the novel which the drama is based on is boy love, but since china has a ban on lgbt relationships in media, the drama is censored so their relationship isn't really set, more like bromance but the director and actors still managed to convey the feel and relationship from the novel without love confessions or kisses or other things.
but what makes this story amazing is how natural the main characters are with each other, and the story takes precedent over them as a couple. so even if the drama is censored it's still has the original feel to it. the main characters feel more real and connected together than ever actual couples in other dramas, and they're censored.

The Untamed is the best drama of the year... I watched it for 3rd time now. I almost be able to memorise the lines of the scenes that I like especially when Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo act together. Xiao Zhan acting ability is beyond the best. It is a must- seen drama!

in my opinion it's one of the best fan video out there. it's a 10 minutes fan video showing some highlight scenes and dialogues between the two male leads lan wangji and wei wuxian. it does contain the details of their storyline from beginning till the end tho, so if you're not okay with watching some spoilers, you can finish watching the (50 eps) drama first 😉
anyway, i really enjoyed watching this video. your confused and amazed reaction is amusing for me. i love how you got the general storyline just by watching the first video. and i love all of your (some times thoughtful and other times funny) commentaries. i'll looking forward for your next videos 😁

But yes Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji are basically lovers (even if censorship will tell you otherwise). But even then this drama still proves just how in love they really are. 😂
For anyone who’s interested, here’s a summary!:
Wei Wuxian was a gifted prodigy and beloved adopted brother to Jiang Yanli and Jiang Cheng, but a series of tragedies led him down the path of demonic cultivation. Eventually he is viewed by history as the villain, and he’s summoned back after 13 years (16 years in the drama) by someone who wants revenge. He and his old rival Lan Wangji try to solve a mystery together, all the while old and new feelings arise.
Yes, I've seen the drama, the anime, have read the manhua, and read the novel. With each one, the intimate relationship between Wuxian and Wangji are changed to certain degrees. The novel is obviously the original, so the romance between the two is stronger. However, there are small details that show a deep relationship with them in the movie. Although I wish they could have put them as "lovers", we all know that there would be some problems with it. Anyway, I'm still glad this series is gaining so much worldwide attention!
The drama didn't even need to spell out their relationship. The actors conveyed it through their eyes and actions. I was watching it on Netflix and my mom just popped for one scene and was like: They're gay for each other aren't they? They're fucking with their eyes.

So this show is based on a bl novel but due to censorship it had been adapted into a bromance. But whether or not you are into bromance or not, still highly recommend you watch. The acting is amazing, the chemistry amazing, and the action scans in general are amazing. Also the music is amazing too. They made character songs and most are sung by the actors themselves and they match so well.

After you watch the drama I recommend you guys to watch behind the scenes they have an adorable chemistry off screen as well. I watched everything about them from bickering to fighting to even flirting and staring at each other their so cute.
