RFB Fanjet 600 [D-EIWZ] Takeoff @ Hamburg Airport

It was great watching the low flight over the runway before the pilot pulled the plane straight up.
Only 50 were then built to train jet pilots. The plane does look like a jet, but the aircraft is driven by a propeller.
Unfortunately I was not very close to the aircraft.
But it's so rare that I would like to show it to you.

I grew up near the RFB plant and was used to see the FanTrainer and the civilian version FanLiner (one version was designed by industrial design genius Luigi Colani). Both were powered by a conventional reciprocating piston aero-engines. The later FanJet version (shown in the video) was outfitted with a gas-turbine driving the ducted fan. Due to the high speed of the fan blades inside the duct, it was a pretty noisy affair. All versions had that distinct high-pitch hissing sound and they could be heard long after take-off. Great video - thanks for posting it! Brought back some memories ..... ;-)
