+lorderik237 I love you thought of this line cause that's literally one of my favorite parts of the anime. He looked like he was in so much pain trying to maintain the spirit energy when I was a kid wasn't sure if he was gonna make it out of that cave
1. when yusuke finally realised his hidden power during his fight with toguro 2. after genkai's death and yusuke vowing to get back at toguro 3. after seeing how pu was trying her best to keep yusuke alive and him realising he was a wimp compared to what pu was doing for him, yusuke gathered up all his strength and finally overcomes and controls the spirit wave form within him 4. during the last part of the fight between yusuke and yomi
When Yuskue finds the strength to overcome the final Saint Beast's attack and converts his life energy into spirit energy. "Why do even care!?!?...Because they care. Because they need me. THIS IS FOR MY FRIENDS YOU JERK!!"
So many epic moment during this song. My favorite is the time when Yusuke saves Puu and when Hiei Kuwabara and Kurama fights with Sensui and realize that they are not strong enough to avenge Yusuke's death.
protagonist means they are otu to accomplish a goal in in writing antagonists are the ones trying to stop the protagonist not necessarily good or bad so yusuke is actually the antagonist while toguro is the protagonist.
Joey Ament your definition is grossly flawed. A protagonist is the central or main character in a novel play or drama. Now the protagonist can be good or evil ( Alcuard from Hellsing can be thought of as an evil protagonist) Since Toguro is not the central or main character, he can not be the protagonist
what i like about this show is the major villains like sensui ,younger toguro and even sakyo were not that evil and had issues of their own, not being evil just for the sake of it.
Sakyo was a piece of shit to be honest. He was the one running the feast of human vices. But he at least died with SOME humanity. Though in the end was he really better then say someone like Elder Toguro? Everyone hates Elder Toguro and sticks up for Sakyo. However Elder Toguro did care for his younger brother in his own way. That's why he blamed Yusuke when his own brother betrayed him and was unable to blame his brother. Sakyo of course had fellings for Chizuru. Sakyo and Elder Toguro are the same. Sakyo used to torture people and animals for fun just like Elder Toguro. The only difference is Elder Toguro at least was bad ass and had some fighting strength. I'm not trying to start an argument or debate with anyone. I am simply saying people white wash Sakyo's evil but hate Elder Toguro for the same stuff.
@nicholas davis Yeah one of my favorite villains is Doflamingo from One Piece and he is pure evil, but for a reason. I like both the evil and morally gray villains like Meruem
Yusuke: "Don't you think I wanted to use my powers, win this thing and go home... of course... I just didn't know how to reach it... and I have to live with that..." Toguro: "Maybe not for long Yusuke..."
Most dubs in anime are meh at best. But YYH for the most part is the exception to that rule. The dub work was very well done you could feel the emotion and feelings of the characters very well. That line sums it up the best you could tell Yusukes heart was broken by his inability to tap into his power before.
Yu yu hakusho really stands out because a lot of the themes are applicable to real life: Friendship, perseverance, caring about people who care about you, and never judging an entire race (i.e. not all demons are bad, not all humans are bad) which kind of relates to racism that exists in the real world. Overall its a great anime and I recommend even non-anime fans to watch it.
Billabongs122988 true, but also try Naruto Shippuden. Some of the music in that show makes you really feel how much of a life/death struggle those fights are lol
I listened all of them and i think Code Geass has the best soundtrack (Stories, Continued stories, innocent days, bird -> are the best of CG i think ) but yeah, i love this too :)
This song can make you cheer and hope the good guy wins and have you crying at the same time I love how effective it is in the fight with Toguro it fits well when Yusuke finally opens up to his inner strength
this song touches me the most when yusuke tells toguro the next things: i... somewhere inside... i respected you you know that? lets just say i haven't had many older guys to look up to. and what you seem to have gone? it didn't look so bad, genkai told me over and over again how stupid i was but i saw your strength and how no one could boss you around no matter what and i wanted that. that's where yusuke truly shows his respect he had for toguro and i found it very touching the way he opened up in front of his opponent
Come on guys, chapter black was the best arc. It felt realistic, because the villain actually had a realistic plan and had actual merit into what he wanted to do/accomplish. Sensui is the best antagonist in the series, in my opinion.
I'll agree with you, but had the last arc had better pacing, it would've been the best arc. I mean, you have a godly character like Mukuro and you see Hiei's past.
FrankThe Bunny Even with better pacing, and hiei's past revealed, the last arc reverted back to the formula the Tournament arc had, except Yomi was less of a dick than Toguro. Not to say the last arc wasn't awesome in itself, because there's was more done right than bad. Its just that I expected more.
Flora Tully I wasn't too fond of the dark tournament, it went on for too long, and Toguro and the other antagonists weren't very interesting to me. "Its just that I expected more." I don't feel that way, and I still think the last arc would've been my favorite had it not been rushed.
A lil late to the party aren't you? 😹 But as a Japanese speaker myself, Yao Ensatsu Kokuryuha is something that middle school students say while playing make believe... So it feels very childish to the native Japanese speaker.
It's a struggle..It's a struggle to do the right thing, to be the good guy, to do good thngs, to not give in, our life's are constant struggles of saddness. But..We know that we won't give in we will continue down this road of goodness...NOTHING CAN STOP US!
This truly was the best anime that came out. They picked the perfect music to use during fights such as this adding alot of emotion. Kuwabara was a great comic relief who at the same time wasn't completely worthless in fights or the series. Wish there was a version without the steps though.
i'm 19 and im not ashamed to say ive shed a couple tears throughout the series when this came on.. i finished the whole series in about a month now it feels like ive lost a few friends the show really pulls you in.
Yu Yu Hakusho, I'm so glad I found this anime, it quickly became one of my favorite. How original is that to have the hero die in the first episode and not even wanting to come back to life at first. It's the type of anime I watch when I want to draw, I saw the serie something like 25times and sometimes twice in a row and I don't seem to get tired of it even if I know it from a to z. One classic anime that's for sure!!!
I'm rewatching the series again, and man I love the english dub... I too also thought this would be one of those animes that sounded better in english, but I'll give it a try in Japanese, since this series is so good. Man if only they made a sequel!!!
Yusuke: dont you think i wanted to use my power to win this thing and go home problem was i didnt know how to reach it and i have to live with that for rest of my life. Togoro: Not for long you dont
I love Yu Yu Hakusho. I remember when I watched it on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. It's too bad they don't have it anymore, but, Funimation is putting 4 seasons on 4 DVD box sets. I got the 1st season. Can't wait to get the rest. Thank you for uploading this song. LUV THIS SONG!
This is the only version online that has that ending part loop twice as it did when Keiko kissed Yusuke at the beginning of the series, I love that second loop! All the other ones just do it once.
Whenever this theme played in the backround it just made things so much more epic. One of the best times this theme was used was when Hiei first revealed his Dragon of the Darkness Flame!
This song of Yu Yu Hakusho is so inspiring, it gets you into tears in your eyes & realize that deep down your soul you are stronger & plus, I love Yu Yu Hakusho, I'm glad that this anime was created & I watch this back in the old toonami days, childhood memories right there.
This makes me picture that scene at the end of Pokémon: Indigo League episode 1 when Ash throws himself in front of all those Spearow in order to protect Pikachu
At the very least, it's undeniable that Yu Yu Hakusho started a season, got to the point, covered the arc in depth, and concluded, immediately starting the next season. No fillers. I enjoyed (opinion) the fact that fight scenes didn't take as long (factual comparison). When characters were brought back or kept from dieing, there were reasons. I see a certain someone is merely throwing his weight around as if his opinions were facts. Opinions based on facts are still opinions. Get it straight.
The one anime that i remember watching and never didn’t finish it as an kid. Man the memories of watching this show and just falling in love with the characters.
Yusuke: No tengo perdón... no tuve el poder... para salvar a una persona No tendré piedad.... no podré perdonarme... el error que he cometido Toguro: Con eso es suficiente

What about when he fights sensui and he tells koenma that it's not his time to die
When Yuskue finds the strength to overcome the final Saint Beast's attack and converts his life energy into spirit energy.
"Why do even care!?!?...Because they care. Because they need me. THIS IS FOR MY FRIENDS YOU JERK!!"
forloned For the record, Puu is a boy. It's stated so in the manga, which makes sense given it's Yusuke's inner spirit.
+forloned the end of the Kurama/Karasu fight where he kills Karasu
So many epic moment during this song.
My favorite is the time when Yusuke saves Puu and when Hiei Kuwabara and Kurama fights with Sensui and realize that they are not strong enough to avenge Yusuke's death.
+1
Krisztian Bari In what episode is this moment ?
Mihai : Dorelu lu Floare
The one right after Yusuke's death, So I think it's 93 but I could be wrong.
Krisztian Bari or when Hiei is standing in zerus flames or when kurama kills karasu
I really liked that moment as well when the 3 were fighting hopelessly against Sensui.
Favorite protagonist: Yusuke Favorite antagonist:Toguro
