I remember when Ian Callaghan came to Melbourne in the early 80s I think, he was signing autographs in a sports store, barely anyone there, me and my brother and dad talked to him for quite a while, fantastic.
My mum is from St Helens, went over there a couple of times in the late seventies, went to Anfield in 79 had a tour ,got lots of autographs, couldn't believe, how lucky I was, got to watch a couple of matches from the Kop, before seats. The whole trip was amazing.
That seventh goal against Spurs, still to me the best I've seen,I remember Terry Mac starting that run from near our goal line and watching it from the Kop,he doesn't get the recognition he deserves. But there was one man who's name was always sung first every time they came out-Dalglish-cooler than the Fonz.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH DAVE FOR THIS OLD CLIPS AND DOCUMENTARIES, YOU DESERVE A LOT MORE PRAISE FOR YOUR WORK.I LOVE TO SEE MORE VIDEOS FROM THE SHANKLY AND PAISLEY ERA ....❤❤ BTW THIS WAS IN 2002 . 23 YEARS HAVE PASSED , HOW ABOUT AN UPDATED VERSION OF THIS LIKE INCLUDING THE KLOPP ERA, MIRACLE OF ISTANBUL etc.... love your content a lot ❤❤❤❤ YNWA DAVE
Thanks for your kind comment. I didn't make this video - I only uploaded a video produced by Granada. A video with more up to date footage is more likely to be blocked for copyright reasons.
Bill shankly left too early, it killed him, he loved football and liverpool so so much! I believe if he didnt retire then he wouldn't of passed? RIP shanks, you made us into the club we are, we are an institution!!! Ynwa by the way, what about paisley his record is amazing ❤❤❤❤❤ ynwa
This man DAVE!! does one hell of a job fair play!! Top lad!! I BLOODY WELL LOVE MY LIVERPOOL f.c. Just celebrated my 43 birthday with 2 jumpers from the Liverpool shop... Bloody well good 👍 and had to have 1989 replica red kit!! Y.N.W.A FROM SHAUN OF WALES

Awesome Dave - champing at the bit to end work today (building Ambulances for the NHS) and get home to watch this. Thanks a billion and take care wash your hands :.) #YNWA
I witnessed Liverpool beat Arsenal in consecutive years 62,63 in the FA cup at Highbury, had to wait until 71 to beat them in the FA cup final, and 89 at Anfield to clinch the League championship, great days
nowadays one of Englands largest cites has a team whom play in red shirts & white shorts in the 2nd tier & always seem to miss out beyond mid table obscurity but with a Shankley ,Bristol City will be the 21st Century Liverpool ! 👍
Liverpool fans not singing the national anthem goes back to the 60s (if not earlier). It used to be drowned out by You'll Never Walk Alone, so maybe the booing is relatively new but the sentiment isn't. As with any crowd situation, individuals will have their own reasons, but they include things like the injustice and establishment cover-ups in relation to Hillsborough; the Tory government's plan for a "managed decline" of the city of Liverpool in the 80s; the general political situation currently, which is a long way from the left wing politics of the majority of people in the city; decades of taunts from other fans about poverty and unemployment
I dont blame them!! When you got newspaper's and t.v. News telling Lies about you when you're grieving from a tragedy!! And then you got GOVERNMENT PUTTING YOUR CITY AND CLUB DOWN!!! F THE SUN AND F OFF TO THE GOVERNMENT!! YNWA the reds bloody love LIVERPOOL from Shaun of Wales uk
Wow, what a documentary. Loads of footage ive never seen before. Ive been following the reds since 1968. Fantastic, well done David lad.

Sadly, Liverpool fans have detached themselves from the rest of the country.
Booing the National Anthem??? What's all that about!!?
