I really love how real your stories are. The ones people can relate to. It's my 5th month being full-time filmmaker and I just wanna thank you for helping me grow to that point 🙏🏼♥️🇨🇿
Battery powered lights are so empowering, I have recently transitioned to v-mount batteries for my field gear supplemented by power banks. The weight savings in comparison to coiled extension power cords and cable troughs is amazing. It left me some space for solar panels to charge up my power banks on day time shoots.
Moment of serendipity: Around the time where you first started vlogging, I went and bought those tin lights. I have my first music video shoot in YEARS tomorrow and I have an idea for a light effect that requires it to be clamped to an oscillating fan. Long story short, guess what I found buried in the bottom of my closet this morning 😂😂😂
I bought one during Black Friday, my first V-mount battery. For me where it changed things was the ability to keep it plugged in for long recordings without having to swap the NPF batteries I was using before. Especially when you just need to change settings at home and then have to swap batteries to make sure you always have full batteries on the rig. Now it just stays plugged in until I need to pack it up for a shoot.
We all have been there. When I was a kid, I used a red Christmas light as a darkroom safelight. I was using my parents twin reflex camera so I only needed to make contact prints. Fond memories from a long ago makes you appreciate the gear you have now.
I feel you on this! When I was working at my last job and I learned about v mounts and gold mounts it unlocked a new level to me!! Then seeing ALL the uses and all the things you can power on them!!! Crazy!
Mini v-mounts (especially those with USB-C to replace charging blocks) were a game changer. Also, get that monitor on a low profile nato rail for quick setup/teardown
Love your content, I have been following you for a couple years. Everything you have posted has helped my video journey in some way so thank you, thank you.
I'm still using knock-off China NP-F batteries. It does its job so far. But you are right, the ability to film everywhere anytime not worrying about power is golden!
Your videos are a constant in my career, at every stage I find my self coming back here to receive game that helps me level up. Thank You! @LoneVisionary
Mannnn.. I remember the days of those Home Depot lights, ended up all dented, but they worked! And yes..lighting my first music videos with car headlights! LOL Salute brother! @SpanishFlyMedia
I want to get one and that is my thought as well. But I’m a little confused because if I need to adjust aperture or something my fingers aren’t really near those controls anymore
I like how with v mounts is you can use them as a counterbalance on your rig for comfort. And the flat end is a third point of contact sometimes. The NPFs are a little small for this. SWIM__________________________ (26 underscores)
Glad you talk about v mount because I’ve been making music videos for quite so,e time and this is actually,y first time buying and using a V mount battery and brother! Smallrig is just perfect for my amarán 60 D
Hi Chrystopher, thank you for sharing your camera rig. Have you perfected your wires yet, and would be able to comment that below? I am trying to build out a rig, and I was curious if you're happy with your wire setup now. Thank you!
I just picked up one of these smallrig batteries two days ago, along with a 100W PD charging block. I'm going to test duration to completely discharge and recharge on my rig, and whether it will have enough juice to power the voltage hungry C70 for the full discharge of the battery. I have done the budget v-mount batteries in the past with Wasabi, Neweer, etc, essentially all the same cheap battery with different brand names on them. These cheap budget v-mounts cannot power the C70 after they get to 50% charge which is annoying. If these Smallrig 99's hold up, I will definitely be open to buying a few more to replace the older budget v-mounts.
This was such a good video, can you possibly do some rig ideas/reviews for the Sony A7 series? Some review budget options for cages, monitors tripods etc would be dope.
Just finished building a Sony a7IV rig yesterday and got the vb50, most expensive battery I've ever gotten but I'll definitely have to get another one for when I invest in lights
Let’s goooo!! Dude I’m about to make the switch from the R6 to the R5C due to having a ton of video work. And we all know the battery that canon used won’t even last 30 min 🤣. Cheers to the winner🫶🏼
Most important thing to me is that you can get rid of your lp e6 or npf batteries for monitors/ wireless transmiters and power up everything from one battery, and only care to charge one thing. @engineerfpv
nice! ive been waiting for someone to make that rotating handle for the right side of the camera! i have the one on the left side but the hdmi gets in the way.
Im struggling between this one and the pocket 3 since it has a 1 inch sensor so better low light performance and a bit more separation. man this does look like a lot of fun I gotta say! I need to get one of these two and Im really struggling which one to get! it's harder every day since both have brilliant performance!
How long does the v mount battery last you when paired with the lights? Mainly want them for my amaran 200x and aputure 300d. Thanks again for the content YC! 🤝🏾🤝🏾
Totally unrelated, but small rig also makes a Micro Hdmi to Full Hdmi adapter that I LOVE. Attaches to your cage and you don't have to worry about that flimsy HDMI - @WasionKey
I appreciate you for making this and all your content bruh. Unfortunately the SmallRig batteries are unusable for anyone who owns a V-Raptor or Komodo X. The D Tap port is on the wrong side for my V Raptor making it useless. I like the battery and when I heard that they were coming out with a new version next month, I thought they would move the D Tap port, but nope. I honestly don't understand the logic because I don't have this problem with any other v-mount batteries. The others either have a d tap on both sides or the top or the bottom. They would sell a lot more batteries if they moved that port.
S/O to those silver tin lights, they got me by! Make sure to enter the giveaway!
Greetings from The Netherlands. I can really relate to your struggles. My name ie @EduardoGoeloe and I'm grateful for your knowledge and content!
I really love how real your stories are. The ones people can relate to.

so humble. most people would trip about people in the comments calling out the RUclipsr.

Very proud of the content you have now you been shooting for a long time an you inspire us YC

@CEONTHEMAKING This video right on time!

Totally agree of this handle! I bought it and it change my way of recording videos! Thanks!
I love the way how you tell & film your stories!
That rotating handle is nice!
Love your content, I have been following you for a couple years. Everything you have posted has helped my video journey in some way so thank you, thank you.
Nice Rig nice content. One side question I would like to ask… what desktop would you recommend to edit vlogs?
That battery is definitely a game changer.💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
saw what you did at the end there. Beautiful
Yes sir! Using 1 battery to charge both my camera and monitor is the best thing ever. Wish I bought it sooner
Same here man!!! I just discovered these battery powered LEDs and I feel complete and total freedom. I’m shooting my first feature now

Good simple rig. No need for a top handle. The Side handle on the right makes more sense to manual focus (at least in my case)
I want to get one and that is my thought as well. But I’m a little confused because if I need to adjust aperture or something my fingers aren’t really near those controls anymore

Just finished a Wedding in Atlanta with this on a Sony FX30... all day Power...very Dope!
Swapping out my smallrig wooden side handle for that adjustable asap, looks way more useful. Also just waiting on the Smallrig VB99, excelent battery
You have been inspiring me to go out and just play around to discover new looks. Working with some metal bands in the future!
I also fucked heavy with your last video on how the music video indusrty is and the realities of it. Love to see more of those nuanced takes!
Thank you. I didn't know if I wanted to go with smallrig or neewer. I think you explained that masterfully.
Hi Chrystopher, thank you for sharing your camera rig. Have you perfected your wires yet, and would be able to comment that below? I am trying to build out a rig, and I was curious if you're happy with your wire setup now. Thank you!
That’s me YC 💪🏽
I needed this video i didn’t realize the significance of a cage until now

love love love your grind! always coming back to your videos 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Great video I can’t agree more with you about V batteries!
This was such a good video, can you possibly do some rig ideas/reviews for the Sony A7 series? Some review budget options for cages, monitors tripods etc would be dope.
Storytelling is A1!
The pain of doing a great take, only to realize the audio is bad. Been there, done that!
You have the best voice, man!
thank you! this was the minimal rig setup I was looking for. :)
Just finished building a Sony a7IV rig yesterday and got the vb50, most expensive battery I've ever gotten but I'll definitely have to get another one for when I invest in lights
Them car headlights came in clutch
Glad I found your channel. Keep up the good work. You inspire me to get out and shoot.
I’ve got a couple of these as well. Excellent.
The Adjustable side handleeeee tho🤯
Let’s get it YC SALUTEEEE
My first time to watch your video, I find it informative specially for a beginner like me. Keep posting more informative videos bro...
Solid vibes and I enjoy watching these stories 🤘
fire gym bro!!! always dropping quality
Just picked up my Amaran 300c so having a V mount would come in clutch fr 😭 thank you for the consistent quality content @mascframes
Let’s goooo!! Dude I’m about to make the switch from the R6 to the R5C due to having a ton of video work. And we all know the battery that canon used won’t even last 30 min 🤣. Cheers to the winner🫶🏼
Love you videos! ⭐
All lineup of SmallRig betteries is very beautiful, compact and of course very useful 👌
I’m new to the video space!! Your videos definitely give me direction ‼️ thank you
Grab the Smallrig Hawklock for your monitor, even faster pull down no tools
I can use a vmount battery with one of my small LED lights. Wow.👏 I do wonder how do you distribute the Power with the v Mount battery and lights?
Appreciate you doing videos for us artists. I am new to videography, so I am looking for all the help I can get.
I love your videos man seen your channel grow keep going!!
Thanks!

Love your hustle bro ✊
Nice as always!
Great video man! I learn so much from your experience bro!! Keep it up!!
😂😂😂😂😂 you wild for them specific lights from Wally world
all about the journey @TazersWorld
Well the light did its work though😏😏
any news why the smallrig Nato Rail Side Handle is discontinued by Smallrig?
nice! ive been waiting for someone to make that rotating handle for the right side of the camera! i have the one on the left side but the hdmi gets in the way.

Great information.
Did you switch the c70 for the R5C? 👀 awesome video btw always here for your content ❤
Great video Bro… I need to budget for this one. 🎞️
How long does the v mount battery last you when paired with the lights? Mainly want them for my amaran 200x and aputure 300d. Thanks again for the content YC! 🤝🏾🤝🏾
Ive used those "cheap" lights early in my career lol Love your content!
This may solve battery issues when filming our golf matches! Looks super legit
@parwars_golf for the contest
That's so awesome man! I'm fairly new to video and looking to upgrade my setup.
not the headlights lmao been there bro
Do you have a trailer for your film course? And what is covered?
If I already have a SmallRig cage, with that Side Handle work with it? Does it come with a NATO rail?
💪🏾The goat
Totally unrelated, but small rig also makes a Micro Hdmi to Full Hdmi adapter that I LOVE. Attaches to your cage and you don't have to worry about that flimsy HDMI - @WasionKey
@jumalian - i rock the same plate and a very similar side handle, though mine is just for the left side.
V Mount was a game changer for me as well - 1amfatness
Quick question, can i run my atomos shinobi off the vb50 using a the battery eliminator without frying my monitor?
Nice video, but just curious.. why side handle on the ‘built in side handle(grip’? Is it the rotation?
Ive been looking to invest in to some v mount batteries! this looks sweet; this would be nice to have!
I appreciate you for making this and all your content bruh. Unfortunately the SmallRig batteries are unusable for anyone who owns a V-Raptor or Komodo X. so how do you handled to stabilize handheld shoots? I see that canon R5C doesn't have IBIS neither de canon 50 mm f/1.2
What’s a good monitor to start with
Yessir ❤
My guy with the silver clamp lights! 😂😂😂😂
I would love to try the 99pro I got the 50 a while back it just isn’t enough!
I would want to see that mount a little shorter in the back
Bui loving your vids man all the way out here in the Bahamas. This shit is really inspiring.
Mine keeps draining overnight even when nothing is plugged in. Is that normal?
Thanks for sharing
@Txt_On_Roboka-YCrhodes this looks like a scam. Does anyone else know this person
@Kidhollywood I have one of these and they are amazing. My Komodo X setup could def use another one thou!
@counthopkinsjr ALWAYS dropping that Knowledge! Thanks again.
