I grew up in South West Montana (Butte) my Dad, Grandfathers and uncles were all miners -lots of mining history and ghost towns like that one -mining still goes on in Butte ⛏🧨🥰
Thank you so much for taking us on the road with you.😊My husband loves visiting these places. We’re about two months until we take to the road. Feels like an eternity still. Can hardly wait.😊
@@terrymiller8080 Our plans were originally in a couple of years also, but circumstances changed so much this year. Now’s the time to sell and leave California. I hope the time passes by fast for you.😊
I had mentioned it looking like Little House on the Prairie before Shiela did. My husband kinda gave me a look but he too didn't watch it growing up. I got to say 'see Shiela thinks so too.' We love you videos and works live to be brave enough to bite tge bullet. Keep up the great videos and making memories for you two.
you got me when you mentioned the oregon trail. i have said for years, i was born 100 years too late. just think, there were a bunch of men using drills, dyn-o-mite, how about some other mines where 2 guys used picks and shovels. some of those mines go way back into the hills, and down 40-50-feet or more. hard lifeis an under statement.
Great video. We love old places like that. Ahh and remembering old TV shows..Bar keep bring me a sarsaparilla. Putting that on our list. Thanks for taking us with you
Always looking forward to your next episode. Your channel has been a great inspiration to my wife and I. We are looking to sell the house and travel and get out there for the RV lifestyle. We are at the beginning stages of selling off all the stuff we have been acquiring for all these years and take a complete new direction and your videos have given us a real insight on what it takes to be a full timer. Planning on setting up a mobile office in the toy hauler so we can continue to work in our 50s on the road. Thanks for giving all of us a glimpse into the lifestyle. 😎👍
I watched all mentioned, though I favored sci-fi and mystery shows. Even watched some fantasy shows. Maybe that is why I find Todd's history amusing. LoL. But I also like historic attractions and shows.
I’m 69 years old. When I was very young, my grandmother told me stories about traveling in a covered wagon. At the time I thought oh no, she’s gonna tell me those stories again! Now, I wish I could remember them. We’re from Oklahoma & she moved from southern OK to northern OK. I’d like to know how long it took them. Many years later, I found out that my 5th great grandfather was a famous Cherokee chief. (On my grandfather’s side.) My aunt always swore that their grandmother was Cherokee, or at least half but they just didn’t talk about that stuff. I grew up in Hominy, OK in Osage county with the Osage. My grand parents property was separated from the “Indian Village” by a ditch. We would go to the pow wows on the weekend, then come home & sleep in their “ summer house” (a screened in room above the cellar). I would go to sleep hearing the drums still beating! My fondest memory! She made me a cotton sack, my size, so I could pick cotton with her. (Of course I played more than I picked). She also made a bonnet for me to wear when I helped her in the garden. She was a pretty stern woman but I know she loved me!
We’ve always been a traveling family Before we started our YT channel and one year we looped the country with our kids and slept in a ghost town in the Dakotas in a tent... hahaha... didn’t tell them until the morning 😂🤣
Loved the tour. Best old bar we've been to is in The Western Hotel in Ouray, Colorado. Oh my the history. And Juanita is painted on the floor. What? You don't know about the Face on the Barroom floor?
My Parents would ground me from watching star Trek if I got bad grades from school. I think now they grounded me from watching it so they could get the tv to watch what they wanted. lol.
Todd you know when you know you are old? When you get up in the morning with a shoulder injury and all you did was sleep. 😂😂😂 Move the rock and take some aleve. Great video!
Fascinating town but Todd, why did you not include that the town was founded by the decendents of Phil and Charlies ex wife Greta? Phil and Greta had three sons and two daughters who then married and had children of their own. One of these second generation children stumbled upon Charlies’ rock figures and realizing it was their great uncle who placed them on the rock and then were inspired to go forth and do great things in their uncle’s memory. They stopped one day on the site of this town and saw some sparkling rocks that turned out to be the quartz which held the gold. Once others heard of the gold the town grew rapidly and they became very wealthy. Unfortunately they completely forgot about Charlie.
Interesting place. So glad it is preserved for everyone to see.
Yes! Wish more places would do that instead of tear down to make room for new!

Beautiful state and great video
Thanks for watching!
metal detector in surrounding areas can be handy
You guys are great at taking us on your adventures. But I was hoping for some history according to Todd.
I'm sure there will be another opportunity soon lol
My Parents would ground me from watching star Trek if I got bad grades from school. I think now they grounded me from watching it so they could get the tv to watch what they wanted. lol.
Lol well there could be some truth to that!
My side your side? I drive truck and we use curbside (passenger side) and road side (driver side) 👍🏻
Did you notice the spitune on the floor at the end of the bar?
Lol - yep actually was in a place out here in Wyoming and it's still a thing - um gross!!
Talking about ghost towns, take a look the keg to the left at time signature 6:56 to 6:59. Isn't that an image of a face??
“You gonna channel your inner Thor?” 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for watching!
Todd you know when you know you are old? When you get up in the morning with a shoulder injury and all you did was sleep. 😂😂😂 Move the rock and take some aleve. Great video!

Comment (For RUclips!) 😁
Thank you Terri!
I thought everyone watched Little House on the Prairie after school.
Lol Me Too! Thanks for coming along on our journey!
Todd’s teaching us that Pyrite is more valuable than actual gold lol.
Like the video just wondering what BLM location did you stay at because in August I will be headed that way. Keep the rubber side down and enjoy life.
Found it in Campendium - called Louis lake Road I believe.
1st to comment yesssss
Gold spot price in 1930 was $20.65 a troy ounce. 1913 was $18.92. Couldn't quite make out what year you were talking about.
Dear lord in heaven!!! How low do you think your axles are? Lol You can clear all of that with no problem.
Appreciate your support!
What a pair😂🤣😅
Do you feel lucky, well I guess I do now
Fascinating town but Todd, why did you not include that the town was founded by the decendents of Phil and Charlies ex wife Greta? Oh my Ed - not sure you should be allowed to meet Todd in person lol ~Sheila
Ed gets me.. 😆.. ~Todd
For me it was I Love Lucy 😂🤣
Now Todd watched that but I did not. lol He references it often & I have no idea what he is talking about. Thanks for watching!
Joe bob built the house for Barney. Just saying
Comment (For RUclips)
Hey Matt!
"Mine!"
"No, mine!"
🇨🇦🍻👍
👍🏼😎
Definitely did not watch little house. It was Batman and Brady Bunch.
Brady Bunch - that was a good one too!
in 2021 $9 would have been $.55 in 1930
I'd like to give the "thumbs down" people a wedgie. Just sayin'.
