I completely agree! Though currently, the redundant repetitive phrasing is what is required . Once you point out an item you need to give the examiner at least two defects which would take the item out of commission. And if the part is capable of leaking, you must say it’s not leaking, otherwise, you won’t get credit for calling out those items.
Hi… I’m about to take my test for my CDL permit in Rochester NY to be a school bus driver. I really like your videos…I find them all encouraging and very helpful! Thank you and I appreciate your videos.😊🚌
Hey, just passed my classB CDL yesterday after watching your video a dozen times. It was very helpful. One comment, in NC because the motor is in the rear the tester started in the back and came up the passenger side. Had to adjust but passed. Thank you for doing this video.
I know I was commenting in the chat but overall another good video Therese and to Catherine for being your cameraperson. Your videos are always helpful and the premiere of this video was excellent. Hope you do another premiere with your next video. And Happy holidays to you Therese and to Catherine.

oil check should check dipstick for metal filings which could indicate damage to the engine, spacer on duals should mention there are no foreign objects or debris, handles inside step well should mention no barbs or sharp edges
Hey Mrs. Mileti. 👋 I just finished watching the replay of your Premiere video from three hours ago on your RUclips Channel. You're definitely very good at explaining everything and how they work on your School Bus. Keep up the good work.
During the early morning on the High School route, it will be very dark so do you carry a flashlight for your pre trip when there is very little light to have a proper pre trip?
If for some reason during the test there is a problem that would deem the bus unsafe, would I stop the pre-trip there and ask my trainer for further instructions on what they would like me to do?
I would do my best to make sure the bus was roadworthy before taking the vehicle to be tested. If, however, a mechanical defect would occur while driving to the testing facility or during the pretrip itself, I would depend on the defect. If it is a clearance light not in operation, the test should continue. If, on the other hand, a headlight were to go out, it’s very likely they would not continue the test. It would just depend on what the defect was.
Thank you for this very helpful video - and the others in this series. One question, for the air brake test, aren't you supposed to demonstrate that pressure will build from 85-100 PSI in under 45 seconds? I don't think I saw that part. Is that step maybe not part of the actual test?
I hate to say this, but is a chassis cross member is 'missing' you have a lot more of a problem than doing a walk around check. If I took half an hour to to a walk around check I'd be out the door before the end of the week.
As I’m watching this you’re missing quite a few things but then again I don’t know if this is the minimum required to know to pass 😅 I’m in Arizona and it had to be fully detailed pre trip inspection
Hey how you doing I love your bus, I'm also getting a transit. I have a quick question. I've seen u do a pretrip on every bus except the blue bird vision. When every you have time, could u please do a pre trip on a blue bird vision. If u have one already please comment the link below 🙏 (❤❤ your videos)
@@SchoolBusSass Much smaller than the ones you have. The bigger mirrors create bigger blindspots, you have to remember our roads are very narrow and you can easily hit pedestrians as you pass them on the pavement so the mirrors are ticked in close. This is the only country i know where they are making the roads narrower. The newer buses don't have mirrors, they have cameras but that diesnt encourage the drivers to scan from side to side. The high convex mirrors dont have to be too large, once the trainees get used to the vanishing point and the eyes learn to refocus quickly, the nearfield/farfield zooming and side to side scanning can accomodate the smaller mirrors.
Ah…gotcha. Interestingly enough, when I first started driving, I was Ms Therese, or Ms. M. When I moved to Centerville, I was going to continue with Mrs. M, but the group already had a Mrs. M, so I was going to go back to ms. Therese, but, one of first driver trainees, bought me that magnetic name plate, as a thank you gift when he passed his CDL exam. I’ve been Mrs Mileti, ever since. I even tried going back to ms. Therese after we returned from Covid, and my students said… You’ll always be Mrs. Mileti to us. Needless to say, my attempt at a name change was short lived.
Hi Jeremy, thanks for your question and interest in becoming a school bus driver! It largely depends on where you live in the USA. Currently, in the state of Ohio, you can obtain your, commercial drivers license (CDL), once you turn 18. However, the age requirement for your CDL varies by state. Many states set their age requirement at 21 with some as high as 25.
Hi Abdul, certainly not every weekend, but, yes, I create new training videos for the district…and beyond, when I’m not taking y’all to and from school…or teaching new driving students. Thanks for watching 😀
