I remember those events..I was in high school and college when those news stories came out. He's a racist. I worked at one of his casinos in Atlantic City, Trump Plaza. There was a promotion with a vault full of gold that had thick plexiglass over it. He made this stupid speech they made us listen to and during the speech he made it clear that the glass was unbreakable because we would steal it. He didn’t mince words on how he felt about poor people and or minorities. He used Eminent domain to take the homes of a lot of people to make a grand entrance to the plaza. The only one who could fight was an older white lady and she fought him for years.
The only home that Donnie tried to take by eminent domain was Vera Coking's house. It was to be used as a limousine parking lot. Ultimately, the courts sided with Coking, so Trump Plaza did not successfully take any land by eminent domain. The rest of the properties were purchased through normal means.

I remember those events..I was in high school and college when those news stories came out. He's a racist. He forgets why Native Americans have the reserved rights they have as Indigenous peoples of this land, and cries about why he doesn't get those special privileges, trying to weaponize it as a civil rights issue in his favor, when he is so absolutely wrong (and despite the fact that he absolutely did not pay his taxes as he should). I don't understand how people could forget what he was, and is. When he was running in earnest, I pretty much freaked out, because I, and many others, knew he would be beyond horrible.
Unfortunately, Donald Trump is not the only one who thinks that native Ameicans are getting special treatment for nothing, and they ignore what these people have lost, which is much much more than what they have been able to take advantage of. I worked at one of his casinos in Atlantic City, Trump Plaza. There was a promotion with a vault full of gold that had thick plexiglass over it. He made this stupid speech they made us listen to and during the speech he made it clear that the glass was unbreakable because we would steal it. He didn’t mince words on how he felt about poor people and or minorities. He used Eminent domain to take the homes of a lot of people to make a grand entrance to the plaza. The only one who could fight was an older white lady and she fought him for years.
The only home that Donnie tried to take by eminent domain was Vera Coking's house. It was to be used as a limousine parking lot. Ultimately, the courts sided with Coking, so Trump Plaza did not successfully take any land by eminent domain. The rest of the properties were purchased through normal means.
