I actually liked that they gave Caroline the ultimate consequence for turning off her emotions it wasnt about grief it was about control she had to learn that nothing is more powerful than death even her need to control she will have to reconcile her inability to know what that letter might have said without ever knowing like we all have to reconcile when loved ones die all the things said and unsaid
