OffTarget Mike wrote majority of the songs in LP and he was the leader deciding which direction the band should go each album. He was the core of the band. Still is and will be eventually when they decide to get a new vocal leader.

@OffTarget Just as you said. Chester's pain and passion along with Mike's lyricism and writing. Plus Hahn's DJ mixing and mastering and the guitars of Brad and Dave, and the drums of Rob. All in that one package to make that beauty of a song we can all appreciate.

I have been listening to Linkin Park for years and nowadays to Mike Shidoda. This has what has gotten me thru the many traumas etc that are experienced in life. I have just turned 70 in 2021. I may be perceived as "old" but this is, and always will be, my go to music. Great to have something to relate to. Thank you so much.

@@carinabaptista9726 it's saying when someone you deeply care about dies, it's not just a single "goodbye". the pain of them being taken from your life keeps reverberating and every time you get reminded of them it stabs you in the heart. hence "sometimes you don't say goodbye once / you say goodbye over and over and over again". you can't stop thinking about what was and how much you miss them, the pain stays with you.

Thank YOU for saying this! We all miss Chat & his talent, but this is Mike's time to shine... He is one of the most talented- well, see inws gonna start naming off the myriad different individual musical talents Mike has- but, I'm pretty sure for anyone who already KNOWS THIS- that's not only a nearly endless list, but just redundant to any of us who GET IT... I became an epic level Mike Shinoda faic 20yrs ago when I started 7th grade at 13; and I'll be damned if I won't be for another 20+ years... Cuz I don't doubt he will still be breaking boundaries & ahead of his time when he's 60.
I'm fact- .just gonna take the initiative NOW to start a petition to have his head & brain saved in a glass bowl like on Futurama... Er, better yet- for all of the utterly AMAZING people out there who can picture Pierce Brosnan and Sarah Jessica Parker after the aliens on MARS ATTACKS! get abducted by the aliens & SJP's head is surgically stuck onto the Chihuahua's body & Pierce's is just... On its own still?! (Dear gawd, please tell me SOMEONE can picture precisely wtf I'm talking about & gets this so I sound a smidge less nutso? ...I'm just gonna tell myself that at leasy MIKE would get it?!)

Awfully underrated, tragically overlooked; but there’s so much relief knowing that’s not everyone’s state... I’ve never commented anything on RUclips before, but this matters enough. Thank you for this compilation. I have the whole album, but a single upload makes it easier to let other people listen to it, and they really should. Since my angsty early teenage years, Linkin Park has helped me through some progressively maturing struggles, and when that potentially bleak nature of psychological turmoil took another something beautiful forever away from the world, it could have all been over. Instead, Mike Shinoda presses through the aftermath with a whole new level of inspirational genius. I’ll always mourn the way things went and deeply sympathize with those most affected, but words can’t express how grateful I am that we have something like this to turn to in the wake of such grief. The best there is to do now is follow by example, stay strong, and make the most of the time we have left.

I have no words to describe how much I fell in love with ''The Rising Tied'' as a child and this album is the closest album to this masterpiece I have ever heard. It's pure artistic expression, an album created by an artist to cope with and process the death of a close friend. Just recently, I have read a comment by someone that Mike Shinoda is one of those artists who does not create music to impress others but to express himself. I think this was beautifully worded and I wholeheartedly agree with this statement.

This album hurts. I heard LP for the first time around 12 years ago and actually hated them for a while. I thought they were fake, hated their sound. My son listened to them all the time and I kept hearing their songs even when I didn't want to. I started listening to them several months later but this time I really dug into the music and the lyrics and discovered just how talented they all were. Every member of the band brought their own unique talents and abilities to every song. Chester made me feel what he was going through, with every song. I started liking them, and listening to each new song. Fast forward 10 years and I really didn't know how to feel when I heard the news. I thought it was tragic, and sad that I wouldn't be able to follow the rest of their music career. A lot of mixed emotions I guess. I had to say all this to say I'm glad I took the time to understand them and their music. It sucks that the group isn't together now, and I never got to see them in concert, but Mike was a very strong figure in LP and I'll follow his career. So, even though this album hurts to listen to, thank you Mike, and I hope you find the peace that you seek.

This is the first time after the albums release that I listen to it again. And it's a weird feeling.
This album doesn't only remind me of Mike and Linkin Park, but it reminds me of myself a few years ago. In 2017 I finished school, just started a new job, found new friends there and when this album came out I used to listen to this a lot with one of my friends I had back then. We even travelled to a concert to see Mike live. Later on I broke off this relationship and the other friendships because I wasn't happy anymore for personal reasons. In 2018 I started studying, I had a lot of ups and downs and I don't talk to my old friends anymore, but this album actually reminds me of the good times back then. And I'm so glad that the album is connected to good feelings and nice memories. I wouldn't have it any other way.

For some artists, they use music as a healing process and that is exactly what Mike did here. Beautiful album. The raw emotion is phenomenal. Like the band COLD says, music is like a way to bleed on stage. Fuck phsychiatrists, fuck anti depressents. Pouring your heart out to millions of your fans through completely original music that you wrote and getting the love and support from your fans to help you get through your struggles can be way more theraputic than anything else you can do. It's kind of a type of therapy itself.

Thank you for your music, your kindness, your clothes too. I made this shirt like Chester's red plaid puzzle shirt. I have the red plaid shirt you have with the white art on the back. I cut that out in a square and put it on some plaid that looked like Chester's shirt, plus pieced of 2 other red plaid shirts. The left front part is yours with your sig on the pocket. Cool shirt to honor you both. But now, the road is yours, the path is your choice, and don't worry we all will follow and listen and sing along with your music.

I couldn't listen to this until now, reading all of the other comments gave me chills, I like all of you, am still grieving the loss of the most unbelievable voice and person Chester, but you know something, Mike enhanced Chester and vice versa, for Mike to come out and do this album was one of the most courage's things I have seen, I cried when I watched Mike from, my home perform "Looking for an answer" at the Hollywood bowel, his true emotion came oozing out in that song, it was then I turned a big part of my grief to Mike and the brother he lost. This album is an extension of looking for an answer, its heartbreaking and yet helping me grieve, I hope it saves Mike, he is truly a great artist and I look forward to more. Also releasing this after Chester's death is such a move, of all the ways he could've deal with the grief making an album is an extraordinary thing, the strength that it takes to go to a blank sheet of paper and put your feelings out after such thing just happened, it's just amazing. I began listening to a lot of music by Linkin Park early this year. I discovered Mike's work and listened to this album when it came out. This is probably my favorite album released this year.

Damn after all this time that I listen to this album, I finally manage to write a comment ^^
To me this album is a really helpful to every person that like me it's really hard to believe that Chester is gone... ( including Mike fore sure since he's the one who made this magic album) We can see it even by reading the name of the album. And that's why I'll be forever thankfull to him for this incredible album! #makechesterproud and I would also say #youmakeusproud like we told him when he came to Paris 🙏❤️

Their first 2 albums helped me get through the hard times. My favorite 2 albums of all time. I understand why they changed their sound, but the new sound wasn't what most people needed. Music is their to express your self, but it is also their to help the masses get on with life. I hope Linkin Park can continue on, even if i wont listen to their new albums, because its not what i need. Hybrid theory, and Meteora allowed me to channel my anger and focus.

When linkin park took a break to do side projects, mike was the only one to be highly successful with Fort Minor. And a lot of people didn’t even realize that one of the frontmen for LP was a part of FM. It just shows how far his own original art went without using his ‘LP’ clout.
This man was more than just a rapper/singer, he was the foundation to Linkin Park and did more than most people even realize. I mean, aside from all the things he did for the band, he still found time to organize charity projects every year throughout the bands history
