Everyone in their lineup got a hit and scored at least one time. That's an absurd figure!! Cubs are capable of this though, their lineup makes a lot of contact. Sneaky good in stretches!

On September 16, 1975, the Pirates clobbered the Cubs 22-0 at Wrigley Field. In that game, Pirates second baseman Rennie Stennett set an MLB record by going 7 for 7. It took the Cubs 47 years, but they finally got their payback.

Just watching this makes me think how much the "unwritten rules" must be hurting. No one says anything about these types of games when we talk "unwritten rules".
This game reminds me of that old Bugs Bunny cartoon where the team that he was facing was destroying the team that he was playing on and that the opposing players were doing a conga line around the bases when it came to doing homeruns.
OK guys ... what we want to do is get ahead early and make it hard for them to come back and win the game in the end. Got it??? Team: you asked for it .....
I remember almost scoring a run in a game my team won 30-3. In one of my only two plate appearances of the high school season, I drew a walk and advanced to second and third on back-to-back singles. I might have scored on a wild pitch/passed ball if I was confident enough to pull it off, but alas, I had the confidence of the last guy on the bench. We were already up 30-3, so my run wouldn't have mattered except as a personal accomplishment. The next year, I gave up baseball to focus on my budding music skills and never looked back.

@@ICLight412 You're contradicting yourself. First, you try to cut the Cubs down by saying their win on Saturday meant nothing, because by some narrow statistical loophole, the Pirates still "win" the series. Then, you say it doesn't matter if the Pirates stink up the field, because nobody in Pittsburgh cares if the Pirates win or lose. Yet, you describe the Pirates as "we" and "us," which would suggest that you do, in fact, have some emotional investment in the team. You have to recognize that the Pirates experienced an epic fail today. The Cubs won, not by mounting a home run derby, but through precise hitting (RBI's), by exposing and capitalizing on the Pirates' inept fielding. Of course, you can't win them all.
