About me:
My name is Anthony Chisnall. I'm a musician & songwriter.
My channel is these things:
1. A place to share my music - both songs and instrumental pieces. Much of the music I write features in...
2. Tutorial videos about music composition and production
3. An outlet for me to discuss all things musical - including technical break-downs of software and tools that I use, as well as more wide-ranging discussions of topics that interest me.
I play the guitar (electric, acoustic, and bass), and record all of my own synth-based sounds myself too, but I can't sing very well (huge understatement!), and so my wife, Pauline, who has a lovely singing voice, has come to my rescue. You'll hear her on all of my songs.
All of my music is written in Steinberg's Cubase (currently Cubase 12).
I try very hard to make my videos PRACTICAL and no-nonsense - if I don't use a feature, I'm not going to waste your time trying to sound like an expert on it! This is the stuff I use day-to-day, so I think that's also what you'd like to hear me talking about.
Thanks to:
ThumbnailTemplates.com for their RUclips template files.

The world of plugins and Cubase would be so much poorer and less interesting without you, Antony. Thank you so much for your great work.
That's very kind of you, thanks very much :)
how do you fix the master track and bus on the right side of the mixer?
In the left-hand panel, click the 'Visibility' tab at the top, then that will reveal a 'Zones' tab at the bottom. Click that, then you have little dots that specify whether your tracks are left-pinned, central, or right-pinned
Thanks Anthony. I only have one template. What's the difference betwen your own empty template and the default Cubase new empty project?
Mostly window sizings, positioning, MixConsole Configuration etc. It's not just the empty tracks that come along with a template, it's everything.
I think Steinberg should implement templates like styles in MS Office: one template should inherit from other ones and just change what's needed, creating a hierarchy of templates.
Oh man that would be so good.
I tried to find a video of yours that explains the Master Bus you mention in this video. I watched your other videos and saw it appear in one of the other ones but with no explanation as to how and why. Do have such a video?
I cover it in this video: ruclips.net/video/JcMbITp6QoY/видео.html&ab_channel=OneManAndHisSongs. I do intend to make a dedicated "Basic Guide" to bussing in the near future though. In fact this new series is all about collecting together information that's spread all over the place on my channel into a more clearly organised, structured form.
Can you explain we how and what you use to make your videos please
Do you mean in terms of hardware/software/cameras etc? I did make a series a few years ago which is still mostly relevant (ruclips.net/p/PL3P42Av427hzEJF788JRBviawHU3aTbeZ), but haven't made anything about that specific subject since.
@@OneManAndHisSongs Hello,
Thank you for your answer, I watch your videos about "My System Setup for RUclips" and I admit that it is too complicated for me, I would just like a minimum, I would just like to make tutorials for my friends and that's all, and it will be a great pleasure for me if you could help me as much as possible.
I have a Steinberg sound card, Cubase Pro 13, an M-Audio midi keyboard, a Microphone, a guitar, a bass and headphones.
your help will be very useful to me.
Thank you
How can i get this template?
It's available as a download for Patrons & Channel Members
When you updated to Cubase 13, did your templates transfer with no problems?
Yes - in fact the upgrade to C13 was absolutely trouble-free. Everything that needed to be transferred all happened seamlessly.
The last cubase I used was on an Atari 520st. I'm getting back into it and just bought cubase 13pro, kontakt and a few vsts with remaining money. My wife is pissy as hell but OMG. Things have changed so much. So much to learn. Good vid. Many thanks
Thank you! Keep up the great work! We ARE watching!
Good God, that's quite the gap. (I had a 520 ST too. I loved that thing.)
Your thumbnail.says " BASIC".... BUT nothing your doing is Basic dang it!! I was hoping to see how to use the templates given and what it all means and how it all works!
