  • Learn how to catch and hold a fourth finger flesh break, also known as a pinky break or simply break. This is a fundamental technique of card magic to mark a position in a deck of playing cards in order to shift or cut the deck just to that position and thereby controlling a card or a stock to the bottom or the top of the deck.
    You better put time and effort into learning how to catch a break using a so called in-jog. It´s one of the oldest written heritages in card magic. Jean Hugard and Frederick Braue pay a lot of heat to it in the Royal Road to Card Magic. Als Erdnase brings attention to controlling cards using the in-jog in The Expert at the Card Table. And what is good for these legends, sure is good to me!
    If you get this right from scratch you will turn from someone, who is „just“ doing card tricks, into a real card magician, a true wizard so to say, in no time! You are going to be like Gandalf doing fireworks for the Hobbits! ;-)

And there are going to be three tutorials showing you how to make use of a nice and clean fourth finger flesh break, feat. 1) The Double Undercut, 2) a simple Triple Table Cut as well as 3) a cut I like to call: Fu** The Double Undercut Cut.
    This might come in handy for beginners! Learn about the BASIC GRIPS IN CARD MAGIC. It´s very important to be aware about how to properly hold a deck of playing cards in card magic. • HOW TO HOLD A DECK OF ... This series is one of my absolute favorites. And i mean in all of RUclips magicians channels. This stuff is the start of creating the wonder. And not just leaning tricks but becoming a magician.

      ***** Sogar auch Berlin - sehr cool :') Klar, lass uns mal was zusammen machen.
      Ansonsten juckt es mir in den Fingern, Deinen Kanal mal in 'nem Video von mir vorzustellen. Was sagst Du dazu? Wäre Dir das recht? Ich denke nämlich, 'ne Menge Leute werden von Deinem Kanal begeistert sein.

      ***** Ob mir das recht wäre? Willst Du mich auf den Arm nehmen? Das wäre der totale Oberhammer! Ich muss das jetzt erstmal verarbeiten. :-) Und ja für alles Weitere; guter Dinge braucht Weile oder so ... Ich meld mich dann mal auf facebook. Beste Grüße und 1000 Dank Dir.

    I often find it easier to catch the break using the 'thumb' side of the cards rather than my pinky. I push the piles into the thumb side of my left hand and my skin gets wedged between the cards. I realise that would not be the appropriate set-up for all situations, but do you think this is problematic otherwise? It seem to work fine, but I have never seen instructions for this kind of technique.

    • @Othmarius
      @Othmarius  6 лет назад +1

      I would advice a smooth execution of the break with the pinky since it offers most control over the cards and also mastering to catch and hold in-jogs is very important. This stuff is also preparing you for other, more advanced techniques like the pass for example or card control vial false shuffling.

But right now I am pretty busy with creating videos, trying new things, shows, episodes and so on. Since I subbed your channel, you vids show up in my feed and as soon as I made up my mind on how to do shout-outs, you´ll know about it! ;-)
