ZXmany: they are falling because of gravity 3:11 Me: **goes to jump of a sofa while wondering why ZXMany is saying the most OBVIOUS thing ever*!!* (No hate)
7:33 I think this happens because even though the limit is 512 nodons, when they all destroy the sphere’s shards are also separate models. Because the game doesn’t allow more than 512 models it has to teleport some spheres to avoid model limit issues even though there is no teleport nodon
What about launchers? You could surpass the 512 object limit, curious what would happen if you stacked those on top of each other along with the other objects 🤔
i think the reason the sphere warped was because there was so many calculations and scripts going on behind the scene that once it finally fixed it it played the teleport with no exit animation instead of the object break animation
Thanks for the suggestion! I don't currently have online for my Switch so I can't, but maybe one day if I get online I can do that! I've seen some really creative levels :D
LARGE SPHERES Come on Z, we all know what you really wanted to put, for someone always having 69 in his SM3DW+BF vids! Jokes aside, glad you're testing the limits with Garage, I can tell these be crazy fun and helpful!
Oh, that's a really great idea! I'll have to test that, you'd have to put immovable boxes surrounding the overlapping objects, I wonder what would happen!
A limit of 512 is strange. The same limit was used in the VR-Set of Nintendo Labo. The only reason I can think of why there would be a limit is, that each Nodon has its own id which is only between 1 and 512. But a Range from 1 from to 512 would take 9 Bits to store, which is strange since usually Bits are grouped in Bytes and 8 bits are 1 Byte. Maybe the other 7 Bits from the second byte are used for something else, but that woldn't be very practicable. If the limit has nothing to do with Bits, why would it be 2^9? In the 2d Nintendo Labo Programming there is a limit of 256 (1 Byte; 2^8) instead of 512.
If it has something to do with bits, maybe the other seven bits are used mark the type of Nodon? That's the minimum required so that all of them have a unique type identifier. If not, and it's 2^9 for another reason, almost all limits in the game seem to be some power of two. The only exceptions I can think of are the Comment Nodon's call limit of 24 and it's text-entry character limit of 100. (Unlike the Text-Object Nodon's limits which are powers of two.) Even the pair of Teleport-Object Nodon specifically include exactly 8 letters, A-H, so that the call limit of Teleport-Object-Exit Nodon is exactly 8. (Unlike the pair of Wormhole Nodon which use all 26 letters and don't have special limits.)
@@TheRedSmarty I wouldn't use a byte for two numbers like this but add another byte. But why are there limits at all? You could do so much more without the limits. I wanted to build a random J&R with the Nintendo Labo VR-Set but didn't even came to build the first of ten rooms because of this limit. Maybe just a warning would be enough, that many Nodons could lag the game and a very high limit like 2^32. It would be possible to have the user enter numbers instead of having to choose a letter from A to H for the Teleport.
@@Papierkorb2292 Wouldn't do it like that either, they probably just have almost all their limits be powers of two for no actual technical reason. The point of the limits is most likely just to artificially limit people, and limiting people does inspire creativity. But it also means Nintendo can still make real games without being outshined by what people make in Game Builder Garage. Yes, it'd be possible to use numbers but I'm not Nintendo, I didn't make it use 8 letters. I was just listing interesting instances in which limits are powers of two.
Maybe they made the Teleport IDs letters so that it wasn't mistaken for a stored value (as other Nodon do) on the program screen's Canvas. The same reason would apply to the Wormhole IDs as well, even more so as the value sent through actually matters and isn't just true/false.
I think it would be cool if you could e.g. put the puzzle nodon in a game and see what happens. You could also try to change the nodon limit (if theres even an editor for this game like there is one for 3dw)
