As a kid the first racing game I played was the Crew 1 back in 2014 when I got my first Xbox. I still remember how good it was. When the crew 2 came out I was so disappointed.

The realism to forza especially the environment and sky detail is unmatched, but the art design and attention to car detail in crew 2 is amazing! Both games are great.
As a PS guy, I have ALWAYS been jealous of Forza. I would get an Xbox only for Forza if I could afford it/have the space for it.

I watched a few game reviewers who already tested it and they said it must have been inspired by Forza because how much better it is then ever before in graphics and driver feelings. And the videos I saw look insanely good, I would even dare to say CrewMotorfest is gonna be the new top car game in terms of looks. And it still is in the beta while looking already gorgeous. So we PlayStation gamers are finally getting our worthy Forza counterpart.

Yeah, but in this case the gap between fake and real is getting harder and harder to recognize. The people in FH5 don’t look real but the cars and the environment, sometimes if you take a screenshot or you just stop your car somewhere else it just looks photo realistic

Keep in mind that the map in FH5 is about 107km2, while in the Crew it's close to 5000km2. The landscapes still look really good in the Ubisoft game, not the same level as FH of course, but nice.

@@brettjames5061 I can understand, but Forza maps always felt like playgrounds to me, rather than a functioning, real environment, especially the last two games. And the fact that you can destroy any tree or concrete wall without losing speed or damaging your car, is too much for me. Not to mention the awful physics interactions between cars, there's no challenge or danger driving them. Still a very good franchise, especially the first three, but people tend to ignore its flaws.

@@headcrusher4478 the DiRT and Grid series are arcade too for example, yet you can't use other cars to get through a corner without consequences, or make a big jump without risking to lose control. These elements are completely missing for me in the Forza games, making the races boring to me. Nless I think it's an awesome game for car lovers, but there are better arcade racing games with more interesting racing systems.

The crew looks good, but i think what mark the difference about all else is the density in FH5, the amount of plants, little rocks, debris, its genuinely impressive.
Global illumination and overall lighting is also a generation ahead, which makes everything look grounded in reality.

FH5 had this moist, wet air that added this saturation and density to the backround so it didn't feel so empty, while TC2 had just an endless clear sky that added a gaping definition to everything to give a sense of emptiness. The lighting, smoke effect changes and leaving tracks behind in TC2 would be major upgrades to its visuals.
It would be amazing to have a map like crew 2 and graphics like fh5
Idk i enjoy the forza horizon maps they all been pretty good i think britian being the weakest one tho. Mexico is probably my new favorite though.

Gotta give some props to the crew 2 team for still adding new stuff to a game that's almost 4 years old
As someone who has played the crew 2 a considerable amount and having never played fh5 (although looking forward to) id like to share my opinions on the crew. Some people said that forza has more cars but you can’t forget that the crew 2 obviously has more vehicle variety, like airplanes, boats, and motorbikes. These features do matter a lot in gameplay, i do spend most of my playtime using cars as they are the most effective moneymakers, something i hope they will fix in the crew 3. But i still play gamemodes like demolition derby which is very fun. Motorbikes, personally i hate them but i have a close friend who frequently uses them over cars. Airplanes are my strong suit and they are very fun to fly in. Boats are bland but that is countered by jetsprint races that are more mechanically challenging and interesting. For map size many people say its too big which makes a lot of the areas forgettable. But i disagree with this. I don’t know how detailed forza’s map is but the crew 2’s map is still interesting. In a single playthrough, roughly 300 hours, you get to explore much of the map. Doing challenges like taking photos of interesting locations or animals around the map. You get to learn and remember a lot of interesting places, like a UFO crash site, ghost town, and a gigantic ski ramp. I do think that the nature is more bland and less detailed, but having a big nature area is not a bad thing in my opinion. Its just as good as having a smaller one, the points of interest are the places where size does matter. The cities are not forgettable because of the USA’s unique skyline. Vegas has the memorable vegas strip with a lot of architectural wonders. New york has a lot of tall buildings compared to the other cities which is interesting to fly around. Dont forget natural points of interest like the great canyon’s river which is good for jetsprint races. Or swamps that are specifically designed for hovercraft races. I am looking forward to seeing how forza compares to this, but having only cars compared to the huge collection the crew 2 has will be a bummer. I will have to occasionally come back to the crew 2 to have fun in demolition derby and plane chases.

the crew 2's environment just feels dead and the races are also boring the car feels so sticky and weird and the sounds are meh and having the variety of vehicles is cool but still boring imo cause there are no random challenges like fh5 like drift zones and stuff and also the cars are expensive and there is a store for in-game currency

Crew 2 looked amazing until it was compared to FH4 which was a masterpiece. Comparing it to FH5 is needless. I own both games and I despise the Ubisoft's handling model...awfully terrible...on the other hand, Forza nailed it. Never returned back to Crew 2 after I tried FH4 and I never will, FH is the definition of "FUN" unlike the other game.
Well the crew 2 is all i got i'm on ps4 and don't have enough income too buy a xbox or pc both which would require way too much for xbox live and other stuff plus i have too much invested in ps4 too switch.
Everyone has there opinions but to me crew games are way more fun and not modded, my experiences on FH 2 and 3 were very boring and modder lobby’s, so with my experience Crew is Leaps and Bounds better, but that’s just me and my experiences!!
I overall agree, plus the Game also lost me at the point, where it become an online-only MMORPG Racer... that's like a Direction which i generally dislike. Though i've to agree atleast to one answer here... if you don't own a PC / Xbox, the Crew is def. a pretty decent alternative, if you aren't into NFS that much.

@Itlog mo panis I was referring to when they were new for the record, and I gave up on fh when crew 2 came out, I mainly only play crew 2 and nfs games, since most of my friends made the same decision and quit Forza altogether!!
TC2 is a giant map but lacks anything enjoyable, little kids constantly honking at you, or hitting you, dropping out of the sky with a boat to land on you, however it can be fun, sometimes, with friends. Honestly, The Crew 2 would be better if it had actual events like matchmaking where you compete with other players than to organize a group, etc. would be pretty cool too if you had a “crew” where yours and other crews compete for monthly rewards and such. What’s the point of it being called “the crew” if it’s just you?
Yeah, Crew 2 is full of bullies, Forza is more grown up, also Forza has map expansions and has a support team who actually listen and reply to their fan base and players.

It's not really fault of the game but of the people. It's not that hard to go away from them y'know the map is massive. Besides you must be really unlucky since i've never encountered people constantly honking or dropping from the sky with boats. I'll admit sometimes they'll go crash into you but it's not that big a deal.

The thing I like about the crew 2 is the big map and also how the car drives, very Arcady and also the fact that not only has boosts but also the customisation is way better and more options to choose from and besides the fact that you can fly planes and drive boats etc....
The thing I like about FH5 is not only the music but also the insane graphics and how realistic it was. Also really love the wheelspins it's so cool and also the fact that you can auction cars and also gift card to players and also love the battle lab option, really enjoy doing 50 lap races and earning alot of money.
They're both really good games in their own way. If you prefer bigger map more customisations and the freedom to switch between cars, planes or boat at any time choose crew 2, but if you like really good graphics and being able to create your own races as well, sell cars listen to actual good music as well as character customisation then FH5 is your best option.

I think the reason TC2 lacks in environment quality and looks is because every surface is interactable. For example you can literally take a chopper and land it on almost any building on the Crew and the map goes in the z axis as well because you can reach almost 3200m high in TC2 with a plane. The clouds aren't just parts of the skybox, but are proper physical stuff because of which they are interactable as well. There is so much going on in TC2 that if everything had very good quality and high definition the load times would be much high and the game would be well over 200GB.

Yes, that and also the map is absolutely massive. Compared to Forza you could probably fit 2 1/2 FH5 maps inside the small America the crew 2 offers. The low quality probably helps it render in better and you would probably need a really powerful computer to make it playable.

The reason I still care about The Crew 2 and like it so much is all the memories I have with it. Had a PS4 since 2018, wanted an XBOX to have the best of both worlds. Last Christmas, I got the Series S. Forza Horizon 5 is infinitely better, but The Crew 2's gonna have that place in my heart just due to nostalgia
I'm so impressed with Crew 2 it actually looks amazing 👏
The Crew offered something good that was not special because it was not able to add the excitement and suspense that makes you want to try it or get addicted to it, unlike Forza Horizon, a new and unique development in the world of car racing games in terms of lighting, graphics and colors that give more realism I believe only Studio Playground Games can reach this level of mastery and I'm sure they have a great future in developing more. And Ivory Tower should improve and work hard next time
I kinda agree but you should keep in mind that Forza has Microsoft as a founder. So they have a bigger budget to use better software and have more time to make a better looking game. And also the only thing good you said about Forza is the graphics but that shouldn't be THE MAIN thing to look at, it should be how fun the game is and the handling. Which in my opinion is better and more fun in The Crew 2.
And when talking about which game gets you more addicted, in my case it's The Crew 2 rather than any Forza. Because for example when doing the summit in TC2, you don't just do have to win to get the rewards, but you have to kind of try hard to get top 2000 or 4000 (depends what platform you play on) and stay in that top for the rest of the week. Rather than doing an event and getting the "rare" car.
And if you prefer a better looking games to cruise around or something with a less arcady handling, then yeah Forza is a great game, but if don't really care about the graphics (like me) then you should try The Crew/ The Crew 2.
But at the end, everyone plays the games they want and you should never force yourself to like or dislike a game because of someone else's opinion.

Unfortunately the crew 2 only has like one good sounding engine and its the V10. Everything else sounds made up

In 5:54 fyi, the reason why the Audi TTS coupe (or somehow) in Forza Horizon 5 don't burnout is because the Audi is design with All-Wheel-Drive and it cannot burnout unless using Rear-Wheel-Drive

In Forza Horizon 5, flooring it in a fresh Hyper-car feels satisfying, I love this game.

Forza is a game where you spend most of your time tuning cars, creating livery designs, and properly racing. The means to progress is through your physically learned skills instead of your completed races and earned credits/XP. That's the appeal of Forza. It's why it can get away with gifting every good car in the beginning of the gamr, yet even the most critical fans are completely fine with it.
In other words, the crew and NFS are for videogamers, Forza is for car enthusiasts.
Fun fact: in the crew to the cars slowly repair themselves so you if you drive a VW bug in the Herbie paint scheme it’s pretty cool
Both games are funtastic. Crew 2 graphics still great and remember the insanely huge map with motorcycles and airplanes as well. Forza Horizon 5 also has got a great variety in the map and races 💚

From a player who constantly plays TC2 in a casual mode i have to say this: If IVT don't start to give some sh** about the game, and i mean, stop doing this dropped content without fixing and improving the game in general, on Nov 9, will be the date that TC2 will die, like, for real.

For a game who has launched in 2018, after a certain update, the game started to look like a Plastic. Just look at comparisons on RUclips, FH4 vs TC2, FH3 vs TC2, TC1 vs TC1 Wild Run vs TC2, you will see, in some aspects, every single game look and did better than TC2, and TC2 was relative 'new game' on the game industry.

Forza isn't even comparable to the crew. The physics are cartoonish like need for speed and graphics are unrealistic. At least need for speed has good car sounds.

Well I played the crew on the PS4 and the PS5 and honestly on the PS5 u feel the car shift more and it feels different with every car it feels better on the PS5 and the graphics improve as well it's way more smother on the PS5

I stopped playing Crew 2 because of the poor optimization that has on PC, stuttering and inconsistent fps at any resolution, but FH4 and 5 maintain costant 60 fps without sacrificing much graphics

these are amazing and all, but NOTHING will compare to the leap that gran turismo 3 was. turning that corner and seeing the sun shining on the asphalt was simply amazing.
Really thought it was going to be a blowout in one direction or the other but I'm pleasantly surprised that it isn't.

I love both games, had a lot of fun racing in both, and with pals, even better, my only complain, is that i wish be able to get an updated PC to enjoy the maximum visuals in Horizon 5 with smooth FPS... :(
my first car game was in 2007,on windows 6 or xp, online car games.
I mean... 2 completely different games, on different engines, 4 years apart. I don't really see the point in comparison.

For the record u can do proper Burnouts and make the exhaust spit fire on command in fh5.the vid creator was just doing them wrong.and both as u would expect also look better than tc2's equivalents.
FH5 parece estar bem perto do limite do que um jogo de carros pode oferecer. Pode ser que apareça algum jogo de corrida melhor em algum momento, mas não acredito que será muito melhor do que FH5 está fazendo. Estou muito ansioso por um Fable que tenha a PG desenvolvendo o mapa.
exato. so podem melhorar. o nivel de realismo de forza 5 ate agora é o melhor. entretanto ele peca em detalhes que o crew tem. roda nao gira , e a visao interna do carro sai abruptamente 'nao da pra olhar pra traz, dentro do carro'. a noite parece mais definida em the crew. e sei la espero dezde ja o FH6 pra ver se corrigem isso e deixam mais realista ainda.

@@iaia5368 Opa, desconfio que o carro do video seja um Audi TTrs, um carro AWD, caso não saiba carros AWD NÃO fazem burnout (Na realidade segundo a internet é quase impossivel, porém acho legal considerar que eles só não fazem mesmo) logo o Forza acaba sendo mais realista nesse quesito.

something about the terrain deformation in fh5 just brings the child out in me. I'll spend minutes just going around the dunes watching the terrain deform.
One of the only things that annoyed me in the crew 2 was the lack of attention to detail in the car sounds, Playground clearly put a lot of work into that for FH5 and for that I love it. Hopefully in the next Crew game they can shift some focus to that. 5 cylinders on that TT, it was in the first game with the MK2 Focus RS, if anything just copy that sound because they aren't that different. Yet, they couldn't even get a 5cyl sound for the Focus in TC2.
The Crew 2 is also an older game so sound design is still based on the release of the game
And still the crew 2 it is an old game and it still looks damn pretty good but by now day's racing game as forza 5 i simply freaking love it i still play the crew with my Guy's one's or two a week for the summit. Still very fun to play no doubts and trying to beat up each other ass

What you have to realise is that the Crew 2's map is hella huge. That's why it might be lacking in textures but then again it's not that noticeable if you are enjoying the game. The rain effects on crew 2 are amazing.
How dome we can't cut spark and add fuel in the 2500 - 4000 rpm range so we can do cool ricer Pops and Bangs like in real life when we let off the throttle?? They should add map tuning to these games.

I compared the sound of a ford shelby gt500 in FH5 and TC 2 in RUclips and FH5 just sounded like a mobile game.
The Crew 2 is more designed to compete with GTA5 and get that microtransactions cash. I'll tell you what though I'd be playing it a lot more if it had option to turn off traffic

Yeah, the graphics are much better but, the sounds in FH5 are so flat and in comparison with TC2 or even NFS games which have the best sounds. There are no depths in the sounds
Firstly, crew 2 was made to be like an arcade game, what I mean by that is like it’s more aimed at people wanting to have fun and not 100% realism which is why their physics and everything else is not exactly supposed to be “realistic” like the forza game series aims to be hence the less realistic sounds etc and when you take into consideration how huge crew 2’s map is and the amount of events, races not forgetting boat and plane interaction and races I mean you have the whole United States to explore in the crew 2. While I do like the feeling and handling you get in Forza I gotta admit I do miss holding down X for my boost that you normally get in crew 2.. something about that nitrous boost just makes it cool to speed through a city

Let's look at the games from all angles. In FH5, the map is several times smaller, there are also several times less weather conditions; there are no aircraft, which means that you do not have these huge volumetric clouds that you can fly into, and there is also no water transport, which means that you do not have water physics (which is in TC2), it all means that you see the game only from the ground and the developers do not need to adjust the graphics and colors for all locations and weather conditions in the game, and this is the main problem with large maps. you don't need to degrade the graphics for the game to be optimized, because all these clouds, the water reacting to your boat and so on greatly affects the performance. Note that some games look beautiful or ugly depending on the weather conditions, this also applies to TC2. It looks gorgeous. during foggy weather, but bad in sunny weather. The same problem was with FH4. In my opinion, all that is in FH5 is graphics and a bunch of cars, nothing more
For the weather:Fh5 has about the same amount of conditions if yiu count the sandstorm with it(idk how much more there are since i just starting playing)
A "bunch" of cars is wrong the Forza Horizon series always had a lot if cars take Fh3 or 4 as an example 350-750 cars and Fh5 has currently a little bit more than 500 cars BUT it hasnt been updated for over 2 Yrs like Fh4(Fh4 only had 460 cars at the release).Also in Fh5 every car is detailed like nothing else.A lot of cars have theyre real motorsounds and specific Upgrades for:Engine(also awd,rwd,awd depends on the car),Rims,Spoilers,Bodykits and so much for(and im not even going into each category).So you see Fh5 is not only better in terms of Graphics.There are so much more points that The Crew 2 is not as good.Ofc The Crew 2 bot a bad game nice big map and the vehicle variety but to win against the Forza Horizon franchise is going to be unlikely.

@@brettjames5061 aircraft feel different, at least due to the fact that there are several classes of aircraft, the same with boats.Also, do not forget that in TC2 you can adjust the control of each machine separately: traction control, anti-lock system, brake balance, tire grip separately, stiffness suspension, spring recoil, wheel alignment, tire pressure, etc.And there is weather that looks more epic than sandstorm in FH
To burn wheel in forza you have to make a specific tune, that way you can burn wheel without making the car advance
I had both FH4 and FH5, but still back to TC2 daily, idk about other people but TC2 more interesting for me with that ton of vehicle, and love hate race, like how I really hate hovercraft ar first but once I know how to drive it I really love hovercraft race
The Crew 2 held up surprisingly well all things considered. In the right light and location I'd say it looks almost as good as FH5.

Concordo. É só ver 2 cenas: o carro do The Crew2 batendo nos cactos e batendo no muro. O carro dá um solavanco que não tem no Forza, onde o carro bate e fica parado. Mas são detalhes na física só. Referente a gráficos, inegavelmente o Forza tá surreal. Eu vejo umas thumbs aqui e às vezes acho que é imagem real.

To be fair,this comparison wasn't very fair to begin with. You just compared a game that is 3 years old now with one that is merely 3 days old (for gold pass people). Not only that,but they are not even the same genre,while FH 5 focuses 90% on simulation and what not, TC 2 is a far cry from a simulator because it's like 70% arcade. In TC 2 you have classes and every car in street race class will do poorly on dirt,so you can't expect to have the same result in Forza where you can just put some rally suspension,rally differentials, rally tires and you've got yourself a rally Pagani Huayra. Also,there is no Torque mechanic in TC 2, so expecting some wheel spin is a big no-no,unless you don't burn those tires and drive a generic muscle car. Regarding the quality of the terrain, it's absolutely obvious that a smaller map means more details. At no point in this comparison where the game compared in something that they both have in common, every test,I dare to say, was on FH5's side. I may have been too critical, but if we do comparions,we might as well compare 2 things that are remotely similar

Forza looks good aesthetically aswell as while you're moving, The Crew 1 and 2 are made to look good while paused, as well as to have more imperfections to make it look more realistic

@@Omar12831 as someone who have both and enjoyed both, they both have pros and cons, comparing Forza Horizon 5 to The Crew 2 is like comparing Call of Duty and Rainbow 6 Siege, both have a common genre of FPS shooters but completely different subgenre of arcade shooters and tactical shooters, respectively, like how FH5 and TC2 are both racing games but completely different subgenre of realistic car racing game and arcade vehicle racing game, respectively, it's all about the feel of the gamer
