6:02 Well we can't know that can we? Maybe the changes in lighting specifically or any changes had influences on the workers: but because there isn't enough information on each individual worker we can't really say. The thoughts of each worker surrounding the particular changes influence their performance. So the Hawthorne Effect is a problem only if the researchers lack data?

I think you're right that we could think of this as being a lack of data on what is influencing the workers or how exactly it is influencing them on an individual basis. But the complexity of human subjects means it may not really be possible to ever get some of that data, as even the individual workers themselves may not be aware of all the influences on their behavior, or be able to accurately report them.

It isn't mentioned in all books or courses; as long as the general concept of how biases can influence studies and data collection is covered then which examples are used isn't anything to worry about.

Is there a differeence betwee action research and educational psychology research

Action research refers more generally to any research that is aimed at solving a particular problem or enacting changes, which may be related to social issues, workplace applications, or educational outcomes. Educational psychology research is often action research for classroom and learning applications but it includes other types of research that are not directly action-based as well. Hope this helps!
