Memorial stadium!
Husker shout out!
I'm surprised you mentioned the Cubs because of the hat you wear.
George did this routine when he was the very first host of SNL in 1975
Hey bro don't forget Harry Mack guerrilla bars 32 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is one of my favorite pieces! I was lucky enough to grow up watching George Carlin. Such an amazing person!
You should listen to "welcome to the Infantry" by "Fitsy Mess"
I didn't realize he's talking about american football until he said "helmet"
Before watching, just saying thank you for being yourself!
George did this as the first Saturday Night Live monolog 1975. It was different. Thanks for your reactions....Cheers, from L.A.
Cliff, I wish you luck in your struggles with youtube. Why don't they like Carlin? Because he opens wounds. Based on his own opinion, sure, but if you really listen, he leaves his subjects of criticism (and jokes) vulnerable, stripped of the disguised facade meant to conceal the truth.
BTW- I think we're neighbors
All he did was talk about things that people SHOULD have been talking about, with an edgy twist that made him un-popular to many republicans, church-goers and the insanely Politically Correct. He could spit truth all day long and it was ACCURATE, but none of THOSE people want to hear THE TRUTH. And of course, to cover up the real reason they didn't like him, they would use his cursing as an excuse to try to vilify him as 'evil'. Bunch of jack-asses.
Yeah, it wasn't till this bit that I fully realized that American football is basically a war game...Funny thing that...the creator of American Football, Walter Camp, has a great grandson who is a political comedian (who follows Carlin's example) named Lee Camp... and yes, he is named after Robert E. Lee...weird, huh? You should definitely check him out, he has a few free specials on youtube, "Not Allowed on American TV" and "We are Nothing" (He also does multiple podcasts, most notably, "Government Secrets" about the history of government coverups and CIA/FBI operations)
There's a lot of depression and anxieties to make people unhappy within our lives. We need more people to reach out and help each other. Thanks for wanting to help.
He has another bit called Sports that you need to check out, it’s hysterical
Yes, please! :)
I completely get it guys understand he is talking to thousands of people give him time he will get back to u 😅 have patience
Spot on 👍
I've always called it sudden death overtime. Probably because I watched this when it came out an I was 8 year's old in 1990. I remember watching a lot of TV I probably shouldn't have, after my grandparents (they had HBO) went to bed.
You gotta check out his bit about natural disasters. It's still one of my favorite bits ever. Not just favorite George Carlin bits. One of my favorite stand up bits period.
I JUST saw I was unbsubbed from this channel. I don't know how long ago. Subbed again now, but damn this is not good.
Here for you always ❤️
I wish he was still alive . He knew how it was I love him . He would be saying I told ya so tour
Agreed 100%. He SO called it, DECADES before some of this shit happened... HE KNEW. I miss him, too.
When I see old pictures of of baseball parks the only people wearing caps is the players
Cliff you never ignore the people, you never disappoint.. Hope all is well homie..
He is so spot on with this! ❤ Great as always Cliff! 😁 Georges daughter takes care of those things. She is a writer (articles & books) and a play-write! No surprise there! lol.
Carlin has a very funny bit on stuff. Explaining how we determine the importance of our stuff & anxiety it entails.
🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
You nailed it there, at the end. George Carlin's comedy makes you think. His is, some of, the most intelligent and well thought out stand up ever. It doesn't pander or dumb down the message. Often, his simplest jokes are the ones that are the most thought provoking.
GC was a genius-comedian-philosopher-poet-wordsmith-linguist! I have played both baseball and football, as well as hockey and rugby. Frankly, I enjoyed the physical sports more as I found rough contact exhilarating as a younger man, until I turned about 50 and started getting injuries. Now I am an older guy (68) and I remember those sports fondly, even though I could no longer be an effective player. However, baseball has not become an alternative. In baseball, players stand around, stand around for at least minutes at a time, then go like hell for a minute, and then stand around again and repeat. That's a prescription for a stretched ligament or torn muscle or any other kind of injury. So now, I don't play any sport at all.
Request #69: Cradle of Filth - Deflowering the Maidenhead, Displeasuring the Goddess 😉
I love how you were so happy one moment and then annoyed the next 🤣
Thank you so muchfor reacting to this. I had seen this many, many years ago and kinda forgot about it. Carlin is one of the best comedians ever. It was nice to see it again. Great react. YES! He is a philosopher. Keepitup
I grew up playing baseball and it is by far my favorite sport. It is the only sport I can sit down, watch, and be constantly into what is going on. With that being said, George absolutely killed this! It cracks me up every time!
Woah Wow nicely said
Keep you're work grind going! You are waking people up, you have that in common with Tom Macdonald.

Someone complain they felt they were being ignored? Seriously?
For a complete change of pace, you should check out Abbot and Costello, “Who’s On First “
Anybody who thinks they need to correct George's language POST-HUMOUSLY is really trying much too hard and needs to get outside more often.
George got these terms from multiple occasions of sports-casters using these terms. I DARE YOU to go correct THEIR language, you doofus!
This was his go-to broadcast tv routine. This is a really good example of the routine. Curious why he broke it back out here.
In baseball, in order for the defensive team to stop an offensive player from scoring, they tag him with ball. "Tag! You're out." In football in order to stop an offensive player from scoring, he must be brought to knees.
This is part of his early material which was much more observational and less angry in it's tone and I absolutely love both. Carlin has been a personal hero of mine ever since like high school. Never afraid to speak on any topic, always brings a fresh perspective. This motherfucker had such a profound grasp on the English language, on human nature and society in general. I remember John Stewart doing a tribute speech and he was talking about how every so often when a lot of crazy things are going on in the world his name will randomly start trending on Twitter or social media in general because we as a society miss his voice, and his perspective on things. How many times have you heard someone say "damn I wish he was still around, he'd be ripping into this thing or that thing.
The Bears have been gone, from downtown, for over a decade, they finally got the property they need l, close enough to the end of their
Lease to make it possible without too much of a problem. I’ve lived in a south suburb, and have visited countless times till about 15 years ago. My mom is from Wilmette, and her father lived there till the late 80s.
Soldier field is very isolated with horrible access, little parking, and there nothing around it, sports related. The Packers have a huge fan experience there. Both the Vikings and Lions are in the heart of their cities with restaurants and other stuff right there.
Carlin is awesome. That bit with baseball and football is one of his
Best. Another one is “People I can do without” from “what am
I doing in New jersey
I don't follow sports but got to wonder the deeper meaning of what he's saying about the difference between the two. I've followed George Carlin for decades and I think he's making an observation about the violence in football vs baseball. I find it odd that we've got more violence in football than baseball that was invented over a hundred years ago. The modern world has more and acceptance of different races and beliefs. Why are sports like football more violent? You'd think with all the violence and division over a hundred years ago the sports should reflect the time. It really doesn't make sense when I think about it. Think about the time when baseball was invented in America we were still at war with ourself after the civil war. Women didn't have rights. Still had segregation and stealing the Indians land and putting them on reservations. People are more accepting of different races compared to a hundred years ago. Baseball actually has very nice terms and no violence compared to football. Got to wonder if being violent is in our nature and our society with all the freedom still needs violence instead of towards others it's in modern sports? Got to wonder.
This is why Carlin was a genius; yes, he entertained you but he made you think and question at the same time.
You missed out on a great performer. That makes me sad for you, but at least you can still find it all. Carlin was in a league of his own, he'll always be my favorite comedian.
Cliff if you haven’t done it just do the Carlin documentary trailer.
George did this bit during an older special (or album), too. It was better than this one.
Looking forward on you to catch up on Upchurch. Love all your content.
Thanks for the video Cliff. George is the reason I stopped eating eggs. Back in the 90's, he did a show and talked about chickens and eggs. I won't go into what he said but from that day on, I won't eat another one 🤣
I grew up with this comedy legend along with Robin Williams and a few other legends that are no longer with us. If you like his take on baseball and football look up George Carlin Jammin' in New York and his take on the Persian Gulf War
This might be the longest this man ever went without uttering a single swear word
That's why every great football coach has read and keeps available 'Sun Tzu: The Art of War'! Great content Cliff!
I swear if you dropped a hip-hop beat behind his routines...
The war analogy to footbal was great.
football is also a 19th century sport.
I'm a big baseball fan, but this is still hilarious. Carlin is my favorite of all time
This isn't anti -baseball.
Baseball is a kids game that wussy adults just weren`t able to let go.
That was excellent!
whos on first
YEAH! :D
This is the second version of this he did one in the 79's-80's
You can tell when he is being silly then not!
Typical bidder soxs fan. This will always be a Cubs City and suburbs collar county’s Love the Cubs 😊
Typical stuck up cubs fan with their nose in the air thinking they are better than everyone else. And you checked a second box for a common theme as a cubs fan, can’t spell. *Bitter 😊
SOLDIER FIELD BABY
Church his new song
Its comedy!
yes, please - more george.
Awesome video.
Nailed it
Go Cubs
#Algoboost
Awesome
😎👍
george was a true wordsmith absolutely brilliant.... also interesting point is that baseball was created pre WWI and football was created post WWII different mindsets leading to different terminologies
Football was not created post WWII. Not by a long shot. It is younger than baseball, but it existed pre-WWI. It was first only played in Ivy League Universities.
Damm George is on point!!
Dang I came in at 12 seconds. But 3 days early that is a record haha 😂
I probably missed it on Patreon. I need to check it more
Awesome it is up on RUclips!
THAT is what I have always thought about George TOO, is that he MAKES YOU THINK during and after every routine. He IS a genius and I WISH HE was STILL HERE!!!
George is the GOAT
Carlin is the best wordsmith. RIP...We miss you.
One of my favorite sort of mind blowing aspects of baseball, in every other sport you score with the ball and without the ball you can not score. In baseball you score without the ball and only the ball can prevent you from scoring.
Most people are not interested in American sports outside of America
George is always right it seems..& being a fan just means customer.. paying rich people just for owning a sports team where indoctrinated to like cause of sex & location on witch we don't have a choice on so I ask ..what the fuck are we doing man?!
lol
Baseball, the sport where players can smoke, chew gum and enhancement drugs make no sense.
