Haha idc either way. I mean I can see exactly who it is 🙃 I agree about Acura luxury, they have a great practical take on Luxury. Many can afford the prestige of this car and even tho it doesn’t do 0-60 in 1.3 seconds, it’s a different kind of rewarding drive that I like

@@a_toast_to_our_ghost07That’s what I did mate. Mine is falling to bits and wanted the same feel. Wheelbase is almost identical to the 1st generation and 300 pounds lighter. I was sold. Cheers
Thanks and yea this ILX isn’t bad but I really like the TLX quite a lot actually. Acura’s older cars like the TL and first gen TSX still driver superior to the newer ones however, the new TLX has a unique feel that really no other new car has captured. That was a very rewarding driving experience to me. Thanks again for stopping by my friend, hope you had an excellent holidays!
I see where you are coming from to a degree. However Acura has to establish themselves somewhere in the marketplace. Could Acura build and charge 60 to 70 grand for a top line TLX? And have 60 to 70 luxury feel to it sure they can. But if you could buy a BMW for the same price, alot of people would choose the BMW. When Acura came out they wanted the American market share from Lincoln and Cadillac. Lexus was targeting Mercedes. Acura is the performance division of Honda. Because Acura is a Luxury line of Honda, they get compared to every other luxury manufacturer. I appreciate Acura for what they are. I guarantee you alot of people couldn't afford a brand new Acura in the first place. But I do see where are coming from.
Just test drove the new TLX and ILX for the 2nd time. The TLX love the v6 but the Auto tran holds the car back and the simple double deck infotainment needs redesign, plus I feel the car is to heavy. I do love the AWD system for what it is. I would take the ILX though, Nimble (though I hope next gen gets SH-AWD and a type S) the K24 that comes in it is ready to mod due to the K series being around since 2001, Good chasis, Luxury appeal vs the civic even though the civic is best in its class to me, 25 k for base, and Dual Cluth is great and snappy down and up shifts. I would take a ILX over a accord even though the accord is beautiful the ILX reminds me of a Audi A3 and something about that I love. The A-spec is nice but I would save my money and do it my self seeing its really just a appearance package but it does make the ILX even more sexier.
Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving your detailed thoughts my friend, I always love to hear from others so the rest of the viewers have other opinions to take into account. I agree the TLX V6 with the 9 speed is no where near as good as this 8 speed dual clutch but that motor was amazing. Let me know if you’ve tried the 4 cylinder TLX with rear wheel steering
I would just lease a new Accord or a New Integra at 9% off MSRP for 300-400 dollars a month. I would never buy these over inflated used cars at 10-15% interest.
Just bought a 21 ilx premium did you end up getting the accord? The premium feels way nicer than the base in this video tbh nothing groundbreaking but 17k got me dual screen carplay lane keep assist blind spot detection 8 speed dct. And it’s reliable
I'm currently leasing a 2019 Ilx Premium. Pretty happy with it given what I am paying. The premium package is a must for the full leather upholstery and the tech upgrades. Before leasing I test drove an ILX that was a base car and that upholstery honestly does make a difference in terms of the comfort and luxury feel of the car, and the base car also lacks Apple CarPlay which is kind of a must. While not quite a BMW, it's nimble enough and the 2.4 does a fine job moving it along. One big annoyance for me is the size of the fuel tank. There is also a lag in the throttle response which seems to occur randomly. I have had a couple of strange episodes where the car wouldn't accelerate the way I would normally expect it to, and I had to floor it. Not sure what to make of this?? Maybe some kind of gremlin in the throttle system. All that said, a fine car for the money.
I had this car as a loaner from the dealer, and coming from the TLX directly, I wasn’t too impressed. The ride was just stiff & choppy and it wasn’t as quiet as my TLX - too much road & wind noise. I'm surprised how spacious the ILX was on the inside & and the powertrain wasn’t bad despite the engine can be quieter. I just wish the 8-speed DCT downshift more smoothly as it seems a delay at times for response. I currently drive the 2020 TLX w/ 4-cylinder & 8-speed DCT and the engine combination in that car felt more refined. I almost purchase an ILX, but very glad that I purchased the TLX instead. It’s a shame that Acura isn’t putting the 8-speed DCT on the new Integra, but I can understand why they put CVT on the Integra to save cost in fuel.
Exhaust Sports Auto I have a 2016 Civic and I am thinking about the ILX to replace that pos! the AC broke last year and i fixed it. Honda sent me a recall notice and to send in the bill. They called me back saying the part i replaced is not part of the recall(condensor vs conpressor). And now the AC broke again!🤦♂️ plus the car has 100,000 miles now. i don’t feel like spending more money and risk having it break again next year. 🤷♂️
This needs a redesign bad. It is like a more mature 9th generation Civic SI. At the very least, it needs to be updated to the 10th generation Civic platform, considering it is already 4 years old now. Merry Christmas Kevin, and thank you for everything you do. Looking forward to a Team ESA 2020.

Great review as always Kevin. I like the refreshed look but as other mentioned, I think it should sit on the 10th Gen Civic. Overall as you said, it has some old school feel to it.
Thank you again sir, and yea the old school charm is probably one of the things I like but how many people in the ILX's target market is going to care about that lol. Is what it is but hope you and your family had a very merry Christmas!
I don’t think you can make a mistake spending money on a Acura vehicle. If you take good care of one, you’ll most likely have a decade of any major trouble driving. What more could one ask for? Happy Holidays!

@@MeynMotorGroup , they just need to move onto the next generation; they're beating a dead horse right now by continuing to sell the current gen ILX as "new".

Great review. Here are a couple of constructive tips. I would stop comparing the ILX to the TLX or the Accord. They’re in totally different vehicle classes after all. Obviously, it would be; and if the audience had the means to do so, they would purchase that vehicle instead. From your review, the way it was delivered, it sounded as if the ILX and the TLX would have costed the same. For enthusiasts, it would be quite obvious that they’re not. For the not so vehicle-informed person, not so much. Secondly, such as in my case, people may be looking at these types of vehicles for their dimensions. While it may be trivial for some, a standard (or smaller) size garage can only fit so many items within it. For myself and my partner, we have two motorcycles and two vehicles. All of which, we would like to keep secure inside our garage. It would be quite nice to own a truck actually; but as that route will have to ensure I buy a bigger home, I will just settle and buy a smaller sedan instead. I hope you will find these tips useful and wish you good luck on your journey.
