It sounds great! It must be said any guitar in your hands would sound great. But you did prove it has the potential. And the stuff it came with does what it needs to.

But this is supposed to be about the Squier right? It sounds great over my cell 'phone, not disappointing in any way even though I'm concious of the lack of real highs and lows implicit in the compression. I'm guessing the set up is fine? What we are witnessing is a new baseline. Lucky old noobs don't know they're born!

The cell phone video is not optimal, but I didn't want to edit and twist the video and audio into something that it wasn't. What you hear is straight out of my studio rig with no additional processing. The setup on the guitar was great out of the box but I need to do a little work on it. I am going to make a short video this week of me playing through a Marshall JCM-900 SLX - should be a little more "unprocessed". Thanks for your continued support.
Thanks John for an honest and entertaining demo (as opposed to paid promotional reviews). A decent guitar out of the box or a platform for customizing. How about a a black oak arkansas tribute band ... you know what I mean (SMASH). We better grab one before we find out they're being built by underage labor. Seriously, I suspect they've perfected their automation processes.
Thank you...this was not a paid review! I originally thought about buying one of these guitars to modify and use to test pickups. However, once I played it, I realized that is has a lot of potential as a player. This is a pretty well-made guitar - I'm sure it was CNC'd into shape. More to follow, and I do like Black Oak.
