pointed out in the video this line turned everyday items into pretty cool items... and not we jump to today and Hasbro comes out with bot bots. I seriously think someone should slap a CEO over the head and point Hasbro in the direction of what has been done in the past, only better. It would be like Action Masters 2.0 figures that can't transform but their vehicle/ playsets can. COME ON HASBRO YOU'RE BETTER THAN WHAT YOU'RE DOING!! As for what could be changed in the real world for their vehicles, run this one through your head for a second, they transformed a Computer, into a base, a book into an enemy outpost, calculator in a tank, soccer trophy into an armored tank, flashlight into fighter jet, pencil sharpener into fighter, computer boards into grid flyers, clock into tank, (lots and lots of tanks in this line) and Pepsi can into battle station, so with in reason they can change anything into a weapon, with in reason. I would love to see what they could have done with those BIG figs that was out in stores a few years ago, enter a new battle robot, move over Big Loo, make way Star Brigade. could have been the size of one of those life size Barbies could have had all kinds of hidden features in it like hidden leg mounted cannons, hands could have flipped around revealing hidden gatling neutralizer cannons. Chest could have opened to reveal a docking station for the fliers head could have been the command point where you could have stored you figures, and the mid section could have opened to reveal a jail cell. It could have articulation in the shoulders, elbows wrist head, hip knees and ankles, mid section would be limited due to everything crammed in it, but you could still put it into some wicked posses, best part since it would roughly be neutral piece you could decided if the instrument of destruction would be piloted by the valiant Computer warriors, or under the command of the devastating Computer Viruses. Yeah I know it's a bit much, but this line had SO MUCH it could have done if only given a chance, and it's not like they would have ran out of ideas for toys, new tech new toys. New wireless speaker, I give you Base Cannon, New gamming console I give you new battle station, Alien Ware computer tower, new advanced Battle base with new more powerful Computer warriors, new virus on the internet, new virus for the show, Blue ray player, blue beam blasters. so many things this line could have done through the years if only really given a chance.

I remember watching that on TV one Sunday morning. Maybe it was an obscure LA thing, as there were things in the 80's I remember that no one outside of So Cal remembers. --They also showed the "making of" documentary where they did the computer animation, printed out the frames, and inked and colored the cells.

At the time I was "too old" for them but I remember thinking they were really cool toys and "Why couldn't these have come out a few years ago when I was still a kid?" Funny, considering I was buying up all the old He-man figures I could at discount prices since no one was into them any more and the stores were just trying to get rid of them to free up valuable shelf space for "the next big thing". I wish I still had all my old He-man stuff, but bills and stupid decisions as a youngish adult ya know?

You are too right.... Wish I knew about this as a kid! I had built my first computer (with my Uncle’s guidance) and installed MS-Dos as it’s OS around that time period. Unfortunately TRON had released to early for me to really see since it would have depended on someone renting the VHS and even then, it wasn’t a very popular movie, so it was unlikely most video rental stores in our area would have had a copy. I don’t remember any advertisements for these, and since I would have immediately latched onto wanting them, I’m led to believe I never saw an ad for them. One would think that having brands like Pepsi and Timex having their products turned into a transforming toy would be enough to at least run half a season’s worth of episodes.
Can I visit the alternate universe where TRON and Computer Warriors we’re both huge hits and had a crossover?? I can completely see how the original TRON could have easily crossed over with it’s story and it not conflicting much, if at all, with its own lore.

Wow! Never knew these existed! I would have sold my left arm as a kid for a transforming Pepsi can! Thanks for introducing these to me. Now I’m going to try to hunt some of these down

I had the VHS, a bunch of the figures and the flashlight and computer playset. Toy liquidators was flushing out the supply for next to nothing and my dad thought they were shine of the coolest toys he had ever seen. Lol. I'm still mad that I was robbed of a full series.

Had the Minus' (working) Pencil Sharpener and the Heroic Scanner's (gonna spell that right) Flashlights as a kid. Loved them both but always had a bit of a hard time getting the wings to fit back in upside down when converting back to s sharpener.
    You guys keep outdoing yourselves.

I loved these as a kid. Never had the pepsi can or the book, but I did have some of the cards and the computer. I loved that computer SOOOOOOOO much. sadly, it did not survive my childhood

I still have all these figures and the VHS. That theme song is ingrained in my mind and I still hum it to this day.

I had (technically still have somewhere) all of these and the VHS tape, which surprisingly was just a VHS tape and not a hidden base. I hadn't really thought about them in 20 years. The crazy thing was that a lot of the things actually worked like the calculator and the flashlight. The Pepsi can leaked though...

Thanks so much for the nostalgia yet again Dan! I had the digital clock & the book. Haven’t thought about these in many years. The clock unfortunately didn’t actually work as a functioning clock to tell the time for very long tho.

For 35 years I thought that I imagined my calculator could turn into a tank... My reality has been shaken. Thank you.

For a moment I thought you were showing a clip from the uber obscure "Santa's Christmas Crash" until I realized that no, it was from the National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Which I actually saw for the first time last Christmas.

I had the Pepsi can one, and my brother had the soccer ball. Don’t remember them being from any series that was meant to have a narrative. All I knew was it was a gunhaver dude in a flying space chair, but in a soda can, which was enough for five year old me in 1989 to think was rad.
