We are here in El Centro, on a 3 week det.... my first one as a mechanic. The Blue Angels are here as well, training up for the season. It's a pain working around them, but we get a free air show almost everyday, so I'm not complaining too much. Minus the fact of being away from my family, it isn't that bad here.
Spent a winter down in Seeley. Loved sitting up on Superstition peak watching the Blues train up, as well as the Redtails, as they'd come and go. Call tanks on approach to 26! 😊
Ah, El Sweat-o! I hope your squadron managed a trip to Camacho's Place for some authentic Mexican/Navy cuisine. It was tradition, as I recall, that the junior aviator would turn the XO's plate over onto the table and he (or she, now) would eat from the table. Good times.
Ahh. Memories of massive G&Ts in the Owl Bar. Also entertainment in the notorious Lynn's Desert Bar... too far off the beaten track for the wannabe Toms Cruises to find though.
Hoping you'll see this but did you go to USNA? I'll be heading there this June for Plebe Summer and I was hoping you could give some info on service assignment and the pilot pipeline after becoming an SNA. Any help would be awesome! Thanks :)
I sure did! Best of luck! Service selection comes towards the end of your time at USNA. Your ability to select Pilot will come from a few factors: Your "Aviation Order of Merit" which is mostly your GPA but they do factor in private pilot experience (though not required). You can be any major. Obviously if you desire to be a test pilot, you'll have to be a group 1 (engineering) or group 2 (math/science) majors. Additionally, you must be able to pass a medical and be medically qualified upon commissioning. Once you commission, you'll show up to Pensacola. The people before you will help you with the gouge of how to study and do well in flight school. So study hard at USNA, be a good teammate, find good mentors, and good things will come your way!
@@aerosmith2574 Sweet. A friend of mine from SJSU is in there rn. Hey question for you. I'm aging out for the navy as we speak. My only chance of flying is the marines since I've already passed the ASTB given I get an age waiver. Would you be able to give me a few pros and cons of the guys that are flying for the marines as opposed to naval aviators?
Great video. Does this video belong to you? If so, would you mind if I posted it on my RUclips channel (ruclips.net/channel/UCrK4XYHFamLA7GQt8judrzgvideos)? Obviously, I would acknowledge your channel as the originator of the video.

Guys, exellent job. Used to fly F18 - brings back sweet memories! Keep up your excellent work!
Have you used alot of math?
What squadron? Where did you do your intermediate?
Lots of fighter pilots in the comments. Never heard one refer to the Hornet not as an FA18...
It was so nice to hear the script again. I wish i kept the video of my runs.
From training with jets with analogue gauges, some of these pilots will eventually fly jets equipped with LCD screens only. What a transformation.
Miss El centro
Thank you. Great footage, love that T-45.

Good times!!! Nice round number too; class 140! 👍🏻🍺🇺🇸

@@thorsengoalie20 I appreciate your help! Thank you so much!!!
Looks good sir! Finishing API, heading to Corpus in a few weeks. I would love to get the jet pipeline!
How did it go for you?
I'm submitting my application soon. Nothing worries me as much as API.
@@AssyrianKing4ever API should be the least of your worries. Primary is a much bigger hurdle….
@@aerosmith2574 Gotcha! Are you a naval aviator?
@@AssyrianKing4ever still a SNA. Working on it though!

Im a “home-sim pilot” all I ever do is fly fast and low. What is it about flying low??? I can only imagine how exhilarating it must be in real life.
Wow!😎👍🏾
