Dispatch reliability is somewhat indirectly related to the extent of the DDG/MEL, don’t know how extensive the Gulfstream MEL is but this might explain some numbers. Since the Gulfstream 700 has not yet been certified, the performance data is preliminary and most likely somewhat conservative. It would not be surprising that they 'magically' find an extra several hundred miles in range, and better takeoff distances, so awarding the victory to the Global 7500 is quite premature (for the record, the Global 7500 range was, before certification, quoted at 7500 miles, so the extra 200 miles range now quoted is the same conservative margin to avoid the surprise of coming short and making several sales contract look *bad*)

Gulfstream hands down everytime over a bombardier product , flew them both ( Not at same company ) Global 5000 vision and the G550 . Global I flew stayed broke most of time . I flew different Gulfstreams through out my 47 year career with the last 26 in Gulfstreams and retiring out of the GV . My time in the Gulfstreams , only had to cancel two trips , surely can’t say that about the Bombardier products I flew. Gulfstream is a far superior product than bombardier

Just out of curiosity which make has the smoothest flight characteristics?

    • @garyderipaska675

@@Puzzoozoo the smooth characteristic is determined a lot of how smooth the pilot is on the controls. I hand flew both aircraft a lot . The G550 was a beautiful airplane to hand fly extremely smooth , I loved the stability of the Gulfstreams, ie , stayed where you put it.
      Hope this helps

Thank you! Out of the G500, G600 or G650 (or ER) which do you like the best? There was a comment above that stated that Gulfstream's have so many issues, so your comment is surprising. But then again, YOU ARE A PILOT! From a pilots pov, is the crew rest a pretty mandatory thing?
Any recommendation of the better management companies?
      Thanks

@@danielfarrar5154 I loved the G550 , I never flew the G650 or the G500 G600 series, now I see they have the G700 and G800 which have the longest range of any corporate jet.
I'm not sure what issues others were talking about, but Gulfstreams have been known for their dispatch reliability, each model is obviously different on that , but the GIV's through the G550's were always above the 98% mark .in fact from what I remember seeing right before I retired the G550 was at a 99.9% Dispatch reliability. if I'm not mistaken it still holds that credit. It's on of the most dependable Gulfstreams on the market. So many redundancy to be able to dispatch under the Minimum Equipment List ( MEL)
If you're doing charter with the aircraft ,then yes " crew rest area " is mandatory. When your utilizing 3 or 4 pilots on those 12 to 14 hours legs , you have to have an approved crew rest area where one pilot can fully rest in the supine position this is required by the FAA , Even if you're doing a trip under 10 hours ( Two Pilots allowed to do Under 10 hours of flying in a 24 hour period) its also nice for the Flight Attendant to have a place to sit down instead of standing for 10 hours or sitting in the cabin with passengers
As far as management companies, I was with 3 different ones , not a big fan of any of them. They're pretty much all the same . I thing they gouge the shit out of their clients ( aircraft owners) from all the crazy insane fees they charge to the way they treat their pilots which can be pretty bad , they all try to push the duty limits and rest periods with pilots. If you have a highly experienced LEAD PILOT on the aircraft a lot of that can be nipped in the ass pretty quick by the Lead pilot saying NO to a number of issues. I was a Lead on a number of Gulfstreams with different management companies . I always said I get paid to say NO to Stupid request its a freebie to say yes cause you're always a winner and the hero when you say YES but the bad guy when you say no , at least in the eyes of the management company. You have to stay on top of them, they will try to take advantage even after they give you the song and dance about safety , their ISBAO rating , their safety program and their blah blah blah and all the other BS they tell you about. The wording changes but it's all the same B.S
I'm not sure if it'd be easier for an individual Owner to set up their own flight department hire some experience Pilots that have been around the block a bunch of times and run it on their own especially if the aircraft is going to be operated under FAR part 91. However if they want to have the aircraft on charter 135 operations then a management company is UNFORTUNATELY a must, unless an owner wants to go through all the BS with the FAA in getting a 12 and more Charter Certificate.
      Take Care
      Hope this helps

My only thoughts are I should have worn a bib before watching this, now I drooled all over myself. These planes (if you want to call them that) are dreams, normal people can only sigh and wish for and hope one day for a miracle. 😍

With all the technical issues going on in G500, G600 and G700 I will choose Global 7500 all day... G650 still has landing gear restrictions unsolved.
