  • I underestimated this book going into it. The concept of antifragility is very interesting and although it needs further exploration, it seems an intrinsic quality of systems that we cannot escape. Learning the lessons from this book can be applied in so many areas of life it's crucial to at least be aware of its properties.

Great review Eric! I didn't end up finishing the book, but I did get through quite a bit of it. It's nice to be able to hear your reviews/summaries!

I do recommend skin in the game - I know my response is a little too late, but still - I enjoyed your refresher of the book

I think I listened to 20 minutes of the audiobook. There was something about it that turned me off and then looking at reviews it seems he uses very flawed historical examples that made me determine it wasn't worth forcing myself.

I definitely wouldn't buy into everything he says. It's not a peer reviewed approach because he doesn't seem to respect many of his peers. I think the strength of the book comes from understanding it as a way systems can behave and leveraging it as best as possible. Jonathan Haidt uses the example of peanuts and rise of peanut allergies in his book The Coddling of the American Mind.
