Hi guys, This video is about Marinduque's infamous festival known as Moriones. We are here to withnessed this festival and my first time on this island. One of the highlights of this festival is the Via Crucis. A re-enactment of the suffering of Christ on his way to the calvary. Men inflict suffering upon themselves by whipping their backs, carrying a wooden cross and sometimes even crucifixion. They see this act as their form of atonement for their sins. This place is one of my bucketlist because of this festivities held every holyweek. Some people who participated on this event wearing mask called morion for almost 2 weeks of lent season, you see them everywhere in heart of Marinduque known as Boac.
