Great man Great!!!!! Thanks so much! I have been dying to see footage of this show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Long live Peter Dennis Blanford Townshend!!!! Jai Baba!
It always used to bother me watching this video when I'd see the dude playing synthesizer with his arms crossed over each other like they are at 0:48. Like, why can't he play keyboards with his arms straight? Other than that, this was my introduction to The Who when I was 10 years old watching them on MTV, and based on this song alone, I thought they were the most dynamic band I had ever seen. Boy, did I have a lot to learn!
Even without keith they still sound great....this was a great concert by the way. mccartney/queen/specials/pretenders/clash-great stuff coming out of england then.
Kenney Jones really was a fantastic drummer, as demonstrated by this clip, but his feel around the kit was just not as good as Keith's. But then, no drummers feel and fluidity could match Keith. He was just born with innate digital superiority. A virtuoso or genius if you like. The televised Charlton Show for the BBC in 1974, with the who at their peak , just showed how really fluid Keith was around a drum kit. It's been argued that Keith Moon couldn't keep time, I argue that Keith could easily keep time. For Keith to keep time would simply a waste of his skills. Perhaps his drumming brain ran so fast , he found it difficult sitting still.
+Paulo Cezar Absolute trash? He was still better than many other drummers at the end of his life. It was definitely the weakest drumming of his career, but his performances at Kilburn and Shepperton are fine performances
Townshend later realized that he was the one keeping time with his rhythm guitar playing. Moon was a lead drum player. More reason for their unique sound.
After seeing the who w/keith twice.. they were what legends are made of.. we seen the first tour with Kenny.. we walked out midway.. he's fantastic in Faces.. but a little awkward in Who.. Zak fits better..
Sorry Keith Lovers, but Kenney kicks ass here. The Who is tighter than they had been in years here. I love Keith, but watch any Who concert after 1975, he's a disaster. There is a difference between loose and sloppy and Keith was just sloppy at the end. It is well documented he could barely play half the material on Who Are You. Kenney was a good choice to bring stability while still giving the material the right energy.
Sister disco without question the best song KJ filled in on. The later stuff can be judged independently. Think the albums he did, in retrospect, are very good. Wasn’t his job to be better or be KM. Was his job to be the drummer for the who. PT and JE wanted him. Enough said. Zak has been tremendous since.
100 percent agree. Loved Moon but Kenny brought a whole life to Who music that made you appreciate even more Pete's writing skills. One of the best drummers in Rock

Probably one of the best live versions of any song by any group GREAT JOB KENNY !!!!!!
5:58 "'Get on with it' is something we know all about" - grim
I can't get enough of that middle section starting at 1:37... and that extended shot of Entwistle was perfect for that part
He looks like he's playing his bass VERY TENDERLY here!
This was back in the days when concert film directors didn't feel compelled to cut to a different shot every 2 seconds. I miss those days.
I love Kenny Jones.
5:00 Beautiful harmony singing.
USA network used to play this concert during weekend nights on its "night flight" show in the mid to late 1980's
In the directors cut, Townsend says he didn't think of Tommy when he included the lyric "deaf, dumb, and blind" here.

Cool. A raw video from The Who for the Kampuchea concert.

Pete has stated that this is his least favorite to play.
I always noticed that he didn't look too thrilled here! He looks drunk, like he decided to take a few swigs so he could get through it!
Because Roger always intrudes at the end and Pete need to play along :DDD
See kenny Jones is a good drummer!
He seems very stiff, Keith Moon was loose as fukc.
+Nelson Dugluss keith made sister disco idiot
In the first 30 seconds you can really hear how much it's missing Keith in this video... The insanity has gone
I like his drive! Hey, he was good enough for the Small Faces!

@zed0469 Thanks!
Is this from the Concert for the People of Kampuchea?
