Only one homer, most of the offense came from the old-school "hitting it where they ain't", well done!
Everyone in their lineup got a hit and scored at least one time. That's an absurd figure!! Cubs are capable of this though, their lineup makes a lot of contact. Sneaky good in stretches!
Exactly what I was going to mention. Homer's look nice and all but the way they did it today with all those singles, and doubles was amazing. Hopefully this game will get them going on a good stretch.
@@joec9555 Now That Is What I Called Cubs History.
This is why small ball is so important for the team. All big players want to do is hit home runs selfishly.
that's a quote from an old Pirate HOF'er...Little Poison...
It’s so refreshing to see a team maufacture runs instead of swing misses all the time
If you want to watch more of that, keep watching Pirate games!
@@santozheng5283 no thanks, I watch the post 2016 Cubs do plenty of it
What’s that like? I’m a Yankees fan
@@aleclyster7207 better than what I watched the past five years
The 2014!/15!!!/16 Royals were ALL about that! :)
Fun fact: In 1975, the Pirates shutout the Cubs 22-0. We basically just watched it in reverse here.
You beat me to it. I think Rennie Stennett went 7 for 7 in that game.
The difference is the Pirates scored 22 runs in Wrigley, in front of Cub
fans. I can guarantee you one thing, that cold water Pirate pitchers felt
after leaving the mound felt the same back in 75 for Cub pitchers that day!
"The Cubs scored three touchdowns and shut out the Pirates today in..."
@Catherine Halsey or 3 touchdowns with the extra point kicks.
🤣
@Catherine Halsey Or nine safeties and a field goal.
It’s Not Football,it’s Baseball
I like how this is longer than the Highlight video.
This happens every year to Pittsburgh
@@TOCC50 I want to feel bad for the Pirates but then I remember how the Steelers cheated my Hawks out of a Super Bowl and I laugh at the misery of the yinzers
@@poocrafter2 Schtillers not Goin ta Super Bahwl…
You know it's a good for the Cubs when Jason Heyward actually gets a hit.
The entire Cubs lineup playing as if they’re all chasing the 3000 hit club in this one game.
Congrats to Miggy Cabrera on his recent accomplishment!!
On September 16, 1975, the Pirates clobbered the Cubs 22-0 at Wrigley Field. In that game, Pirates second baseman Rennie Stennett set an MLB record by going 7 for 7. It took the Cubs 47 years, but they finally got their payback.
It’s all coming full circle
You're A True Chicago Cubs Fan Milly Poo, I Like Those Historic Moments.
That game was on channel 9 WGN
By the end, you could hear even Sciambi was feeling awkward about saying what the score was.
Now this is the Cubs baseball I want to see! FlyTheW!
Weirdest thing about this was there was only 1 Homerun.. those "too many homeruns" apologists are awfully quiet
Have not seen the cubs offense explode this much in a long time!
Especially after the all star break when they traded their 3 good players
even the 90s team didn't score like this
Willie Stargell rolled over in his grave.
yes he did.
He was already perpetually rolling
Yeah, and everyone else from that era
This is such Incredible for the Cubs to finally Break the 4Losing Streak and to win the Game with 21-0 unbelievable.
that being said it was the pirates
@@Brixenja who were 3-1 against them this season before this game
@@WaffleYT again, *it was the pirates*
@@Brixenja why didn’t other teams score 21 runs on them???
The Cubs scored more runs in this game than the Reds have since April 12th
THAT WAS UN-BE-LIEVABLE!
The offense getting all the attention, and rightfully so. Ki d of lost in that is Kyle Hendricks went 7, only threw 76 pitches, walked no one and gave up just 2 hits. I hope this gets him going as he's been erratic thus year. Need him to pitch well on the road too.
At least the Cubs are fun to watch as my expectations aren’t high this season.
A life-long Kentuckian, but a Cubbie fan, since 1981. Go Cubs!
The cubs made history tonight🙌 Let’s see how they respond to that on their next games
The ball park is packed. Good fan base, Cubbies!
At least the pirates didn’t have to worry about touching first
I didn't know the Bears were playing today.
The bears can’t get 21 points

The old joke:
Cub fan #1 - “Hey did you see the Cubs scored 21 runs yesterday?”
Cub fan #2 - “Did they win?”
At 1:58 I was like “WHAT IS HAPPENING”
Final:
Bears - 21
Steelers - 0
Actually, Pirates are Stealers LOL
It would sound like a football score by the fifth.
It was so-o-o nice to attend the batting practice that the Cubs held batting practice for themselves. But to attend their home run derby as well. Hoo-my.
yessir let’s go cubs!!
Go cubs is right.
man i wanted he mets to get seiya so badly! im glad hes doing so well
I love that this video of a complete obliteration of the pirates by the cubs also features heyward grounding into a double play.
This is "no mercy" MLB style!!
damn the pirates ain't been the same since the 2015 wild card game
If this happened to the Padres they would have thrown a fit. Good to see the Pirates keep it professional.
This game reminds me of that old Bugs Bunny cartoon where the team that he was facing was destroying the team that he was playing on and that the opposing players were doing a conga line around the bases when it came to doing homeruns.
I thought it was a football game when I clicked
Wow, looks like Cubs were seriously on fire today. I beet they won big time!! Hopefully this doesn't happen to SF when they get shutout that big!
how many hits inside the line THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION!
This was the score of my rec game yesterday we won 21-0
Being a Pirates fan, knowing Cincinnati is 2-13 makes this hurt less
As long as we beat the reds im good with it
May 6 can't come soon enough.
We still won the series 3-1 and own the season series 4-2 so we’re all good
Chicago Cubs Beat The Pittsburgh Pirates 21-0 For The Largest Shutout Win In Chicago Cubs History This 2022
Good news is that it only counts as one loss
Basically my MLB the show. Let’s go cubbies
As ol Harry would say Holy Cow
wish bryant was still a cub
I burned his Jersey yesterday
losing one game 21-0 and winning the other 3 games in the series. I'll make that trade off every time.
The Cubs' mantra is "21 and having fun."
21 runs in honor of Pirates great Roberto Clemente...
I love it when Chicago scores 3 unanswered touchdowns at Wrigley!
The Bears defeated the Steelers wow
Three Touchdowns 👍
OK guys ... what we want to do is get ahead early and make it hard for them to come back and win the game in the end. Got it???
Team: you asked for it .....
johnny whispers punching the air rn
If “hit’em where they ain’t” was a game.
That’s more than the Bears scored in most of their games last year.
Crazy its 21
Since 21 is the number of the great one
I went to this game for the jersey giveaway! The section I was sitting in was howling with laughter by the halfway point. I even joked to the guy next to me should we call the cops? We're watching a murder!
Damn some football teams struggle to throw up 21!! Wow!
Watching this just makes me miss 2016 more and more!
Just watching this makes me think how much the "unwritten rules" must be hurting.
No one says anything about these types of games when we talk "unwritten rules".
There are more errors that are being committed by the Pirates in this game than the English dialogue of the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive port of Zero Wing.
Pirates pitching coach should have been fired when this game ended.
In Pee-wee we got smoked 24-3... had to tell my friends that I was not in the Spring football league
I remember almost scoring a run in a game my team won 30-3. In one of my only two plate appearances of the high school season, I drew a walk and advanced to second and third on back-to-back singles. I might have scored on a wild pitch/passed ball if I was confident enough to pull it off, but alas, I had the confidence of the last guy on the bench. We were already up 30-3, so my run wouldn't have mattered except as a personal accomplishment. The next year, I gave up baseball to focus on my budding music skills and never looked back.
I saw the score first thought the Bears were playing off season 😂
Pirates ERA 👁️👄👁️
Let's Go Cubs
y'all ngl....I think the Cubbies got even more dangerous after the selloff
17 last night vs the Nationals
It was better on Twitter, where it said FINAL: Bears 21, Steelers 0!
1:33 Bad luck on the physics there
Go cubs
Go cubs is right.

Cubs looking are good offense David Ross keep the same lineup tomorrow
Seeing this game and the results The real question is who shows up tomorrow?
Geez..even the patented Jason Heyward grounder to second for a double-play plated a run 🤦♂️
I WAS THERE
Chicago Cubs:
Pittburgh Pirates:
Rangers, White Sox: Ouch! Our unwritten rules…
I just did some research and this is the largest shutout game of the 21st century and the 3rd largest since the modern 1900 MLB started last time there was a game this high was September 16th, 1975
Edit: also to add on to this Pittsburgh shut out the Chicago on that day 22-0
This Is The Greatest Shutout Of All Time By Scoring 21 Runs In Chicago Cubs History.
Today was a insane say
Picture it: Wrigley Field 2022 The day the Pirates knew they got knocked around
When I saw the score I thought it was Bears vs Steelers.
This game is almost as bad of a rout as that one game that was between the Rangers and Orioles back in 2009, if not an even worse rout than that game. (The final score of that game was 30-3, with the Rangers winning that game.)
It's been a long time since the cubbies scored 21 runs I think the last time was against the Phillies winning by 1 22-21 ???
The Pirates flat-out embarrassed straight up that was their most lopsided lost in franchise history and they gave up a lot of big run but nothing like that
Fly the W Go 🐻 Go
So … anyone else think there should be a UrinatingTree “Welcome To Pirates Baseball 2022” video?
As a Whitesox fan, this just makes me mad at Tony La Russa, become last time the Southsiders did anything like This Tony went full get off my lawn mode.
They are all pretty much just base hits, it’s not like their tee of for a HR.
Sorry Pittsburgh, you can’t do anything about well placed hits. 🤷♂️
real life moonshot event, they are gonna get so much program ex after this
The one day I'm not watching
fun to watch, but lets not get crazy Cub Fans. Pitts. had a bad day, we had a REALLY good one. Next.

21 runs without a HR! Amazing!
They hit one HR

Newman is playing on Legend difficulty.
Got the Brewers, White Sox and Dodgers coming up next. Will wee how they do. Hopefully great but who knows
Wind must have been blowing out at Wrigley Field...nope.
So, for the second year in a row, the Cubs punk the Pirates.
... aaaand the Bears have beaten the Steelers 21-0! .. wait, what? .. this was a baseball game?! 😳🤯
Bears beat Steelers by 3 touchdowns.
Which is fitting for this game as the Bears coach was in attendance and sang during the 7th inning stretch.
“Who won? The bears or the Steelers?”
Not just 21, but 21 to zero. Woof.
pirates already in postseason form! good to see
