It’s not the easiest to explain the whole thing in a comment. An Explanation video for BS&T is an absolute must please!!! This song, lyrics, MV are all very layered and army has got most of it figured out. Knowing it helps to understand bts, their music in terms of the messages, inspiration and vision they have. The whole wings album (trailers, short films, songs) is interconnected so it feels like you are reading a book with many chapters. I recommend watching the explanation video (maybe it doesn’t have to be a reaction but just for your understanding). YES PLEASE DANCE PRACTICE TOO!!! And live performances of comeback stages!!! As you already know BTS works "concepts" in their albums. In the precise case of Blood Swaet and Tears, the concept of the book Demian by Herman Hesse is artistically represented. A brief summary of Demian: It represents the passage of a person from his limited and innocent world of childhood, to adolescence or youth. He has lived a "lie" so far. The whole book deals with the duality of the world, and learning through that duality (The statue represents Abraxas, a god who contains good and evil in himself) I quote you a phrase from segments of the book""The bird breaks the shell The shell is the world. Who wants to be born has to destroy a world""The life of each man is a path to himself, the attempt of a path, the outline of a path"" I think that every young person should read this book that is a classic, also "Steppenwolf" and "Siddharta" by the same author. @@crimsonful I am glad to be of help, sometimes I am afraid to write because I am a Spanish speaker and I use a translator. Reading those books is really motivating. I read them in my youth, when there was no internet, hahahaha. That's why when I first heard this song, (my first time with BTS in 2016), I recognized in RM's phrase the phrase from "Demian", a very motivating book for me, for which I later decided to study psychology and dedicate my life to that. I recommend it to you, since I think all the work of "Wings" is based on this concept. Greetings and much love to you

This song is my favourite BTS song. The painting Jin looks at in the beginning is called "The Fall of the Rebellious Angels". It highlights the ongoing theme of vices, virtue and the surrender to temptation. Basically, it's about good and evil in the video. There are more such symbolisms seen in the video. Statues, busts, paintings. In my opinion, also the Last Supper when everyone is sitting at the table. The whole video is an absolute masterpiece.

This song tells the story of lust and giving in to one's desires. the music video is a direct reference to the german book called 'Demian', which follows concepts like sinful temptations and the corruption of angels. You should watch the explanation video. And V usually sings low in BTS songs but when you react to his solos stuff will you see him hitting very high notes specially in Stigma he blew my mind. And V has the widest range in BTS.

Ah. Blood, Sweat, & Tears. The start of the era of Sexy BTS, which has continued to this day. Haha. So glad you guys did this one. It's a deep one for sure. It's a song all about Temptation, per the theme of the whole Wings Album. It falls after their "Youth" Trilogy, so it's just the next step in life, encountering many temptations. Keep in mind that this song came out in 2016, so well before Black Swan, which wasn't until 2020. So this is the original "Black Wings" reference and if anything Blcak Swan was a throwback to this one. This album that was the reason they won Artist of the Year for the First Time.
3:25 - Their look is definitely more mature in this one, especially looking back at their looks for the previous albums just before this. It was probably a nice surprise for fans at the time. *wink* I believe in one behind clip they mentioned that this was the first time they actively tried to be "sexy" with their look and MV. And...well...they ended up with this...

Yeah. I'd call that a success. And as they got older, well, they no longer have to "try". That's simply their default at this point, honestly.
5:55 - V's voice is very versatile. He's their baritone, but as you can see here, his falsetto is nothing to scoff at either. If you want to see a song that really shows that, his very first solo song, from this same album, called "Stigma" is amazing. You'll be blown away. BLOWN. AWAY. Truly. Most of the time, when you think of the high notes, you think of Jimin, and occasionally JK, but V and even Jin as well have some range to them. Jin solo "Epiphany" from 'Love Yourself : Answer' is great, and he has an amazing triple high note in the Japanese song "Crystal Snow" from the album 'Face Yourself'. That song is magic.
12:10 - I was so surprised when you totally called that he was going to kiss the statue. Haha!! If you notice, it's implied that the Wings on the statue were ripped off of V's back because of the scars. He's the "fallen angel" in this story. At the 2016 MMA performance they did Intro: Boy Meets Evil, BST, and Fire. And V had the scars on his back for the performance. I highly recommend the performance as well as the behind the scenes clip.
In fact, most of their MVs have behind the scenes videos for them. I think you'd really like to see the one for this one.

BTS are mature NOW. Wings was released in 2016, just 3 years after debut. Treasure is 2 years.
MOST REACTORS MAKE THIS MISTAKE. They look at Bts as NOW. Forgetting their underdog status and struggles. Treasure has YG of Big 3 as their platform. This was the time when BTS changed and practiced in front of the bathrooms to perform bld swt & tears at a music show because they were not given a room. Bighit and BTS were not important.

It is about adolescents embarking into adult hood. Rebellious and facing temptations. This is the stage after school life, love, and the dark feelings of boyish love.
Every picture, statue and scene tells a story.

The floating figure of JK with feathers all around, represents Icarus who rebelled against father and flew too close to the sun where his wings melted.
V is the fallen angel, thus has lost his wings. He tempts everyone.
The statue Jin kissed is the god Abrascus as in the book. Abrascus embodies both good + evil.
Jin is Demien.
So it is all about Wings that adolescents get and tend to fly towards all sorts of temptations. The album's concept.

I never recommend Blood Sweat and Tears so early on.

I've been waiting for you to get to this masterpiece... shout out for sure! V/Tae has a wide voice range - it is so beautiful. I believe this song is about all the bs&t put into making it now it all controls their lives, it can lead them to want more and more attention/money/success and it is a fight to stay focused and sane. Evil is always lurking at the door when you make it big... think of "follywood"... you know what I mean. You can get sucked in and forget... where you came from. Such a great pictorial of it all. Green smoke is the poison of this life. V just jumps in... he's already there, and covered with a veil to be uncovered by Jin's curiosity. Jimin - blindly being pulled in but tied up at the moment...he too was a tempter, he too was a link to the second...(V to Jin I think!)
